Is It the End of Clementine?
It seems that Telltale is trying to get us to become unattached to Clementine. With her not wanting to join the group, her not being the main character, etc. Do you think this could be the end of Clementine forever? Maybe Telltale is trying to get us ready for her death. Job did say the story with Clementine broke him in the upcoming episodes of ANF. Would of any of you still play TWD if everyone from the previous seasons are dead? I probably would but it just wouldn't really be the same anymore.

Sorry, been off for a while so I haven't seen most of the discussions. Would you please give me a link to one so I can take this off and discuss there?
Job said in E3 will be a (heart)breaking scene with Clementine. Not that it breaks him what happens to her in the rest of the season.
I don't think they'll end her, and what I could extract of the AMA of Job here on the forums, it might end/start with two main characters (Javi and Clem). Which would result in a more branching storyline later down the line.
His definition of 'heartbroken' probably differs from fanbase's.
Probably.
What i got out of the AMA is it seems telltale is transitioning Clementine to a supporting role and establishing Javier as the main character/focus. I could be wrong although thats what i feel especially after jobs comment about clementine's role in ANF.
I've learned to never take what telltale staff say in regards to TWD for face value.
If they do decide to continue the series, I really do doubt she'd be in the next season. Her character's stale as it is and it's clear that Telltale aren't as invested in exploring her anymore, preferring to focus their main attention on the likes of Javier and newer characters. If they'd written Javier as a genuinely interesting protagonist, I'd have been in support of this direction, but alas, it seems he, while fairly likable, is having a sort of Luke effect with me and not proving to be the most engaging.
Yeah probably. As long Clementine stays with us, I am happy. I don't need her to be playable, but I need her to be around.
I just assumed the heart-breaking bit would be A.J dying and it being Clementines fault.
It can't be rape, Telltale aren't that ballsy, and killing Clementine at this point would just be a bit of a cheap plot point.
Alternatively, we might see some characters that Clem knows return and die or something, maybe Molly from S1? Not that that would be very heartbreaking.
I really think telltale wants you fully get rid of clementine at this point.
i don't know but considering how season one the group tried to find a boat and before Kenny died they were trying to find a boat the ending should be clementine finding herself a boat and then her sailing off to the ocean with a sunset
I guarantee you that becoming unattached to Clem is not Telltale's intention.
Why do these threads keep popping up? This makes infinitely less sense than those weird "Lee is alive" theories.
He's alive in our hearts my friend.
In my opinion i genuinely feel Telltale really didn't want Clementine in ANF which in reality makes sense for the direction they want to go. Jobs comment in regards to clementines role further proved to me that telltale really isn't focused on clementine anymore so much as they are putting they're full effort and support into establishing Javier as the main character and focus of the plot.
No way they kill Clementine. Javi? Maybe, probably likely, maybe even determinant.
Don't think they'll kill off their golden goose
I like Javier, so if the rest of season 3 doesn't suck like the first 2 episodes did, I'll gladly keep playing if Clem dies. Gabe I don't like as much though, so if he dies I'm mostly cool with it. No not because I'm an asshole who thinks Clem is perfection and he isn't good enough for her like the majority of assholes do, I just don't like his character so far. He isn't sticking with me.
Are you saying Clementine dying is less likely than Lee being alive and the fact that she'd be killed off makes less sense than said theory? Because with all due respect, sir. That is some serious bullshit.
(bet nobody will get that reference)
It is already heartbreaking ... because Clem is not the main character in season 3 and has less play and screen time ...
Whoo boy this again? As a fan of Clem ,though I would love to have her live forever, this is still TWD. Every TTG created character is a side character in the main universe of the comics. If we'd been playing as a member of Ricks group I'd be more damning of her potentially dieing. As it stands I feel if she dies it should serve TWD as a whole in some fashion. Hopefully something epic like helping save Rick from the NF. Have it be another burden on Rick that pops up from time to time. Maybe even it eventually leads to his death in a you have to look to catch it type moment. But I do want her to live! So if we do get to see Rick, He better not give Clem a reason to go all shoot first!
Honestly, I wouldnt be surprised at this point, it seems like Telltale has been trying to get rid of every single thing connecting A New Frontier to Season 2, why they did that? no clue, maybe to make writing easier, maybe to phase out Clementine? (I hope not)
This is probably why its called A New Frontier instead of Season 3, because the backlash of having Clem play a so far not very significant role, would probably not have gone over well if it had been called season 3, that being said, I really feel like Javier, and especially Javiers family, is really annoying, should have never survived so long from what we have seen so far, and most of all, are just really boring, I would have rather had them continue with Clementine
Yeah but it's just to attract new players, no other reason than that and now clem is suffering because of that retarded decision.
We'll see, guys and gals.
no to get rid of clem will be the end to the walking dead game the story from the beginning was focused on clem whether you played her or not to kill her off is an end to the game there is no continuation without clem killing her off means story over you cant move forward there is no forward point they would than have to either go with a remake of the game reboot the game or do a spin off but there would be no moving forward if clem dies
I couldn't resist. Sorry.
Exactly. The fact that she doesn't want to join the group is horrible, understandable but horrible. What if it's the last of her? I couldn't bear that.
I know right.
Ride Along reference! I love that movie.
I don't want Javi to die either but it may be a repeat of Season 1.
Show and game cross-over? Genius.
*not sure how much of your post is a joke/reference, but just in case
Telltale is more likely to do something implausible (see also: Sarah teleporting through the floorboards) than they are to get rid of their cash cow.
And I'm not a sir.
Not really. I mean minus clementine mostly everything from the previous seasons are gone and Clementine is nothing but a shoehorned supporting character in ANF. And btw technically ANF is a spinoff/reboot since it's not a S3 continuation and it has a completely new cast and main character.
Well actually that was a reference to Punisher: War Zone, but I do remember that line being in Ride Along so they're both equally good.
That's fair, I suppose.
Oh, sorry bout that.
Probably: No.
Hopefully: Yes.
She will return in Episode 3 of course. Either she tries to sneak in or will be captured. Since she's with us when you take her hostage and go with Conrad's plan.
As for the end of Season 3; we'll see. But I think it'll be the first time that TTG has 2 main characters survive and be lead in their TWD game. Which would be preferable. I like some dynamic with Javier and Clementine (and they can finally stop to kill every character off after every season).
I hope not. As disappointed as I was with the debut, I still want to see them get ANF back on track, ideally to the level the first two seasons were. I don't follow too many franchises nowadays, I'd like to stick with the ones I do and see the same care put into them as the games that got me hooked on them.
yea dude
Totally doesn't sound lazy and uncreative and cash-grabby.
