What words of Wisdom do you think Lee would have Clementine in ANF?

Supposed there was a mother flashback of Lee, as there was in S2, what do you think he would say to Clementine, and about what?

Comments

  • A mother flashback 0_0
Also Lee would look like shit he better not show up anymore show us more flashbacks of Kenny lessons wasn't she with him for 2 fucking years?

  • Well, My Lee told Clementine to stay away from cities in Season 1 so his ghost would probably scold her.

  • Typo!

  • Probably something about being more trusting, but still watch her back.

But for real though, I think its important in A New Frontier for Telltale to show, that Clementine has probably moved on from Lees death, obviously she still loves him, and treasures the time she had with him, but I doubt she lingers on it much anymore, since there isnt really time and place to mourn the dead, especially not after 4 years

  • He'd probably wash her mouth out with soap first if he knew what she was capable of.

In a hypothetical flashback, I want to say that the only setting where Lee and Clem really have to relax is at the Motor Inn, but that's boring.

How about in Episode 4 at the mansion when the group are waiting for night time to pass so they can infiltrate Crawford? Depending on your choice, the scene could start up with Clementine getting ready to go to Crawford or her looking out of the window in disappointment, with Lee watching over her.

Clementine, looking out of the window, can see Kenny, Ben, Christa and Molly conversing by the boat. Seeing them relatively cheerful, Clementine asks why that is - to which Lee responds that the mission tonight is important and that if it's pulled off could mean the survival of the group. Maybe after this Clementine can respond with a hopeful "Yeah, that makes sense." or a pessimistic "But we haven't done anything yet. Things could still go wrong."

After whatever comment is made, Lee takes a seat at the couch and would bring up Kenny, resulting in a conversation like:

Lee: "He's had a bad couple of days - real bad. What happened back at the Motor Inn hit him more than any of us - he lost his whole family before he could even blink... Once that sunk in, and he realised he couldn't do anything about it, he got mad, and then... He felt empty."

    Clem: "...Empty?"

Lee: "...Yeah. Losing your family like that, everything you thought you'd have forever just gone... That's what happens. You lose yourself."

    silence

Lee: "He's still like that now, and he's never going to be the same Kenny we knew. But right now there's something different - something he didn't have before."

    Clem: "...A... boat?"

Lee: "Hah! Well, not just the boat, sweet pea... He's got... Hope. Hope that we can find a way out of Savannah and find someplace better. That's what's keepin' him goin' now. Just like Christa's hoping to find something to help out Omid. Just like Vernon's hoping to find stuff for his group-"

Clem: "Like how I'm hoping to find my parents there, right?"

    Lee: "...Yeah, exactly."

Another silence. Lee's optimistic tone/face fades. He fiddles with and secures the radio in his back pocket, which Clementine notices.

Lee: "But sometimes it isn't enough. Hope can only get you so far... And if it gets crushed, well... Maybe you'll end up even worse than before..."

Clem: "Lee... I'm not going to lose my parents. I'll find them - I'm not going to end up like Kenny, I can't - I won't." She says this with a confidence that's more like her S2/S3 character. This catches Lee off guard and he delays his response.

Lee: "...I hope so, Clem." He closes his eyes, his head resting on the wall behind the couch. After a time, Clementine curls up by the window and drifts off to sleep herself.

Sorry for the fanfictiony dialogue. But I prefer that over describing it, plus Lee/Clem related angst is always fun.

As for how this is relevant to S3... It could be relevant in a lot of ways. Most notably, with AJ, whom I personally despise but Clem doesn't so I guess it makes sense for her.

She'd have this flashback perhaps prior to when she does something drastic in order to get AJ, her only real family, back to her. The scenario I have pictured in my head is that she's preparing to betray or sell out Javier to the group that is holding AJ captive. At a moment of weakness, she takes Javier hostage mirroring their first meeting. This will present an interesting scenario, especially if you tried to befriend Clem, where perhaps Clementine is showing a lot of regret/remorse for what she's doing, but is justifying it for what's left of her family. No doubt she'd say things like "I have no choice... I'm sure you'd do the same for your family, right?" It could present a lot of internal conflict for her as she prepares to betray a potential friend for AJ.

Lee: Clementine! What do you think you're doing!? Pointing a gun at that man just cause he sold you faulty bullets? Now you've gone and popped his head and gotten yourself in trouble when you could've avoided all of this by keeping your cool. What happened to you sweet pea?

Clem: It was an accident, and besides he sold me soggy tampons too. HE HAD IT COMING!

Lee: That's no way to be. Otherwise you just end up as bad as them. That's not how I raised you!

Clem: I knew you for 3 months! Why aren't my parents giving me this talk?

Lee: They're on vacation. 12 years in Hawaii. I'm your spiritual guidance til they get back, or until I've got another Minecraft game to star in.

Clem: 12 years!? I-I can't believe this! They're dead and get to bask in Hawaii, and I'm left fighting every day just to get by and find some decent bullets and sanitary products!? Well they can stick their parental dreams hallucinations up their suntanned asses. Fuck it all, I'M GETTING A ADOPTED!

    Lee: Swear.

Clem: Oh go get a Carley hickey!

Javier:...Hey, I am the only one seeing this girl arguing with thin air?

    Tripp: Nope.

    Javier: Okay just checking.

  • Whoa, WHOA there! What about the poor new comers who don't know who Lee is? They'd be so confused! As much as I'd love to see Cardboard Lee, you need to think about the New Comers!

    Lee:

"Listen Clem! If a teenage boy lost his sister and is arrogant AF don't fall in love with him - even when the Telltale devs or players force you!"

  • Too bad the newcomers cant just play the previous games to catch up

    /s

really though, you dont start watching a TV series or an anime in the 3rd season, why would you pander to people just because they dont want to watch the previous seasons? (also, previous seasons of TWD game is better than A New Frontier, newcomers plz, just play season 1 and 2 instead)

  • It is kind of a shame all around, for the long time fans to have the third game geared towards new players and for this to be the impression The Walking Dead Game makes on new players after two amazing seasons.
