How I believe Clementine's Endings from S2 should affect her actions in Season 3
Sorry for the delay in my amazing fucking story that won the Oscars https://telltale.com/community/discussion/112889/the-new-unofficial-telltales-twd-season-4-plot-part-3 but something has been nagging to me in the past couple of months! Oh yes! We have been lied about Clem's personality changing in the walking dead season 3!
If i was the lead writer or choice maker dude, here is what I would do:
HOW ENDINGS CHANGE HER ACTIONS
ALONE
If you had the alone ending in Season 2, Clementine will become more aggressive and more dependent on survival. When you escape the truck in Episode 1, she would sneak up on you and bash your head with a bat or something; only for you to wake up tied on a tree with Clem stealing your shit with no remorse. You can then either persuade Clementine to be let free or break free yourself. She would also point blank kill the fake bullet guy by stabbing him multiple times before she gets locked up by Tripp who thinks she is crazy. Clementine would also not know how to drive so she comes at the Prescott gates by foot
JANE
If you had the Jane ending, Clementine would become more friendly but at the same time moody. When you escape the truck, she would try and greet you openly but still be cautious. She then explains that she is looking for a vehicle and you then make up a deal about her getting your van and you getting directions. She would also not get aggressive with Eli over the fake bullets and instead warn him about his mistake(Eli gets triggered and attacks until Clem is forced to shoot).Clementine would also not know how to drive so she comes at the Prescott gates by foot.
WELLINGTON
If you got the Wellington ending, Clementine would get incredibly anxious around people and quite trigger happy. When you escape the truck, Clem shoots Rufus if you do not choose to shoot. Clementine keeps a anxious and nervous attitude in Prescott and in the junkyard, always on alert. She would ask Javier to help her speak to Eli in fears of him becoming angry, in which he does so. Eli becomes pissed and Clem immediately fires, shocking Javier and the bar. Clementine would also not know how to drive so she comes at the Prescott gates by foot
KENNY
Clementine is more serious, mature and foul-mouthed. She greets Javier by threatening him not to move and observing the truck, checking if it is in good condition which it is not. She then asks Javier if he has a vehicle, telling him that she can give directions to the junkyard. The rest of her actions are pretty much similar to how they are in the actual game.
Comments
If Telltale did even a fraction of those things I'd be happy, really good ideas though! I think Jane's suicide should have an impact on her and the concept of suicide, if it ever comes up she should be very very against it perhaps.
Another idea I had was that, yknow in the Jane ending where you choose to shoot Jane or not? I thought that it could depend on whether you shot Lee or not in season 1. So it wasn't really a choice but more of a result of a choice way back when, as most people chose to shoot Lee to get her ready for situations just like Jane.
C'mon, Telltale. You seein' this?
If telltale was ran by the fans then we would have a fantastic game out right now
Oh my... i wish some scenerios happen like that. lets see episode 3 is the last chance for them to redeem themselvess
I don't think she would be that ruthless on the alone ending to the point of stabbing a guy like that. I think the way she reacts to Javier on the game is a pretty accurate way as how I would imagine her to react with the alone ending. She threatens him and steal his stuff (she does put the candy bar back if you ask but even if she's been alone for some time, I don't think she would turn out to be a complete animal) and she is overall suspicious of him. I also do not think her more friendly version would be with the Jane ending... The Jane ending should impact her more on a sense of not being able to rely on anyone but herself (since Jane basically abandoned her and AJ), maybe frown upon being in groups, preferring to be on her own, etc. Kenny on the other hand, did everything to protect her and AJ and wanted the groups to stay together so that should have some impact on how she treats people by being more open to give them a chance and wanting to belong on a group (which I think it's what happens on the game?).
But anyway, I don't think everything she says or do should be different according to the endings.. There's still plenty of time to see her reacting differently in future episodes on scenes that are actually important. But I do wish her first introduction was slightly different according to the endings. It just felt like she was on her own for a long long time regardless of the ending.
edit: wait... Now looking at your other thread I'm not sure if this one was meant to be serious or not. lol
Just because Clem was alone does not mean she would suddenly forego her entire character and all her morals and become a murderous psychopath, I think the way Telltale has portrayed Clem so far is fine, at least it fit very well with what I would envision her character being like, besides, she hasnt been alone all this time, she just prefers to be alone, she has probably spent quite some time in different settlements (A New Frontier for one, Prescott for another), she just prefers to be on the road
I agree with everything you said except for the stabbing part. I don't think she's that unhinged yet. But if things went as you said I would be extremely pleased.
I always thought it would be cool if you stole the medicine from Arvo, Clem would steal from Javier's bag and vise versa.
That's an awful ideal.
Part of the issue with Telltale is their attempted flagrant pandering to the fanbase.
If they'd take an actual chance and push a definitive plot rather than smothering everyone's shitty ideals onto a focus tested graph and running with whatever comes out, we may have a narrative with actual nuance and substance.
