I don't know about holding his anger back. It sounded more like he was thinking about the times when he used to be a demonic, homocidal zombie, and that he sort of found it amusing.

And about Guybrush being jealous, I think it's more of a self-esteem thing. On some level he's probably realized that Elaine is smarter and more competent than him, and should have been out of his league to start with. So of course he's going to be threatened by the fact that LeChuck seems to still be interested in Elaine in a way that she seems to respond positively to.
Or, to put it in a high-school dramedy context: Guybrush is the slightly nerdy, average guy who's dating the valedictorian, and he's getting upset by the star quarterback showing an interest in her.

I was thinking.. (maybe it's been mentioned already in this thread) .. maybe Elaine is stuck in Le Chucks body and vice versa.. Or some parts of Le Chuck is in Elaine and some parts of Elaine is in Le Chuck?

Nah.. even for MI that would be too odd :P

I think its more of LeChuck is in everybody else and some of Guybrush is now in LeChuck.....or he's just good now and everybody else is getting his evil side that's been purged from him.

Either way, I think this is the most interesting Monkey Island in a long time. For once LeChuck isn't the main villain (at least not yet, who knows what might happen). It reminds me of Twilight Princess where we think someone else is the villain for once and we hear nothing about Ganondorf but then he shows up and actually IS the main enemy. Whether LeChuch turns out to be the bad guy again or not, this is one cool storyline and I can't wait to see where it goes.

Epic is definitely the word for this game.

Ditto and I'm glad that they are focusing a lot more on all the main characters and not just Guybrush. I think this is the most screen time and dialogue that both LeChuck and Elaine have ever had. LeChuck is actually someone you can choose to talk to in the background and is not a forced part of the story. You can go in and out of conversation with him, that's a first for him.

I'm sure LeChuck is evil.He does control the pox after all.I think this is a masterplan of his to win Elaine's heart crush Guybrush emotionally and physically and acquire more power(as always). The poxed Elaine certainly has a thing for LeChuck and when she tells Guybrush to trust her I think she's more confused then confident and she's actually needing more alone time with LeChuck to decide who she likes more. She's trying to fool both Guybrush and herself that's she only wants to keep an eye on LeChuck. And LeChuck hasn't even once asked her to marry him!Considering he's been in love with her before he died I'm thinking he's just acting as a good guy so that his act and the pox could do their thing on Elaine.
One more thing-do Telltale even have the rights to turn our lovable evil pillaging lying ghost-demon-zombie pirate into a good-doer? I don't think LucasArts would forgive them for twisting Monkey Island that much, which after all is a cliche of itself.

EDIT:This is my first post!Hello everyone!

Hey, welcome to the forums man!

As for your post, I like where you're going with it, but it remains to be seen if LeChuck is in control of the pox. If he is, and I also think he is, then everything would be working to his favor. He would have Elaine, an army of poxed pirates, ultimate power, good looks, all the seven seas, and Guybrush losing everything. I think LeChuck is after the sponge to use it powers to soak up voodoo powers from other voodoo wielders such as the voodoo lady. He may have been using the poxed pirates to find it for him but once he found out Guybrush is still alive he decided to use him to do it.

Hey, welcome to the forums man!
    Thanks!
I do think LeChuck's in control of the pox though for several reasons:
1)when LeChuck turned human and Elaine told Guybrush to kill him his hand started swinging just when he tried to slice him with the cutlass.
2)His hand did anything in it's power to prevent Guybrush from leaving Flotsam Island which would ultimately lead to Guybrush's finding LeChuck, stopping him and getting back Elaine. His hand prevented him from breaking the unbreakable bottle with the breaker which would stop him from reversing Flotsam's winds and sailing off the island. It also stopped Guybrush from telling Winslow where the Rock of Gelato is so that Guybrush couldn't save Elaine.
It wasn't just being a jerk.. well mostly. It has a purpose!
As you guys like to say these are my two pieces of eight.

Maybe LeChuck has sort of split in two though. His evil essence is in the pox, and his human(e) part remained in his body. Just my two wooden nickels. :D

You know, I just had a random thought. What if the voodoo lady has been hexed by LeChuck. Maby he is partially manipulating her actions and got her to tell Guybrush to get the cursed sword, knowing it would make him human and allow him to control other pirates and make Elaine fall for him. He doesn't have complete control of her though, allowing her to still help Guybrush, but has a enough to alter some of her actions. That would also explain why she has that slightly evil laugh at the recap in the start of chapter 2.

Yes, it's quite possible. The Voodoo Lady seems meaner than usual.

I don't think we can ever truly say the Voodoo Lady is a 'good' character. She had a five-game deal with LucasArts (which is the only reason she has helped Guybrush), she told Largo (and probably others) that she disposed of LeChuck (not Guybrush), she sent Guybrush off to Big Whoop (perhaps knowing he would be lucky to escape alive) and she seems far too independent a character to fall into either category (good or evil).

Look at the stuff she trades: love potions, deadraisers, voodoo dolls, enchanted beads/necklaces, information towards deadly voodoo talismans such as the Ultimate Insult...need I go on? She's the 17th century version of what a drug dealer is today.
