So was Lee alive at the start of Episode 1 of Season 3?

The beginning of Season 3 started out a few years before the apocalypse really hit; it didn't say how far back though. Gabe was around 7 or 8 years old in that scene and him and Clem are about the same age. So technically, that means during that rewind scene Clementine and Lee were alive and together while Javi was running to his family. And obviously once it switches to present day, he's dead. So it's weird thinking about it like this, but I think Lee was definitely alive during that beginning scene of episode 1. Then again I could be wrong, and Clem was with Luke during that time but I don't really know since it doesn't specify how far back that scene was. I'm just assuming it based it off Gabe and Clem's similar age.

    During the start where Javi runs home, you can hear traffic, sirens, etc. So it's pretty much right at the start of the apocalypse, which would mean that Lee is about to be in a police car, being transported to prison. So yeah, both are alive and are soon to be met.

    During the flashback to when Javi and Kate talked (and held hands), which I think was way before the first scene, Lee must've been still working at UGA.

    The flashback scene from episode 1 was just at the start of the undead's ''attack''.

    So yeah, Lee was alive during that flashback, most likely lying unconscious in the police car. Moving forward, we have Javi, Kate, Mari and Gabe surviving, all that time on their own, whilst Lee was alive with the ''Motor inn'' group, he then died. Clem lost Omid and Christa afterwards, survived the whole Carver plot and went on with her story. This all went down while Javi's family did their own thing, driving around in the van. When we meet Clem, as Javi, she's been through her whole story arc from season 1 and 2 (her own flashbacks indicated that).

    Let's see.

    Clementine was 9 years old when the zombie apocalypse hit. Mariana was 6 years old when they discovered her grandfather became a zombie. About 4 years later Clementine is now 13 years old and Mariana is 10. I feel like that event happened exactly the same time Lee's cop car crashed.
