Javi as an "antagonist" would be very interesting actually. But for that to happen, Telltale would need to give him a reasonable, multi-dimensional motivation to do what he does. He has a pure heart. It needs a lot of development in order to come up with something that makes sense to go against Clementine.
If we were talking about Naughty Dog writing the conflict, I would trust it no matter what. But Telltale's TWD only had very cliche and dull villains/antagonists without any depth so far.
prayer circle for Javi being a side character to Clem's story. Or a villain, I don't care. I want him to be relevant. I want to protect that smile of his and find him his own Jesus to romance.
Telltale will most likely trash Richmond the same way Wellington was this season.
Clem returns to Richmond, but then: "oh, look, Richmond is dead. Let's move on to another location with new one-dimensional and inconsistent characters who all end up dead anyway".
I don't imagine we'll play as Javier again, but I'm going to be pissed if they keep milking Clementine and don't let her return to Richmond … morewith AJ. She found people again and her goal should be to return to them like was established at the end of the game. She needs to come back for Gabe and so Javi can teach her and AJ baseball like he promised.
I'm just concerned that they'll completely wave away this season and have two or three more of Clementine with no intention to return to Javier and folks.
Same. Clem gets AJ, returns to Javi and then please end Clementine's story there for good.
The more they keep going with Clem, the less ideas for future content they will have and it will only cause damage to the story more than it helps. Continuing just for the sake of sticking with a popular main character is a stupid idea. As a writer, you need to know when to end the story until there is only trash left.
As far as I'm concerned, a DLC of Clem getting AJ and returning to Richmond to have a reunion with Javi and whoever survived would be a happ… morey and fitting end for Clementine's story. Let's be frank about it: it's either that or dying in Season %insert_number%, and I'd like my Clem to have a happy ending for once.
I think we'll see Javier possibly at the very end of of Clementines story when we return with AJ. Honestly I think it's very fitting how Javier's story ended with him becoming the leader of a reformed Richmond with Gabe by his side.
I'm fine with this tbh. I liked Javier, but his story is finished now. It ended on a good note and there's far too many variables to consider to make him a main PC again. I am guessing that Clem's story ended the way it did so they could open her up to a PC position again, without being dragged down by the ending of Season Two.
Although, some of the "Your Clementine became..." screens stated how Clem helped Richmond so that her an AJ would have a place to go if they needed to. I think that if Season 4 takes place in and around the same area, then it would be cool if you run in to Javi or go back to Richmond, even for a small amount of time.
If they feel the need to keep going and include Javi in Season 4 (or more?), I'd like Javi to show up together with Jesus somewhere. Both in full kingdom armor, riding a horse and Javi with a modified baseball bat. That would be nice, right?
I wouldn't say it's pointless. I mean we're always going to have this awesome story. However it would be disappointing for Telltale to create this awesome character, get us invested in him and then never use him again.
I don't understand the recent hate behind Javier. Most people have liked him up until this point, and he was best thing about this season. One of my favourite characters yet.

i will miss javi but i think he will be back in season 4 with the bang
At first I didn't care at all about him or his family but..I ended up getting attached, haha. I'd really like to see a cameo from him in the future
Season 4 will all be about teaching AJ euchre.
I feel like Season 3 was Clem's side story. It's building up to Season 4.

You're going to have this awesome story.
It'll be long forgotten by everyone else.
This should be the end of the fucking "New players" attraction. Javi's story ended well. Continuing his story would be fucking pointless.
The way I see it telltale have learned that almost all its fanbase wants clem story AND ONLY HER to continue in s4 so yeah Javier is done for good
Yes, I get it. You hate the game and everyone who loves it is wrong. Move on.
I somehow managed to set him up as Dictator of Richmond, so that's a fitting end, I guess.
