Did anyone else think...
... that maybe the whole reason Rodrik was injured in the first place, was all Gared's fault? Hear me out.. (and I apologize if someone has said this already and I missed it..) but while Gared was running around during the ambush scene looking for Rodrik, Rodrik was already pretty much taking care of business. Each time Gared yelled his name, it caught him off guard, giving the Frey's a leg up. When Rodrik got stabbed through the leg, it was because he heard Gared calling his name and looked away. Idk, maybe I'm just grasping at straws here... But with Rodrik being the soldier he was, I don't think he would've been injured (or at least not as badly) if Gared hadn't been calling his name every time he was trying to defend himself. And maybe then, the whole story would've played out differently. Or maybe not. Thoughts? (P.S. this isn't Gared hate, lol, I love him.)

Yes it is Gared's fault but honestly if Rodrik wasn't incapacitated for the rest of the fight he probably would have been overwhelmed and slaughtered eventually. Therefore you could say it's Gared's doing that Rodrik returned to Ironrath barely alive as opposed to dead.
That's also a good point. The fact that they assumed he was already dead could have saved him.
Who knows. It might have saved his life. This isn't the first thread to point this out, and my opinion hasn't changed really.
I think the real issue is that everybody kept stopping and staring at one another during the middle of the Red Wedding. xD

He only turned around because Gared's so damn distracting. Even Gregor got hit by an arrow because he was lost in Gared's eyes. It's not Gared's fault he's attractive.
I'd rather they try and stay alive than stare at one another dramatically, haha.
Every time I replay that's one the funniest parts of the game to me as everyone is so distracted by Gared's beauty and not focused on actually fighting.
Apparently, Rodrik was supposed to be an amazing warrior and was starting to become a legend on the battlefield. Gared did distract him... multiple times XD thought I don't blame him, he was panicking. I do doubt he would have been killed at The Twins had he not been injured, as the moment the attack happened, they were trying to gather as many Foresters as they could to escape, and they may have been able to do so with Lord Gregor. I wonder what it would have been like had he escaped and was home and home before the Whitehills tried their invasion... Apparently, they needed him to be injured because he'd be pretty unstoppable if he was whole. (Not unstoppable but he would have given the edge the Foresters needed to win at the very start).

I suppose you could also say that a fighter who is supposed to be as good as Tell Tale would have us believe, probably shouldn't have been so easily distracted.
