I just feel like this game was caught in development limbo where they had all these great ideas and some were implemented but the ones that weren't are the things that woulda pushed this episode to being better than good enough.
Feel bad for the team but the deadline probably caught up with them. They'll redeem themselves season three hopefully. Or so help me GOD!!
Who am I kidding I already have a ttg account. I have chosen my path.
Yeah, pretty much one of the reasons for Season Two and TWAU being so lackluster, dropping elements of the story and rewriting it halfway through the season when we might as well have gotten all that content for all the waiting we had to do between episodes. And it gets worse with how they didn't include anything on the "Collector's" DVD.

I thought Amid The Ruins would be the grand master of dark episodes.
Honestly, when I was at the point where Clem's with Jane at the trailer park learning techniques, I questioned whether the episode was ever going to turn dark and we'd meet Eddie. I was disappointed to learn that neither became true.
Oh, and I was among those who watched Mustafa Ali's videos. The temptation…
Some kind of idea what happened to Christa, didn't like how she was just chased off and that was it.
The group doing what they did to Clem - you can tell it wasn't a bite as she wasn't getting the symptoms etc.
Lukes UNPREVENTABLE DEATH - The chance to even choose an option was pointless.
A few things that I think Clem wouldnt be able to do irl
Sarah... lol
Honorable Mention.... The Ending - No... Not the way you're thinking right now. I mean that there were so many options and who to save/kill was too much. The decision was soooo hard! Kenny first then deciding on whether to leave... ahhh

Mainly the comparisons between S1 & S2 characters. People always compare Molly and Jane but I don't see it. The only ones I can see are that their both lone wolves, women and have a dead sister. They seem so forced to me. Molly is lighthearted, playful and friendly, though a bit cynical. Jane is cold and ruthless, though she's way more than that as you get to know her.
The way people talk It makes me think people would compare a new character to Kenny because he's male and has a temper.
Even Nick gets compared to Ben because he made mistakes (Though the game does point it out) but he's so different from Ben.
I don't even know why Luke gets compared to Lee (though he doesn't as much anymore)
Well, they're good guys… and, yeah, they like history, and they're men. And both of them were in the 19-40 age range. Isn't that enough? They're a carbon copy of one another.

I think, the second season started off with a very good first episode, but the episodes afterwards just felt rushed to me.
And i had a huge problem, with the fact other character's didn't act diffrently towards you, depending on the things you say to them.
For, example Rebecca i told her i knew her secret, and threatend her with it.But out of nowhere, she acted like we where best friends.
Wich was really lazy writing in my opinion, also most off the characters lacked a backstory, wich didn't really help me to get attached towards them.
The only character, they created a backstory for Nick, was suddenly put aside, in episode 3 wich didn't make any sense to me at all, since he got so much screen-time in the previous episodes.
Also Clementine's character, was potrayed very reallistic in episode 1, but afterwards she became a walker-slaying badass out of nowhere.
With this i mean, i really enjoyed playing episode 1 but the rest off the episodes after that really dissapointed me.
This was pretty much how I felt throughout Season 2. The first half (Episode 1, 2, and the first half of Episode 3) was well done in spite of a few shortcomings, but it all went downhill in the second half and progressively got worse until I've lost interest.
What killed Season 2 for me was:
How blatant the writers favored certain characters, with Kenny being the biggest offender by far, going as far as to present his arc as tragic, hopeful, misunderstood, desperate, and noble from his return in Episode 2 to his character ending in Wellington, when his actions and behavior arguably suggests otherwise.
How determinant characters were handled and disposed of with little to no afterthought.
The Cabin Group and Carver's community having no payoff in the end and was quickly made irrelevant in Clementine's story by killing off everyone in both groups for shock value, along with how Carver was built up to be the main threat, only to end up anti-climatically killed off without making any lasting impact.
Clementine lacking any sense of depth in her character and instead being used as a spectator for other characters story, making her status as a protagonist and a character underwhelming.
The needless demonization of Bonnie and Mike, a once popular pair since Episode 4, suddenly turning into back-stabbing and villainous characters for the sake of creating a dramatic betrayal scene with no justifiable reason, or at the very least to make an already controversial character to look better.
Honorable mentions: Christa's disappearance, and thus the lack of closure towards the time Clementine had with Christa and Omid.
I just remember him posting Sarah, Sarita, and Rebecca's deaths. I remember being mortified after seeing Sarah's and Sarita's deaths. But I knew the episode wasn't going to be dark the minute they released the trailer. I had a little bit of hope it'd be dark after In Harm's Way, but after that trailer was released, I realized that the episode was going to be more emotional than anything. Very disappointing.

I thought the last scene with the shootout gave away that it wasn't dark at all. It did a good job at making me wonder where the hell was everyone else though, but that question was answered with the next two videos. I was shocked as well.

Character Development - this is what I noticed a lot in these recent games, they kill off a character that you know very little/ or nothing at all and they expect you to feel sympathy towards them! Why? such cheap Hollywood movie cliche...
That's how i feel about the tv show right now. I just cannot feel a sense of caring or loss for the new characters in the show. Like when Denise died, they painted a picture to make it seem devastating and yet it really wasn't because we didn't really know or get to know the character. It's been a big problem with the tv series for a long time now. I miss seasons 1-3.
-The story- was terrible. Build up this big bad villain and kill him of in an episode & a half. All that tension for nothin'. Also why w… moreon't they go darker with this series? I thought S2 was going to be dark (like Lisa RPG).
-Huds, puzzles & such - remember how old TTg had puzzles that took time off of a story, now? Not at all... complete rushness to the max.
-BUGSSS - at least get a new engine and copy paste characters into it, Christ... Im tired of seeing bodies going through the ceiling before loading screens...
-Character Development - this is what I noticed a lot in these recent games, they kill off a character that you know very little/ or nothing at all and they expect you to feel sympathy towards them! Why? such cheap Hollywood movie cliche...
-Release dates - create a deadline or finish the product entirely... (I don't really care about TTg games anymore after Twd season 2, but I do feel bad for folks how play 'em)
Agree with pretty much what everyone says here about S2. Choices didn't matter, no effort into small tiny details of choices (not the in game choices but anything in general) for example they could have brought up the determinant conversation with Rebecca in episode 1 where you can choose to reveal that you know that Alvin may not be the father. They could have made the effort to make a small reference to this in a later episode. In season 1 if Lee examined an item and then spoke to a character he would mention he saw thenitem or whatever, or if you ever chose a line when talking to a character for example, when Lee first meets Kenny he can say "Duck?" when puzzled about his son's name and Kenny responds with "like water off a duck's back". That line is then referred to i think in episode 3 and Lee will say "what happened to water off a duck's back?" but obviously wouldn't if he hadn't heard Kenny say that in episode 1.
Point is they could have added little unimportant choices like that which made season 1 so damn great! Sorry for the long post lol
The Death of Omid they killed him off too quickly he was not even in the first episode of season 2 for more then 5 minutes.
The group at the cabin locking Clementine in the shed over fear her dog bite was a Zombie bite and wanting to take her arm off.
The way Clementine gets treated like she is still a child when its clear she has matured since Season 1 yes she still maintains some of her childlike innocence but she is quickly become a teenager and knows how to take care of herself.
Rebecca was just annoying especially at the beginning when she first meets Clementine I mean she is just a kid and yet Rebecca is always giving her the cold shoulder almost like she is bullying her.
The death of Luke was another downer, he could of been saved.

I gave this season a 7/10 purely because of the way they handled the deaths of characters 1. Nick was one of my fav characters at the start … moreand his character development was going well ( even though it slacked a bit in ep3) and then in episode 4 they give him a really shitty death where you don't know how it happened and the fact that no one gave a shit about it apart from Rebecca and sort of Luke. Luke's death was bs for so many reasons, I didn't really like Sarah any ways but still no one cared that she died even after the baby was born no one even mentioned her, I don't really have an opinion on alvins death, Kennys death ( if you picked that option ) was a good send off for him but the one where he kills Jane then you can just shoot him was bs and a few deaths I can't be bothered to talk about at this point
I just feel like this game was caught in development limbo where they had all these great ideas and some were implemented but the ones that … moreweren't are the things that woulda pushed this episode to being better than good enough.

I think Carver was his own villain. He didn't try to fool people like the Governor did. He killed someone and said he did. He didn't really play politics. He was a dictator and all the people under him knew that.
I think Season 2's biggest flaw was the lack of consistency, characters barely remembered the way Clementine treated them and act the same towards her except at specific moments or Bonnie(although that's in Episode 5), the downplay of choices that made them feel like they didn't matter - determinant characters adding very little to the game, whereas in Season 1 - determinant characters felt like they mattered more(at least in my opinion) as well as forced relationships, I think it would've been nice to have differing dialogues depending on Clementine's attitude towards others similar to or greater than the way they dealt with relationships in Season 1.

One thing I really didn't like in s2 was that you would have to interact a lot with Kenny even if you didn't want to. This was not a problem to me, I liked him, but this was horrible for people who dont like him (and this is a huge group of people). The caracters like Mike and Bonnie instead of triyng to interact with him and understand his plans and feelings were just like "oh clem, put some sense into him" "clem he needs you" "clem pull him back from the dark side" and even if you say you dont want to, you end up talking with Kenny while the others dont even try to know him better.
I agree with you in almost everything, i just dont think they treated Clem all that childish. I felt it was the opposite, they were deppendent on you even if you are a 11 years old girl.

When I played it I saw no problem at all, i actually rated it 11/10, it really couldn't be better than it already was ( FOR ME )
Yeah pretty fair score.
Thank you for the comment.

I agree, sometimes those lines made it feel more real. Like even the little things mattered. Season 2 just didn't have anything really close to that.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion.
