Honestly trying to make a player care about a baby is hard in video games so it probably would have been the same or worse than what we got.
Well honestly, I think they'd need more than just the AJ thing. That definitely wouldn't be enough to get people to want to play this game. The Garcia family thing itself wasn't a bad idea, but I think the execution of it was a bit messy in the beginning, and kind of ended up snowballing so much that by the time it was all over, there wasn't much to remember it by. If we had gotten the chance to talk to Kate, David and Gabe more than simply the on-rails sections we got, I think it still could've worked. Y'know, as long as they kept the dual protagonist thing that people had been thinking it was gonna be in the beginning.
So yeah. The concepts were good, such as the new characters, the new communities (a more stretched-out conflict between something like Prescott and the New Frontier would've been awesome) and learning about what Clem had been up to all this time, but they just needed to be fine-tuned and extended to make it all worthwhile.
Oh, and actually incorporate the season 2 endings properly instead of screwing over the people who went with Jane, Kenny or Wellington. There was so much wasted potential there that it's not even funny.
Its happening regardless, so I don't see the dealio. Got a nice protag and an interesting story about family...And squints oh hi Clem. She helped.
