  • Yeah body count was way off the charts..but there are no heroes in these apocalyptic stories.

  • This is true, as evident by Lee's demise, Clementine, while still a very good person, have also changed alot from the innocent girl she used to be.

But the point is, while Lee and Clementine always tried to do the right thing so to speak, Joel did not have humanitys best interest at heart when he took Ellie upon himself, in fact he did not want her, he cared only about himself, there was nothing heroic about him. That is not to say that he was wrong, he lost everything that mattered to him at the start of the apocalypse, but the only reason he took Ellie in his care was because his female friend (I forget her name) wanted him to, only later did he start loving her like he did.

Thats the core difference between Lee and Joel, Lee took Clementine because it was the right thing to do, and that is probably why she has held on to some of the innocence that she has, although not alot. Joel took Ellie out of respect for his partners last wish

Well...I think in the apocalypse there really are no such things as heroes.

  • If that's true they should have given us a certain choice at the end of the game.

Joel is not a good person, he may have been at one point, but he is not the Hero, he is a survivor

  • Yeah, the guy was unstable and dangerous, and it had to be done.

And Clem already said she don't want TNF see her and of course she had her reasons, so no matter what there is no way I'm betraying her or doing something that might hurt her.

Neither could I I can't wait to see the rest of the story play out in Episode 3, my main play through I shot Conrad mainly because TNF c

  • For sure, I am wondering how the betraying Clementine and being a dick to your brother throughout the game would change it at all...

Like what if you had to be nice to David to stop Clem from being punished, so if you were mean to him, he doesn't really accept anything you say.

I want to see how it plays out, maybe David may react differently if you were mean to him and kissed his wife.

  • Yeah that's the point i was trying to make, most people wanted Joel and Ellie, their story was interesting and Naughty Dog decided to continue.

Meanwhile, most people wanted to continue Clem story (i know some people came out after S2 and said they don't want Clem as protagonist but that doesn't mean they don't want her story, in my opinion I actually liked Clem as protagonist).

But Telltale was like NO we are gonna start new story about someone else and put couple minutes flashbacks for the character that this series was all about in the first place.

    Really Telltale?

There was a rumor for the sequel to have a new cast - as far as I know, most people wanted the sequel to still have Joel and Ellie as the main protagonists.

  • I like that they didn't give us one. But I have to agree with it being cool if you could do like a pacifist play through of this game.

  • Btw, did you also watch the Left Behind DLC?

Thank you...I watched a playthru of the game and I was excited heard all these great things....was sad when Sarah died...liked Tess...and then Ellie showed up....I just never really warmed to her. The game was good.

  • No.

I would probably like The Last of Us 2 then, because I still liked A New Frontier's premiere overall.

  • It really wasn't a choice based game though, it was more akin to something like Metal Gear Solid or Tomb Raider. An action adventure game, choices seem to be more of an RPG thing. That that its exclusive to them or anything, but Joel and Ellie both had very clear and set paths of development through the story.

  • Yup. Ellie was a job to Joel, then became an obligation from his lady friend. I don't think the game really tried to give off the impression he was a good man after Sarah died. Even in cutscenes he had no problem with killing and showed no remorse for it, and this is within the first half an hour. He genuinely cared about Ellie by the end, but that doesn't make him a better person. He genuinely cared about Tess in the beginning, but he still was who he was.

  • You might not be interested, since you didn't really like Ellie, or, If you decide to watch it (it's only 1 and a half hour long), you might like her more, since it focuses on some of her backstory.

    No.
