Clementine's "Playable Flashbacks" in "A New Frontier"
Clementine will have vivid memories of her traumatic past in "A New Frontier"! What do you guys think she will remember? Lee's death? Maybe something that happened to her and AJ during the time skip between Seasons 2 and 3? I am so excited to find out!

I'm guessing her flashbacks are tailored to your Season 2 ending.
Im guessing like Blind said, they are meant to show off what happened to Clem after whatever ending you got in season 2, which I suppose will also show how Clem got where she is now.
That's a good prediction. That is most likely what will happen.
I'm very excited and nervous to find out what happened to Clem after Season 2.
Wait, when was this confirmed?
I found this information on this link.

Well, my enthusiasm just decreased tremendously knowing that flashbacks will play a part in defining Clementine's interactions with the "present" segments of the game.
I already feel that knowing that detail makes it seem like the game will be largely unfocused and sloppy. How will choice variables matter if we're given not only two characters to overlap decisions on (which would be damn confusing to remember how you're playing both characters in the first place), but now there's multiple timelines we have to distinguish and added on top all that, we're now supposed to have different character progression arcs too?
I'm not saying it will be bad, who knows? It may be the best game so far, but... I'm not sure I've seen a game pull it off before and with Telltale's hit or miss track record, I feel it hard to work up any level of enthusiasm when a game is trying to juggle all those thematic elements at once.
You think that they will show the flashback like the ones in TT Batman?
i already dont like the game. its going to be sooo annoying when main storyline randomly cuts to flashbacks. i hate when that happen in movies/tv shows.
I would say actual separate scenes in which we explore different locations, talk to other characters and make decisions.
Perhaps your negative vision on these flashbacks can change if you consider both storylines to be just as relevant as each other! A back and forth in time, instead of the present and a tedious ass segment.
I think we're just as likely to get "Season Two epilogue" flashbacks as we are "with Lee in the RV"-esque flashbacks. I'm hoping for both, but the reason why I think they are equally likely is that they want new players to get backstory from throughout previous seasons without relying too much on exposition or the hopes that they'll just buy earlier seasons.
Tales from the Borderlands is told through flashbacks and it worked perfectly.
Surely Clementine won't just be playable through only flashbacks? We have to play through an entire season of this and everytime (embellishing) Javier asks her a question, Clementine starts talking, it'll fade to white and into another flashback. That sounds too silly to do after the first few times.
There's gotta be more to this. Maybe it's just an episode 1 thing.
I'm pretty sure there will be parts where we play as Clementine in the present, there could even be parts where we get the choice to play as Clementine or Javier in the same way we can choose to play as Bruce or Batman.
I dont ever recall telltale themselves ever saying this
What?
Ok. What about the bandits though?
Why didn't I think of this before? That would actually be really neat.
Similar to Bruce/Batman, it'd come down to how you want to solve a problem; do you want to approach the problem with brute force, take the problem to the enemy via Javier? Or do you want to depend more on your wits and smaller stature as Clementine?
Now that would be cool. So much variety in playthroughs.
I believe this could be a memorable way of misleading us.
Perhaps our group suspects that we will have to overcome obstacle A, and players will make their decision based on that—then it turns that we are facing obstacle B and players are forced to utilize the character they chose in a way that they didn't expect.
That does sound like an interesting gameplay concept.
You mention bandits taking a girl while talking about Christa: correlation?
Oh.... Well shit, I can only assume that's an inversion of AJ on your part and that it wasn't Mike's crew since they were in North Carolina instead of Georgia.
I'm gonna be disappointed if Clementine is only playable in flashbacks, honestly I wanted it to be 70% Clem and 30% Javier.
I'm honestly hoping it's more 90% Clem, 10% Javier, but that's just me.
I'm thinking it's going to be 60/40 in favor of Javier.
I'd really love it if some of her flashbacks gave us control of her in some vital or unknown moments in Season One. Perhaps showing how she got out of Savanah or her perspective of the bandit attack or maybe any conversations she had with Duck or Ben while Lee was out and about. I'd like to actually give a shit about Clementine, and going deeper in depth with her character would be great. Maybe even get an uncensored or uncut version of when she shot Lee.
Now this does sound like an excellent idea, especially since it can lead to some interesting retroactive development of a few characters.
I am hopping for 50/50....and flashbacks sound cool.
It would be a good way to have your Season 1 choices affect the story.
For example, there could be a flashback were Lee was talking to Clementine, and whatever we made Lee say to her is shown.
I just hope Clementine isn't limited to being playable in Flashbacks. Being that she is a teenager there is still ways to develop her character. Also they can have a Game of Thrones sort of thing where Clem and Javier will be seperated and do their own thing to help whatever community they are a part of.
I don't know if this is really cool or really lame.
Why can't it be both
coolame
Same with me but I know that's not gonna happen so i was being a little realistic ^^^
Hopefully no memories from S2, I'm thinking Clem is better off forgetting about that travesty of a narrative.
No, I'd think it would be best for them to do so, as ignoring it completely would be a BIG mistake. After all, why only pull from Season 1 and post-Season 2 when Season 2 itself was supposed to be Clementine's story about learning how to survive as a unit firsthand. And while there were certainly some character issues and questionable decisions, sweeping it under the rug is the wrong thing to do because that would be ignoring the point of it all just to tell a determinately "better" story that could benefit from that part of history.
Plus, we might just get a few author's saving throws through that--I doubt it, but it is a possibility. Any mistake in one story is an opportunity to tell another that may retroactively improve the old mistake by making it relevant to a new bigger story.
If on top of the new plot they gave us a series of flashbacks of what happened after S2 depending on your ending, I think that would be amazing. We'd have a brand new story but also a determinant story that would tie the past to the present. As long as the length of the episodes and the new story didn't suffer, I'd love that. Would be amazing to be able to spend some more scenes with Kenny after managing to stay with him after two full seasons.
I understand that they're obligated to reference S2 but I wouldn't mind if they took a Force Awakens approach in which it doesn't completely ignore inferior material but doesn't reference quite as much as compared to the material that was actually really good imo.
That's exactly what I think.
I would consider it an interesting dynamic if the storyline that takes place between the ending of Season Two and the start of Javier's story also affected the storyline that's four years into the apocalypse. We could make a decision as Clementine, and that would later affect how she reacts to situations when we play as Javier.
