Clem DLC/Season 4 basically proves that ANF was never Clem's story.
This is pretty somewhat obvious, but Telltale this whole time through this whole awful season just kept feeding us lies. "Oh ANF is totally 100% still Clem's story! Just keep playing and see! "
Well here we finally are, the nightmare is over. But sadly, it isn't truly over. Like fans have been saying this whole time, this isn't Clem's story at all, she serves no purpose to ANF at all other than fan service and to sell the game because its Clem, people are going to buy it because its Clem. If ANF was truly Clem's story, she would have found AJ at the end of the season. But instead Telltale sees how they can just make more money, let me break it down:
-Telltale announces ANF and advertises it as still a Continuation of Clem's story.
-Everyone is hyped for Season 3 because we get to return to Clem, the character we care and want to be with again.
-Fans buy the game once its available due to Clem
-The game comes out, everyone sees all the lies about ANF and connections to past seasons, including Clem's story continuing.
-Telltale starts to pull the bullshit that its for "new comers" and that Clem's story is still MAJOR this season
-Season ends, Clem's story went no where, and now to ACTUALLY see Clem's story we need to pay DLC
Basically this kinda just proves that Telltale was and is just using Clem to milk money. The vast majority bought this game for CLEM and after seeing how this season ends just advertising DLC for what fans REALLY wanted is just annoying as hell. A New Frontier served as nothing more than just to make people pay 25 dollars extra for what we really wanted.

Exactly this. Also Telltale has lied to us before for other games, but it wasn't outright obvious. What I really want to know is what has happened to Telltale Games? If Fans can easily point out your bull shit than your company is complete trash.
Also can't Telltale Games just say that this game was Non-Canon, and everyone who bought this terrible game will be getting a refund. Seriously this game adds nothing to Clementine's story. (Because it was never about her to begin with)
Dude I'm sorry, but you shouldn't be buying the game for Clementine, it isn't healthy for the game. You should just put your trust in Telltale to produce a emotional journey, no matter what charecters are portrayed. I trusted that they would create great charecters for us to understand and connect with and they delivered (I hated Kate unlike most people which honestly provided an interesting gaming experience for me. I didn't hate ehr for bad writing, I din't like ehr morals, which is FANTASTIC). Although we all love Clem, and it was a bit below the belt to throw Clem into the mix for the sales revenue, I don't agree with you at all about what The Walking Dead should be.
Yeah the thing is though, Telltale didnt produce an emotional journey at all this season, instead we are just left with some worthless season that will just get DLC for what we actually were expecting.
It isn't healthy for the game? Sorry, the games health isn't my prerogative, the series has had a main staple for 2 seasons and through a good number of series, a central character is a major factor for fans because a continued story is why many people follow them. Sure, I got a chuckle at how absurdly Mariana died and the terribly contrived situations this season presented, but overall it was an absolute disappointment. The characters relied too much on you pretending to be this horrid protagonist and sharing his concern simply because you were him than it did on actually building relationships, David felt like the only genuine character throughout(likely because he was actually portrayed by someone Jeff was trying to be), and most others were victims of poor writing and lack of realism. We're 4 years into this shit, write characters that act as such.
What would happen if Clem was cut from the game? Honestly not much would change, Actually it would probably be allot better.
Nah, I doubt this was the original ending for Episode 5. They decided to stretch Clem's story about finding AJ out to another season/dlc and made it a cliffhanger to get us to buy the next game.
Well played Telltale.
Keep going on like this and your company's name will be a name carved on a stone before you know it.
Letters on a rock that nobody wants to visit.
You could literally tell with how the finale was written and the way it ended that Telltale realized how stupid this whole "reboot" idea was and just wanted to get it over with by just having Clem leave for another story. No sense of closure for either character, just speeding things along just so we can move on. Just sloppy.
I simply disagree with you gies, that's all. I think Kate and Gabe and Clementine had great writing. And I thought it was an emotional journey. let's agree to disagree
To be honest, I actually like Javiers story now. Playing as both Javier and Clem could have worked out, could if they actually did it right.
To be honest, I would be buying TWD games even if they kill Clementine.. I am not playing the game only for her, I just like the kind of interactive story in zombie apocalypse. So yeah, I am buying next season, and next, and next, and next.......
I feel like Telltale only put Clementine in the game to:
if Anything this season was just filler for the REAL Season 3 that, hopefully, comes out sooner rather than later.
Good thing I already have the season pass so I don't have to pay for the DLC right? haha hah... ha
I guess it's time for my video again. It's still true ... unfortunately ...
Now that's hilarious
Kate was the generic lover/crush, I mean I get that you feel completed but come on... Her writing was not good... until S5 ****SPOILER****
When she starts realizing the aftermath of her actions and try to correct things. That was the only time where she made sense.
Gabe was a generic brat. Was he even of any use throughout the game? Did he even impact the game?
Clementine is actually the only "masterpiece" of this season... the way her character development is based on your previous decisions is well thought. The way her reasons to change are affected by what she went through after S02. Even the physical scars on her that change depending on what you chose in the previous season's ending... She was great... but then again throughout ANF, we did not have any chance to influence her character development whatsoever...(by playing as her that is)
I think she's just there to make this season, and the events that happened, canon for future references.
Stevie wonder could clearly see this wasn't the slightest focused on Clementine at all. I'll be interested to see what telltale does with a future Clementine focused installment.
Welp. I for one enjoyed Javier's story. Do you really want to follow Clementine's story every season? Come on. It's about time we got a new main character. And plus his story probably has ended now Your opinion, m8.
Yes I do, absolutely. The walking dead is enjoyable for the characters that survive, for me Clementine is central to that.
Well thats one of the biggest things about ANF, it simply would have just been better if all ties to past seasons (clem) just wasnt in the game at all and was what Telltale obviously really wanted to do, a reboot.
This whole season seemed pretty much pointless. This game didn't deserve to belong to this franchise and Clementine was just there to fucking draw all the old fans. This new content better be a DLC and should be about Clem finding AJ so I can be done with this series.
When the first two episodes came out, I wanted to keep playing as Clementine and was pretty angry that she wasn't nearly as important as we all thought she would be.
Now I just want to continue the Garcia storyline hahahah.
Javi's story was enjoyable, but TellTale pretty much lied about the importance Clementine would have had in this season, which is inexcusable.
