In regards to the David wielding Lucille story - Yes, there really was such a thing. The guy or gal took it off the site after a user left a not-so-stellar review on it. Feh. It was, uh, something special. The summary revealed that it was how they thought A New Frontier should end. I was in disbelief, to say the least. While also giggling with sheer incredulity.
The issue I take with certain people on the forums is how incessant they are about starting to write. It's nerve-wracking to upload anything online, I really do understand, but there comes a time where if you need that much convincing I don't think it's for them. If someone needs convincing, chances are they're not one hundred percent sold on the idea. But I feel, with writing, there needs to be an underlying passion. And passion doesn't need coaxing, in my experiences. But, heh, I might just be getting wound up over nothing. I'm glad you agree with my points, I was really worried I'd gone off on too much of a rant.
This is a really cool thread idea, I'm curious to see what other people think. Good thinking on your part, kind sir or madame! Have a virtual pat on the back \o/
I do agree with you on some people needing to be a bit more quiet about writing their own. Also, I understand what you mean by the fan-ficti… moreon - that I've seen so far - for ANF being really bad.
(But was there really one with David using Lucille? Like really?)
Honestly I just don't like the idea messing with someone else's world unless you have permission from the creator it just feels weird to me, honestly it's really hard to describe why I feel that way.
At the very least, she and AJ had somewhere safe to live for a few months, so its not a total loss. Still, Jane was clearly meant to leave an impact on Clementine by teaching her things (some of which she did beforehand) about survival and combat but even that is kinda negligible to an extent.
It's a shame really. Even now I look back on Season 2 and I wonder "What did we really accomplish?" Other than bringing AJ into the fold it did little to advance Clementine's story. Jane and Kenny are gone and Wellington was a farse.

I find it to be okay if fan-fiction writers find their work to be canon to them, however trying to make it canon to everyone else? Now that's a different.

Yeah, at least that's one positive to take away from it.
You know, it's kinda sad we have to resort to pointing out all these little details in order to give S2 a real purpose.
True, if I made my own IP or successful series I'd probably be a bit humbled that someone decided to make a fanfic of it, but I'd still feel this nagging sensation in the put of my stomach. It's weird, I didn't discover fanfiction until 9th grade because the thought of using someone else's characters never crossed my mind, my introduction to it probably didn't help as I thought it was an announcement to a crossover of two book series that were set in the same universe I liked, so you can probably understand how that may have affected my perception of it as a whole.
What's a bit bad about this and the previous season I think is simply result to bringing a team of mostly new writers. New writers shouldn't be put to work at big projects like these ( funny how the writing team twd had was in season 1 when there wasn't much faith in the game was made of already guys...). Amateur errors are certain to happen even if they are slight. Example In one episode we deal with a guy with bad pacing and setting skills and then the following episode's writer's setting notions are better but the char development takes a downturn and that can ruin a character arc because no episode should wasted in any storytelling aspect this isn't a twenty ep.long season or some random tv show is a video game.and I don't think vg are the best platform for young writers to experiment even the most talented they can become later. I can't help but feel like I can do not better but differently in a fan fic but I'm not really into it really only walking dead fan fic I like is the one telltale is pulling off right now. Also how can one write what we saw in two years or so a newer may panic and think its tight schedule to polish the details and all but a pro has to handle something satisfying to the public.

I know it's fan-fiction, but I want people's views about people who are writing their own versions of ANF more specify.
Not TWDG fan-fictions in general, just rewrites ANF specify.

Understandable. Still, I think most creators are pretty cool with it as long as it's mostly non-profit.
There's honestly no harm in it, people are just making something out of nothing.

Yeah, I know, right?

No. I don't remember any elephants. Pink elephant make sense, his bible didn't.
