I really liked season 1 and 2 but the michonne DLC I thought was quite disappointing since it didn't seem to be quite structured and the characters were decent for what they were meant to be. ANF is ok in itself but I'm disappointed by how they handled the flashback endings and how they disregarded actually making a season 3 based off of our season 2 choices and how they just made a reboot instead of a continuation of our story.
Season One Disappointments
* Doug's character wasn't as fleshed out or involved as Carley's.
* Main Determinant characters always died… more, although at least added to the story.
* Lilly leaving regardless of her relationship with Lee and Clementine.
* David and Travis always dying regardless.
* Mark not getting some good character development.
* Larry dying regardless and no one ensuring they have medicine with them.
Season Two Disappointments
* All of Clementine's relationships are static and only dynamic based on one decision (sometimes largely - Bonnie or hardly at all and temporarily - Rebecca) or relationships only change temporarily based on response - which inevitably has no long term effect. The only exception I think is Sarah but the effects of Clementine's relationship with her are rather small but arguably meaningful.
* Lack of character development for all characters.
* Determinant characters die faster with almos… [view original content]
Season 1 - 0 (let's be real; that game is a masterpiece)
You know, actually, let's be real about Season 1 for a change. Let's stop pretending like it's somehow the pinnacle of evolution (or that of gaming for that matter). What makes TWD so great? That isn't a rethorical question, either. I'd like an honest answer why this game's many, especially technical flaws can somehow be ignored, when other games are judged so harshly that they have no chance of ever getting close to it. The simple answer I'd give is hype, mixed with a resulting sense of obligatoriness. What this basically means is that you unconciously feel like you have to deify this game because everyone else does, which in turn is only a result of everyone else thinking the same thing.
Now, I'm not claiming that TWD is a bad game, on the contrary. Obviously I think highly of it, or I wouldn't be here in the first place. It did deserve to become GOTY 2012, it was a breath of fresh air and revived a genre that was believed to be dead. But that doesn't mean that it's perfect or the "best game ever", and people should stop acting like it.
Season 1 - 0 (let's be real; that game is a masterpiece)
Season 2 - 1 Story was completely jumbled and lacked any end goal
Season 3 - 0 Honestly, Season 3 is amazing.
400 days having so many different characters, it would have been more interesting if we had followed for example the Gas tank group for the entire 400 days or something instead, so you got some time to care for the characters rather than 10 minutes with each
A New Frontier being a main series entry instead of being more like Michonne, many people are like me, in that for them, The Walking Dead is the story of Clem, which it very much has been so far, and for me, Season 2 was amazing, because playing as a child in the apocalypse was something special, it made me think totally different about the choices I made, but now, with Javier, we are thrust into his family, and expected to care for them, even though the episodes have been super short and mostly actionfilled, so no character building moments except 420 Weed smokage, so I still care more about Clem and AJ.
Speaking of Clem and AJ, it seems like a big waste to put so much focus on AJ at the end of season 2, only to have him and Clem be almost pointless in A New Frontier, it seems pretty obvious that the story is gonna be about David and Javier, and The New Frontier, all I really wanted was to continue following Clem and AJ, while playing as Clem, so I hope this whole ordeal with "trying to get new fans onboard" that Telltale is doing with A New Frontier, doesnt mean that Clem gets removed or something after this game. I am still hopeful for a new Clem game, focused on AJ and her, but who knows, I have no clue what Telltale wants anymore, depending on what they do with the next installment, it may be the end of this series for me, that is not to say that I wont play any potential next games just because Clem isnt in them, but if she isnt it definitely needs something very special to make me come back, and on the opposite side of the spectrum, a new game with Clem as the lead would be an instabuy for me
Well, it is my opinion and the reason being:
* Carley is a romantic interest for Lee
* The only way for Lee to let all surviving membe… morers at the beginning of episode 3 know that he was a convicted murderer is to have her live
* She also aids in a game-play scenario - specifically when the bandits attack
You know the secret to not being disappointed? Don't have high expectations. The only time these games have disappointed me would be Season 3's release. Specifically in the "length department" and "fuck your choices" department. I do believe Telltale can fix these missteps, if they just communicate with their fans and let some sense be knocked into them. For fuck's sake, what's going on there? All these promises, all these assurances, all these years and what comes out of it? A big pile of disappointment. Episode 3 better be a damn masterpiece.
Maybe they shouldn't have made Season 1 good then...
I don't know why I have like this logic that a small company would listen to criticism and improve their games later on, maybe it was the games from the 90's sequels fault.

My expectations were limited to this being a follow up, featuring Javier e familia. Literally because everything we got prior to the VGAs either suggested or out right stated this would be as much of Javiers story as it is a continuation of the previous seasons. No one knew how limited Clems role was until it went up for preorder and we found out she was going to be controlled in flashbacks, and then those were extremely limited. I've been waiting 2 years for a followup, I apologize if I expected something more. But they really suckered people in with the initial release, and I hate that I'm not considering the next episode a buy on release. Every release in this series has been a no brainer for me to grab up until ANF released.

Doug's death.
Too many times to count.
I don't know how many times, but it's exponentially increasing

That's the only redeeming factor about his death, everything else about it was atrocious.
"Doug's character wasn't as flesh out or involved as Carley's."
...Excuse me?

Pretty much the entirety of season 2 was a disappointment.

Well, it is my opinion and the reason being:
Our relationship with TTG feels like a Megatron-Starscream one, if you get me.
i enjoy all the series
Yeah, but if you don't save me, you don't get to see me have orgasms over an electric fence.

Once, the length of ANF.
I'm severely disappointed with Clementine's playtime this season. Three minute flashbacks really doesn't cut it for me.
Also sort of upset at Kenny/Jane but I've been expecting something like this for a while so I'll get over it.
Also, fucking icy lakes.
I think that's it.
Fair game.
S1. I don't really like ep2. As a standalone game / DLC it's awesome, but seems useless to a story.
S2. It started ok, but took a dive in the third episode and turned into a mess. Felt like the production of Hell Developement Inc.
S3. It combines previous disappointments: seems useless and looks rushed.

One of the best things I looked forward to.
