While I agree with what you're saying. I think if some of these people had actually checked before they bought season one why would have noticed the trend that Tell Tale's other episodic games have, i.e. that they are a series of episodic games that you get in a season. While the vast majority of Tell Tale games fans accept that they will have to wait for each new episode and season. Some people just can't get to grips with the concept, it's like they want the game yesterday. You tell them they have to wait a month, they complain that it is far too long. You tell them they can have it at the end of this week, they're still not happy. You say they can have it tomorrow and they say they want it today. You say the can have it today and they complain that it took you long enough. Then if there is anything they deem wrong with the game, the game developer gets slated for "rushing out a crappy game".
I wish they would acknowledge the games strengths too.
I think the players on Steam are mad that the Forrester basically lost, their choices didn't matter and they have to wait for the next seaso… moren.
Also I think that they are sour, because the Season finale wasn't satisfying and conclusive enough and they have to pay for the next season, probably feeling it is a cash grab.
I can understand that they are unhappy about it. But I think they should also acknowledged the game's strengths.
As the Hound would say on the show - FUCK METACRITIC!
As a general rule of thumb I don't even check out these so called review websites. If I think a game seems interesting then I'll play it myself and make my own decisions about the game in question. In the past I have found nearly all of these reviews to be too overly negative to the point where if you took all of them seriously you would never play another game again! I tend to find that I end up enjoying the game a lot more than they would lead you to believe, you sometimes wonder if you actually played the same game as them.
It's like they don't even bother to make the effort to get someone who actually likes the genre of game they are supposed to be reviewing. Like they say to themselves right, we have this racing car game, lets get the person who despises this type of game the most to review it for us!
At the end of the day, only you know if you enjoy a game or not.
Never trust scores on any websites, they aren't objective but merely subjective and biased opinions from a very very small amount of individuals, some of which may not have even played the game.
You have to acknowledge that the game has its faults that prevent it from reaching the same level of acclaim as the TV series.
But then again the TV show has a rare IMDB rating of 9.5/10, even Telltale can't get that good.
They still made the best GoT game ever made. Probably deserves at least a 70/100 on Metacritic.
Kind of wish Telltale set the game in an earlier time period not related to the current timeline of the TV show, like Dunk and Egg - they might have gotten far more creative freedom.
I am wondering why Telltale didn't set it earlier. But I think starting in the Show's timeline would make it more accessible than starting several decades earlier in an era that the casual player might not have any knowledge about.

Your favorite game ever? Better than games like TWD, TWAU, GTA5, RDR, BF4, Civ5, or any other great game out there? GoT is not even the best game from Telltale and certainly not the best game ever. You probably didn't play many games. But on one thing we can certainly agree on: Metacritic and all these other critics have a really strange taste or get paid. CoD Ghosts for example....
Actually, Game of Thrones is my favorite Telltale game and favorite game in general.
However, as I responded to you before, I can't give … moreeven a single shit about what scores IGN, Gamespot, Metacritic or any reviewers in general give it, even if it's bad or good. It doesn't change my opinion on the game at all and I never relied on them. They just give me a taste to what's to come and that's it.

I'm on my 3rd play through and I like the game. It's disappointing that many (not all) choices lead to the same outcomes. I like the characters and the "oil painting" aesthetic. The story can be contrived at some points (same as show) but for me many of the characters stood out and the battle for ironwrath was intense.
I think it's decent. Not on par with some of the other Telltale Games, but good overall. It's not one of my favorites, but I don't think it deserves to be overlooked.
Pros:
-Good narrative
-Memorable characters
-Tough choices
Cons:
-Pacing is really slow
-Doesn't offer much for people who aren't familiar with the franchise like I was. (Which is a real shame because Telltale did a good job of attracting non-fans with Walking Dead, Tales from the Borderlands, and Wolf Among Us.)
I love this game! Of course, it has some things that could be improved or could have been done differently (as everything does) but that does not make it a bad game, far from it. I enjoyed it very much and am really looking forward to season 2.
Seriously? I mean there are many cons in this game but there were also alot of pros in this game as well. I can name a couple:
The crossbow and bow scenes.
The choices (they still mattered more then TWAU and TWD)
The characters such as Rodrik, Asher, and Mira.
Determinant characters such as Bowen, Finn, and Bloodsong.
Being able to interact with characters from the books and the show (excluding Ramsay Snow).
Good game mechanics.
There are more but I'll leave it at that. But it's definitely not a game for everyone. If you don't want to play it during your eight or nine lives then so be it. But yeah I do think that the game has many cons as well.
I haven't encountered anything I didn't like about it. Loved the new characters, would like to see a prequel series centered around Asher. The story was fantastic with great twists and turns throughout. There is one thingnI wonder about, is if they write themselves into a corner, there were a lot of cliffhangers and some characters may be dead or alive by the end. Like Lord whitehill or Mira, it's more interesting if she is still alive, but in others her character was beheaded. Her story line seemed pretty big, how would they get around that?
No pros, cons only.

For me, letting Mira live while surrendering her House to Lord Morgryn and letting Tom the Coal Boy die doesn't seem very much of a Forrester thing to do. Tom probably doesn't have a family while Mira still does. Tom is pretty much the last of his kind while Mira isn't. Also alot of people were disappointed that Mira got beheaded.
The problem...no one likes a hopeless cause. And this game is filled with them.
Mira's plotline is basically useless as it does nothing that affects the plight of her family save to have them lose yet another Forrester due to plot points that are just unmovable by the player...she either dies or is married off with no power and no hope.
Ramsey Bolton...nothing you do or say to him will help you.
Gwynn Whitehill ....basically asks you to take it up the arse and be happy about it..but she really cares...honestly
Castle Black Justice is bullshit just to get the North Grove found...might as well just bypassed the wall and struck out for the North Grove.
Rodirik or Asher Even at the end they have to kill off one of the two really likable characters in the game.
Dany is a bitch
Lud Whitehill is so over the top generic bad guy it actually made me laugh.

This. Honestly Telltale should have done something to keep both Mira and Tom alive. Killing them off like that was a mistake. But remmember there is no justice in Kings Landing.
Ramsey Bolton...nothing you do or say to him will help you.
I think Telltale made another mistake with this. They really should have had him appear just once.
Gwynn Whitehill ....basically asks you to take it up the arse and be happy about it..but she really cares...honestly
Well it's your choice to trust her or not. You don't have to do what she says.
Castle Black Justice is bullshit just to get the North Grove found...might as well just bypassed the wall and struck out for the North Grove.
I'm actually glad Gared went to Castle Black. I found it very interesting to see how it was like for Gared to be at Wall and also meeting Jon Snow. Also, he was able to get the help of Cotter who is a wildling and then get help from his wildling sister. As for Finn, you can save him by leaving him behind. But who knows what his fate is if you do that. Probaly better then turning into a white Walker.
Rodirik or Asher Even at the end they have to kill off one of the two really likable characters in the game.
What's wrong with that? First of all it's Game of Thrones. Second you get to choose who live and who dies. I actually liked the dialogue of when Asher died in the story. But I do think Telltale could have kept both playable characters alive like they did in Tales from the Borderlands. I honestly do think though that Telltale should have made the choice where keeping the traitor alive (he tells you that Ludd is going to ambush Asher) actually prevented Rodrik/Asher death. But alot of people were disappointed by this.
Dany is a bitch
Yeah same in the show. What did you expect her to do? At least she gave gold to Asher to have him pay for fighters (yes I know it doesn't matter much because he gets the pit fighters anyway but still). I do wish thought that this thing of getting gold could have been more.
Lud Whitehill is so over the top generic bad guy it actually made me laugh.
Some people actually liked that about Ludd believe it or not. But what type of bad guy did you want?
The problem...no one likes a hopeless cause. And this game is filled with them.
It's not as hopeless cause for everyone. Yes Telltale did make mistakes in my opinion but did keep Some of the characters alive. Honestly I'd say the Walking Dead Game is more of a hopeless cause. Everyone dies except for Clem, AJ, Jane(or Kenny). So it's almost like the same thing.

I have never watched the TV show, and never intend to, but quite enjoyed this game.
However, i'm starting to get a little .... tired (?) with the story branches in TT games, i'm starting to want them to go a little deeper (which means a lot more $$ and development time obviously).
I was just bothered that no matter what response chose sometimes in GoT, the end result would still be the same. And Mira's part in the game seems pretty much pointless since it doesn't seem to affect anything else. I could go on, but i don't want to keep feeling a little bitter about it.
Comments
If you like reading, I would highly recommend reading the book series.
I like it, but I liked the movie Dumb and Dumber 2 soo....

I just started reading the books and I have to say they are some of the most incredibly detailed books I've read.
I feel the same way.
Choices were hard, characters were amazing, every playable character was fun to play as, and a good story.
It's my favorite Telltale game.
Yes you have to respect George Martin's dedication and attention to detail.
This is the bullshit low score it got. Come on, you fucking assholes (Not you guys), it deserves a 95 at least!
FUCK METACRITIC!!!
Our choices do matter, believe it or not.
Since there's gonna be a season 2.
And yeah, the story is fucking great.
Its a great series. Definitely deserves more love.
Trust me, if reviewers would be objective, then Every single game Would be rated much lower. I want subjectivity in reviews.

Game of Thrones has definitely become one of my favorite games of all time, it makes me want to give the show a shot xD
no
I loved game of thrones and can't wait for season 2!
no. me 2 like
No you're not, since I love Fantasy Medieval and the show overall I really did enjoy this game.

Dude, it's his own opinion.
Of course it is. It just seems weird to me, thats all.
Well, you made it sound like he has terrible taste in games.
That was rude as hell, man, and you know it.

This game was fantastic, second to TWD S1 & S2

This is my favorite Telltale game, fuck all the other games. And Arakin is one of my favorite people to talk to on this forum.
I loved it too and I'd never even watched game of thrones.
I just knew Telltale would make it amazing!
Honestly, i loved it, probably my favorite telltale game by far!
and i do think it is underrated.
This is my first time playing a telltale game, just started episode 3 and I am loving it so far! The story is well done and just draws me in
shiz was perfect nuff said nuff said
