This is end of Javier's story

At the end of the game, you could see phrase "Clementine' story will continue" and if it going to be in Season 4, we are going to play as her. This is why I think that Javier' story has ended, because Telltale cannot just handle so many determinant characters that could die or live at the end of this season. What's your thoughts?

  • Probably. Hopefully.

  • You're right I believe that is exactly the reason she left. And that's good let TWD have a happy ending once in a while there's no harm in that and everyone who was mad about not playing Clem gets what they want in the next game.

  • I dont know, maybe they might try it with all the determinant characters. Id like to see javi again even if we dont see anyone else.

  • Sucks. I really liked playing as him.

  • I could see Clem making a pitstop at Richmond next season and getting a Javi cameo but I'm sure his time as main character is over as his story is done.

  • I really hope TTG prove us all wrong and try with the determinant characters in the next season, it'd be nice to see Clem, AJ & Javi in Richmond again, leading a community together.

  • Honestly, I'd like to play as both Javi and Clem in Season 4 (an equal amount of time, the way they handled Tales from the Borderlands, for example). I like Javi and his story. I'd like to see more of him in the future.

The Garcia family drama is resolved (atleast in most endings).
Either Kate or David or both are dead.
There is no story left to tell.
He might appear in season 4 but not as a major character.
On the other hand Clem searching ofr AJ isnt enough plot for an entire season either.
So it will be either a DLC or might be told told in flashbacks similar to how season 2 got resolved.
I guess well get another timeskip and a completly new MC and crew with clementine acting as the deuteragonist.

I hope it doesn't "end". I really like Javi and definitely want him to show up in the future again, more than once. Maybe not as the main character, but he should definitely be around. He is a good guy, has a good connection with Clementine and as the leader of Richmond/New Frontier >and< with connections to Jesus and other bigger communities, he is a strong, important ally.

Telltale, just DO NOT kill Javi. Ever. Please.

Javi's time as the main character is done, but I think Telltale could possibly bring him back. Clem said she would bring AJ back to my Javi so he could teach that boy some baseball so I'm expecting it now, @ telltalegames

  • Oh thank god.

  • Certainly feels like Javier's story is over. What else is left to tell from his side of things I wonder? Clementine's story has some things left to tell due to AJ and why would Javi bother to get involved.

  • I just pray to god we can see Javier in season 4, just not as a playable character.

  • It made very little sense having him as a "fresh, new" protagonist just to get rid of him five episodes later, but hell, nothing that TT does nowadays makes much sense.

They literally used Clementine as a bait to lure old players back and kept her as a TWD icon, and gave her a little story to keep things going, but her main goal wasn't even achieved during this season, she just kept bouncing back and forth. She had no purpose to be in this season other than to encourage us to play the game. TT blatantly used her little face for money, it's obvious as hell and so trashy, very cheap move.

  • I hope not. Javi's such an amazing character and I was really invested in his struggles. I don't want him to be a one-shot.

  • Well, Javi asks Clem to return to Richmond after finding AJ. Where would both of them go to anyway?
Javi is a friend, Richmond is a quite safe settlement with connection to Jesus and therefore other big settlements. That opens the door for a "bigger story" that involves more characters and locations from the comics (hilltop, kingdom, alexandria etc.). I'd definitely love this.

  • I wouldn't mind seeing Javier again as a supporting character, I just hope they put some actual effort into making him interesting.

  • Javier needs to be a supporting character, otherwise Season 3 has been completely pointless and a rip off. JAVIER IN SEASON 4!!!!!!!

  • Javier was the only good part about season 3 so I have no problem with his family spontaneously combusting for him to make a return.

  • This caused me physical pain

While that was said, all critically acclaimed authors, writers, and directors rolled in their graves and vomited in their hands.

  • I think so, it was one of the few story arcs that actually ended well and had a pretty satisfying conclusion. I guess we could see how they lead ANF in the aftermath, which could be an interesting angle, but in all honesty, I'm happy about this ending for Javi's story.

Oh well. I'm able to move on and accept new protagonists other then Clementine.

  • The only time we will see Javi again is if we told Clem to bring AJ back. And my guess is they may take the easy way out and just destroy the city. Or maybe not. Who knows.

  • Bummer, but he got an overall satisfying end, and I would love to see him return...Just not his family and friends because Telltale would murder them point blank in an instant.

  • Yep. They know that there were a lot of upset people because Clem was more of a background character, so they had to say it out right that her story will continue. I really don't think we will be seeing Javi and whoever survived with him in the next season. Clem's new group will probable be the people at the ranch.

I also get the feeling this is the end of Javier's story with the next instalment focusing on Clementine finding AJ whether that be DLC, a mini series or a fill season. Most of his conflicts have been wrapped up and he is fairy safe in Richmond, if we do see him i think it would be with Clementine returning there with AJ.

  • This whole season was a disaster. So I'm glad we can move on from Javier and his family.

  • Bummer, but he got an overall satisfying end

And that's exactly why I think we wont be seeing him again. I love Javi, but I really don't see a need for Javi to make an appearance in the next season. Jane and Kenny made an appearance just because they were still necessary to tell the story. Javi is not. So I really doubt we will be seeing him.

  • prayer circle for Javi being a side character to Clem's story. Or a villain, I don't care. I want him to be relevant. I want to protect that smile of his and find him his own Jesus to romance.

  • I don't imagine we'll play as Javier again, but I'm going to be pissed if they keep milking Clementine and don't let her return to Richmond with AJ. She found people again and her goal should be to return to them like was established at the end of the game. She needs to come back for Gabe and so Javi can teach her and AJ baseball like he promised.

I'm just concerned that they'll completely wave away this season and have two or three more of Clementine with no intention to return to Javier and folks.

  • She needs to come back for Gabe

But Gabe can die though. If anything she's just coming back so she can raise AJ in a safe community.

As far as I'm concerned, a DLC of Clem getting AJ and returning to Richmond to have a reunion with Javi and whoever survived would be a happy and fitting end for Clementine's story. Let's be frank about it: it's either that or dying in Season %insert_number%, and I'd like my Clem to have a happy ending for once.

  • Sorry bro, but this is Walking Dead, shit never ends with a happy ending lol.

  • I wouldn't say it's pointless. I mean we're always going to have this awesome story. However it would be disappointing for Telltale to create this awesome character, get us invested in him and then never use him again.

Javi can come back just by one way the same way they did to clem with her season two endings by killng kenny and jane for good and screwing up willington, they have to do the same for javi and his family by killing gabe and kate and david for good.

  • Destroying Richmond would make every death (Kate, Gabe, David) in the finale pointless.

  • I'm aware, but they also made who you chose at the end (Kenny or Jane) pointless (which throws out the entire finale for that season) so it wouldn't shock me if for the sake of avoiding dealing with everyone's choices, they'll just throw it out. I mean, they've done it before.
