So ******** got Lucilled.
Who would've figured both of them would get it? And why do you think this was done?

I thought it was going to be either Abraham or Glenn, and then I believed the spoiler saying it was going to be both. It ended up not being a surprise for me, even though it saddens me to lose yet another favorite character ( Abe ).
I believe they did their best the past few episodes to develop Abraham. His story line with Rosita, Sasha and Eugene clearly marked the end of the character which made his death predictable. For those who read the comic he also was going to die earlier, so it's again, not a surprise he was killed.
In another perspective, Abraham wasn't EVER going to bend before Negan. ( I mean he was kneeling but you know what I mean ). Negan may even have killed Rosita, Sasha and Eugene all it would have done is piss him off some more. Keeping Abraham would have ensued in a lot disrespect and a lot of '' I don't give a fuck'' attitude, comparable to Carl's one but with way more silent anger in it. Negan couldn't simply afford allowing someone who kept looking at him that way to live, he couldn't simply allow someone who is definitly not scared to die to go on, Abraham HAD to die, for Negan's credibility and I guess for the plot. He is gone the same way he lived though, his last words fitted his character, and the peace sign he made toward Sasha too. He was a protector, a man who would have been ready to take the bat for them all. I am personnally satisfied with him dying after such an interesting episode even though I wish he didn't die at all . By Killing Abraham Negan killed the strength of group, their will to fight, he smashed their dignity on their ground.
For Glenn Rhee it was even more clear. It doesn't leave a lot of place to interpretation. It's similar to what happened in the comic. The death of that first episode was meant to be impactful both for the public and for the group, it's supposed to be a turn, and it's supposed to make us ALL understand Rick reluctance to retaliate. When Abraham was more than enough for me, I assume the writers didn't feel the same way. Glenn is way more appreciated than Abraham, it goes for inside and outside the show. He was there since the very beginning, being one of Rick's closest friend. He also looks pretty ''innocent'' compared to most characters. To some viewers, it's an injustice to kill him over well... almost everyone else. The comments all over the internet of people who even start hating on Daryl proves the characters importance. Negan is instantly introduced as a ''cruel'' character. Since Abraham is less popular, his death is seen as a pay back, Glenn's death generally hurts more. Obviously by killing Glenn the writers kinda killed the ''heart'' of the group, they showed they were able to kill important characters too, they striked the group right in the feels.
In short : Abraham's death was in Negan's best interest, while Glenn's was in the writers best interest.
I changed your title because the fact that two people died is a spoiler in itself.
So Glenn still got killed. But Abraham? (Whoever that is since I don't watch the TV Show) I even told the TV watchers Glenn was about to get killed years back lol
Edit: I remember him now. Whoops...

Contains SPOILERS!!!!
I am just sick of Daryl being safe in the face of danger every time. It could've been Daryl who got Lucilled. He has the stones to punch Negan in the face while they are all armed with automatic rifles, Lucille the bat, and his own crossbow. If Daryl was smart he wouldn't have punched Negan. I understand he was trying to defend his friend Abraham. However, they rarely spoke so I am disappointed he punched Negan resulting in Glenn's death. Daryl should not be off limits. Also I think Daryl is going to get the iron while at Negan's camp. Sorry for rambling on a bit.
maybe he was expecting to die
Actually a lot of people guessed it was going to be both of them. And it makes sense to have done it that way, because they wanted to stay true to that scene in the comics (where Glenn dies), but also surprise comic readers by killing off Abraham first instead. Given Abraham is only one present that's already supposed to be dead in the timeline (from an arrow through the eye - Denise died in his place in the show), it makes sense that if the show wanted to kill off two, it would be him that died with Glenn.
Well, here's what Entertainment Weekly Issue #1438 said in "The Bullseye" section:
I think it's a little late to be discussing the World Series references.
