*A New Frontier* Could Be the Beginning of a Trilogy.
Something I shared on Reddit. Thought I'd share it here as well.
There have been videos and threads discussing and speculating cut and rewritten content from A New Frontier. There also is the rumor that the unannounced 4th season will be Clementine centered again. So far, we know that "Clementine's story will continue...", and AJ may be in the mix due to Clem saying "I'm going to find you AJ." To add to it, about a month ago, TellTale staff in an AMA revealed that Ed is not Clementine's biological father.
Adding to this, ANF felt like a giant exposition. I don't mean this is a disrespectful way. It just felt like the season was more of a set up of settings and characters leading to something bigger. The Saviors are introduced. Richmond is a location, setting some of the game in mid-southern VA (I'm from NOVA, so Richmond is south to us up here). We have the Garcia family (or what's left of them) giving us some connection to Richmond. Unknown characters do exist. ANF also brought both new and old players to a semi-converged point in Clementine's story. There also the unresolved question of where AJ is and the idea of what will become of Richmond.
With all of that being said, I feel like ANF is the beginning of a 3-season story arc. I theorize that the 3 seasons will take place within at most several months in the game's universe. There will be questions and themes that link everything together. Part 1 a.k.a A New Frontier seems like it is the story showing Clem regaining hope after having that hope taken from her and believed to be gone forever in the form of AJ. Maybe part 2 a.k.a "season 4" will test/question that hope and what Clem really desires. That will be the dark story part of the trilogy. Part 5 will be something to bring it all back to Richmond for some big finale, thus being the action oriented story that wraps it all up.
Do you all agree? Is ANF the beginning of a trilogy? Am I crazy? I hope it is a trilogy because that would a cool way to have multiple seasons without worrying about continuity and "what's next". Anyways, that's my thoughts.

They're going to split A New Frontier season 2 into two more seasons because it's too big.
I'm definitely up for A New Frontier to be a spinoff, but they should still let Clem's story be the MAIN storyline. I think its still a bit risky since not a lot of people enjoy this story but I really hope Telltale does this and hopefully peak the interest for those people who didn't like this season. Maybe bring some more iconic characters from the comics, bringing the Saviors would surely get the interest for every TWD fan. I enjoyed this season overall and I really like to see what the Garcia's do next
I'm thinking that if multiple seasons take place during the same time, that they should all end in the same spot at the same time, so the season after them all start where they all left off and connect to become a huge story with tons of conflict in the first episode.
Maybe make season 3's end determinate characters actually determinate, with different scenarios going on with each character either dead or alive.
Maybe some bad group finds Javi and follows him to somewhere.
And Clementine is getting chased by people who want AJ or Clementine hurt their friend to get AJ and their mad.
Then both endings of each season start in the same spot.
So then Telltale won't have to wait for the comics to continue, because each season starts right after the other. But having 3 seasons starting back-to-back would be lame. They could say that they take a time period of a few weeks. I think it's alright...
Can you provide a link to the Ed thing?
After all you have said, you may be right, because this season DID seem like a "build-up season" to me, too. I only hope that this theory is true...
Link please.

Not sure about trilogy, but it sure is beginning of something BIG for our clem's story. I said it in my earlier post here, ANF has been used as an instrument to give a head start and more strength to Clem's story
OH GOD NO PLEASE NO
Usually I don't buy these theories but I have a feeling you might possibly be right.
ANF getting the Star Wars treatment? I wouldn't mind, as long as telltale learns from the mistakes of this season. Interesting point about Clem's father, though. They'll probably build the story off of something like that.
Honestly it would make sense to do that in multiple ways. Telltale would be able to have 3 whole seasons with no time gap so telltale can keep producing TWD games and it would make sense why ANF felt like it was setting up the next season.
What will be even more interesting is have TWDG be broken up intro 2 different stories: one game about Clem and the other about Javi. Clem's Walking Dead story can be named "Walking Dead: Season [insert random number]" and Javier's story can be named "Walking Dead: [insert random group name]".
Of course, Clem's game will be the MAIN story and Javi's can be a side story.
nobody would buy javi's story. if they're going to bring javi back, they're going to make him a supporting role. i'd like to see javi and gabe again if the devs are willing to develop them and give them more depth, though i'm skeptical due to how many endings they were.
