I didn't think they'd do it. I really didn't think they'd do it. I was thinking, "There's no way they would do it. Can you imagine the amount of backlash they'd get?! They're not that retarded", Then they did it.
"It's a very big part of his introduction" they said. "We want to do it justice" they said.
Fuck. Off. That was the biggest load of bullshit I've seen a long fucking time. All hype for season 7 was killed off like whoever died at the end.
I think that the most probable victims are Daryl and Abraham. Other people said that it might be Eugene (given his new survivor personality) but I don't think so. They'd ruin the emotional impact as most people are not very attached to him.
Now that I've had an hour to let my rage subside.... the episode itself was pretty fucking good up until the last 10 seconds. Negan's introd… moreuction was tenseness in its purest form, and the payoff with Morgan was awesome (though I'm actually a little sad he broke his code). I think my favorite part about the whole thing was watching Rick gradually go from 110% confidence @ the start to peepee pants city by the end. Andy Lincoln sold the hell out of it.
So, I feel like the fact that we dont know who died means that who died is far less important than seeing how Negan operates. That makes me believe that its going to be one of the lesser characters. Rosita and Aaron are the one ones that I dont think have anything really going on and are the most expendable, and Im leaning toward Rosita. I know her fate from the comic and since she has been replaced with Sasha, she is the best candidate to go. The next season will start on her already beaten to death. I know a lot of people wanted to see the carnage but Im personally happy not to see that scene recreated from the comic.
Be honest, eventhough Im not pleased about the cliffhanger, I kind of like that Gimple just does not give a damn. He will do what he wants, in spite of the controversy. I just hope he knows what he is doing and this wasnt just a miscalculation on his part thats going to bite him in the butt come season seven.
I'm pretty sure there was an f bomb in a recent episode of Better Call Saul, which is made by and airs on the same network. I guess all the blood and guts are fine but naughty language is just not tolerated in the apocalyspe.
I understand that leaving the identity of who got Lucilled unknown until S7 is a good marketing technique, but as for the fans of the show that cliffhanger wasn't a good decision at all. It's as if this whole season has been built up to Negan's big moment, but deprived us of it in the end. Having to wait 6 months just to see who died is stupid. The team also said that this was their best episode throughout the whole 6 seasons? Fuck that. I preferred the mid-season premiere of S6 over this.
Who the fuck decided for this to be a cliffhanger?? Fucking sack them!!!
All that hype and discussion over who's gonna get killed and then we still don't find out!!! That really is a cunting way to treat the fans of the show!
It was probably the most anticipated moment in the show yet and they fuck us over and make us wait another 7 months.
To be honest, when I heard about the cliffhanger, I was expecting not to like this episode but I loved it, they showed development for several characters and they've introduced Negan rather nicely. When he's decide who Lucille gets to 'spend some time with', I was really tense and actually felt it could be anyone, honestly one of the few times in a TV Show where I felt like any character could die.
I also thought it was a great episode. Im not really that mad about the cliffhanger because I wasnt in any hurry to see one of the characters I loved getting beaten to death, but I wish they had wrapped it up just to give closure to fans who are on a rampage right now.

Jeremy brings an interesting idea. If they have simply announced Jeffrey as Negan for Season 7, instead of Season 6, him appearing in this episode would have been a big surprise. If they have done that and maybe they didn't end with the cliffhanger, this episode would have been much better.

Idk about you guys but I'd rather have had Trevor from GTA be Negan then whoever this guy is
And honestly if it wasn't for Morgan still being alive, I'd be completey done with the show. I can't deny that the suspence was epic all episode but what's the point in the cliffhanger? Season six ended a plot point and we don't need a cliffhanger to get us excited for next season.
But where the hell is Tara. She's been missing for like several episodes now. She shoulda been the one to die.

Whenever the uncensored scene is released for dvd and the Season 7 premier is done someone needs to edit it so we get the scene we all wanted in the first place.
I kinda like him but I always imagined Negan as the pretentious middle school bully who got everything he wanted when he was bigger than everyone. In the comics he didn't feel like a smooth killing operator but more an obnoxious and colorful tyrant.
It's cool to have both types of characters in negans camp I guess, let's see what they do next season. Especially without carol to save them like she did in sanctuary

You now what i think?

No he was good dont get me wrong. But when I saw Trevor from GTA I got hype. I thought about the whole Negan storyline being voiced and acted out by Trevor and I was so ready.
It's cool to have this Negan when it comes to organizing the chaos, but just imagine that last scene if Trevor was the one who played Negan.
He woulda started making out with Lucille. And we woulda loved him.

Ehhhhhh it's not about him being scary. Negan was never too scary. He was unpredictable. That's what was scary.
This Negan seems pretty mellow right now, which is my only beef with this form of Negan. Negan dropped f bombs not to curse but to show he was emotional. The scene didn't feel as much emotional as it felt like business, but adding the f bombs woulda changed that for me
Nah it wasn't but i kinda felt they were missed. Jeffrey Deán seemed like lacking them held him back. But you have a point. The cliffhanger is still the only real problem with the Episode.
Business-like cruelty always felt more scary to me than people getting over emotional. Maybe thats why I didnt care for comic Negan and his constant swearing, but ymmv.

I'm not from the US so I'm watching it Monday night. Can someone reply to my comment after you've seen the episode to let me know whether th… moree episode ends in a cliffhanger or we do indeed find out who negan kills? I don't wanna know who he kills, just curious whether we find out who his victim is ! thanks fam.
Everything happened the same except for the fact that we dont know who got killed yet.
Thats why its shit.
They took a scene that was a minute away from being one of the best scenes on tv ever and ruined the climax, tension and payoff by giving a shitty cliffhanger. Who is really going to care who dies in nearly a years time? Its the walking deads equivalent of the red wedding and they destroyed it.
All that potential wasted, I really hope this permanently damages the show.
I hope it doesnt. I know people are feeling very bitter right now but I feel like the show is on a good track and one moment shouldnt ruin the whole show. Gimple promised us this would pay off next season so Im going to hold him to that.

I completely agree, Andrew Lincoln's acting in this episode was fantastic, his transition was amazing and one of the highlights of the episode.
Lol. Its fine.
Its also on regular dvd i think.
My God. Thats becoming a thing now.
They wanted to "End this story and start the New one when the death mattered." Also Kirman apparently loves cliffhangers.

It's gimple
It was really odd how he said it too. I wonder if he was buillied into a cliffhanger by executives.
What is?

I feel they're both cool. Also Steven is kinda old.

I thought negan was really good, he was legit scary.
We shouldnt have to thats the thing. I cant believe they ruined it....

Let me call Anonymous. We need them now more than ever
Yeah but that doesn't matter anymore. We should do this for every fan who had to suffer that bs.
I didnt feel it was ruined by not having the fbombs in there. It was still damn scary.
I dont think his code is never kill. He doesnt want to kill if he doesnt have to. In this case, he had to.

It ends with a cliffhanger.. I can't believe I waited up till 6 o'clock for this bullshit.
7 months man. Seven months.
That's so bullshit! I genuinely thought that they wouldn't do it. Has there been fan backlash?
