Well, Michonne is also kind of defined. You know that e.g. Michonne wouldn't be nice and open all of the time, it just doesn't make sense for her character. That's actually some of my biggest criticism with this series.
Kinda a weird way to introduce a new playable protagonist, also she already seems to be kinda defined on who she is, I mean everyone says that she lies constantly.
Yup, that's also one thing about Michonne, for example the whole flashbacks with her kids, its a weird established thing thats actually kinda annoying.

Oh, I don't either! I second that, too. I was predicting what @Mortal5075 would say, that's why I italiziced the text. Didn't want to explain it on the same comment, but I guess I should've now.
She doesn't really strike me as ever being an outright antagonist. At most, I could see her being a super grey character, sort of like Dwight in the comic is (at least during AOW): not necessarily bad, not necessarily good, not entirely clear who's side they're on, an apparent willingness to potentially play both sides, etc.
If they made Sam the new protagonist of Season 3, will I be the only one ticked off that none of my choices from Seasons 1 or 2 will matter anymore? Specifically the Ending of Season 2? Unless they bring characters back and somehow they manage to meet up with Sam, it will feel to me like the Series lacks consistency, why have 2 whole Seasons that largely focus on Clementine only to have a third Season of the series be about an entirely different character introduced in a spin-off? In fact, why is there a need to change protagonist twice in a row?
On the one hand, she did impress me by knocking out Norma while Michonne fought Randall, (or alternatively) by double teaming with Michonne to knock out Randall. So, she can at least handle herself in a fight. Though, she needs to work on her aim. Paige even mentioned that Sam told her mom "you have to keep fighting", the same good advice Lee would offer.
On the other hand, I'd want Season 3 to involve everything I've done in Seasons 1 and 2 (and to an extend, The Michonne Mini-series), so hopefully she survives the last episode of the mini-series and maybe she can travel over to Wellington in Michigan or Howe's in Tennessee. Or even both.
None will fully agree on who the main character will be. And therefore some will inevitably be disappointed as always. Some wish to continue the Clementine journey and others wish to have the variety of a vending machine by playing the role of a new main character every new game season.
To continue as Clem would probably make the most sense at this point IF they are trying to continue the game's original plot-line from Lee the guardian.. and Clem carrying on after learning from Lee and others as she survives among new groups. The only way I'd see Samantha take on main character is if she at least met Clementine towards the finale of Michonne and S3 picks up after Samantha meeting Clem by possibly having Sam take the place of Clementine's next guardian as like the female equivalent of Luke..since Michonne cannot obviously be player character for season 3.
But on the other hand If I had to truly vote.. I'd just say I wouldn't want to abandon Clementine, especially at this point. If an adult protagonist was meant at this point then why not had just kept Lee and killed off Clem to develop Lee further or keep them both? Or begin season 2 as Christa or Omid or both watching over Clem throughout season 2 as Lee's sort of dying wish? Then pick up Season 3 or 4 with an older possible teenage Clementine. Perhaps TTG didn't plan this far out with the game's storyline but Sticking a random new protagonist in the main game just so it can be an adult character just slightly taints the smoothness of the flowing narrative I believe. At least Lee and Clem has been around since day 1 in some ways like Rick and Carl ya know.

Well i think there is a need to change the protagonist. Cause it was in my opinion clear that, Clementine wasnt meant to be a protagonist.
We couldnt form her character like we could with Lee. For example whatever we did Kenny still acted like your best friend. My Lee and Kenny where the worst enemies.
I think telltale learned from there mistake by making Clementine, a playable character and wanted the new game to target new players aswell as people who played S1&2.
Thats why they made a Michonne game, so they could attract new players and aswell introduce the new protagonist for season three wich would be Sam.
And i dont think it lacks consistency it would be a brilliant move on their part, in my opinion if it turns out to be true.
But i think Sam will meet some people who where introduced in S1 or S2.
In my opinion telltale should just keep Clementine out of the game her story is over, and the problem with the three diffrent endings would be solved to xd.

Well, I think Clementine was, mainly because she ended up being a protagonist. I do agree that there is a difference between Lee and Clementine in terms of forming a character but in retrospect it would make sense as we spent several months with Lee, people getting to know him as nice, quiet or a jerk, whilst the Clementine's story in Season 2 happened in about a week with the exclusion of the time skip at the beginning of Episode 1. But I do think we could form certain aspects of her personality, although I felt it was either making Clementine quite nicer or more so fearless depending on certain decisions, whilst characters like Kenny barely change the way they react towards Clementine, it's understandable in the short amount of time we had gotten but Clementine's actions do affect the group's initial reaction after they escape from Howe's but I do see your point since in Season One Kenny and Lilly reacted differently to Lee depending on his choices but only Bonnie really reacts different to Clementine, but depends on a single choice. I wouldn't mind seeing Sam as a character in Season 3 but I personally feel like it would be better to play as Clementine for consistency, so that the choices we made as Clementine matter more and so that the Endings also matter.
Whilst I would actually like to play as a new character(maybe in another spin-off) I feel that this game series is Clementine's story, both Seasons revolved around her and I'm pretty sure lots of people will be pissed about another illusion of choice lol

In my opinion there are allot of things they could do with her character, like her and her little brothers or atleast one of them, get seperated from Michonne next episode.
In S3 they meet a new group, wich maby consist some season 1/2 or 400 days characters.
Also the fact she has to look out for her brothers, is kinda similiar to Lee's situation in S1, wich i think allot of players would like to see again.
I think there are allot of possibilities to make season 3 a amazing game, if she would be the protagonist.
You know, Job Stauffer confirmed that it will be more as a continuation and less than a new start. So Wellington/Carver/Wherver you go alone is confirmed .

Sam? Protagonist?
...You're not serious, right? That girl's a wreck. I don't see why, where, when, or how will she be a protagonist. She's absolutely not up to be anyone's guardian, let alone Clementine. In her case, Clementine could be her guardian... makes more sense.
If you remember Sarah? Good.
"Replace Clementine"? If that happens son, I will stop playing The Walking Dead.

The way I understood it, when I asked in another thread, is that Michonne is a completely different, standalone game. That's why you don't need Season 1/2 save files.
As far as i know, they only mentioned it had nothing to do with both of the previous seasons.
They didnt say anything about it not being related to season 3.
Comparing Sam to Sarah makes no sense at all, we have seen she is quite capable of defending herself.
And why do you think that she is a wreck ?, the way i see it Clementine made S2 a complete wreck.
She isnt written realistic at all, i for one dont want to continue the tales of Clementine the Mary-Sue.
Clementine shouldn't even appear in season three, if it was up to me.
Sam? Protagonist?

Well, I know they are kind of different. I know it would be better if we compare Greg and Sarah (Pissing your pants when someone puts his gun on your head? Really?), but Sam could barely hold a pistol. I let her kill Zachary, but I regret it. No idea why, I kinda liked that guy.
You see, Clementine was and still is the main spotlight-attractor because we have seen her for almost 10 episodes. We have a chemistry here. But Sam? I've only seen her for two episodes, doubt seeing her in third.. So I doubt she'll make it into season 3 anyway, because she's in Michonne's part, not wherever Wellington/Carver's Place/Wherever Clem goes location is at. There might be a slight chance that if you are alone, you might bump into her. But that's slight.
I agree to some of your comments, but not all. I don't see why you don't like Clem, though I know that her abilities are...surreal.

Given that we are molding her character abit with Michonne's actions, I wouldn't be surprised. I like Clem, but if there's going to be a change I definitely hope TT goes with Sam.

Eh, not really.
Who's to say she hasn't died? Also Telltale did say season 3 takes place after the end of season 2.
Edit: I just noticed the mistake I made wft?
This would be awesome, I am loving sam!!
No she'd make a better antagonist
I am open to it. I don't want Clem as the playable character, and Sam seems okay.
I don't think Sam is annoying. I like her actually and would happily play as her in S3. Seriously, we have to let Clementine go.
Lee is also a thief and a liar (based on choices) (and a murderer), and I think most of us would agree that he was a great protagonist.
Oh, I don't either! I second that, too. I was predicting what @Mortal5075 would say, that's why I italiziced the text. Didn't want to explain it on the same comment, but I guess I should've now.
I thought Telltale themselves said that TWD:M won't have anything to do with season 3.
Oh god, I hope not. I cant stand her voice.
yeah, like a good pain in the ass.
It's okay, we're just gonna ignore that little tidbit
I mean pssshhhhhh, it's not important or anything

You don't think it's possible at all that she orchestrated the downfall of the entire community. Maybe she was traitor and did it for her own good

Cmon! TtgWDMichonne isnt related to original ttgWD series in any way! TellTale said it millions of time!

I don't think so.

I haven't seen that tweet before, but that is great news.
Thats exactly how i see her aswell, with a character like that we could really give a meaning to telltales "This story is tailored by your choice ".
Here you go:
Sam? Protagonist?
