By the end of episode 2, Elaine is definently suspecious towards LeChuck, mentioning that she might have to keep an eye on him. Did she see something evil? Could he be suffering from the pox, so that Zombie LeChuck could break free every moment?
LeChuck's human form is simply his good side, before he became corrupted with anger and rage that was the person he was before Monkey Island 1 when he was alive. I think as this game goes on, it will take an interesting twist, I think human LeChuck will be seduced by Elaine, and turned down, which makes him angry, slowly returning to his previous self, this is where he comes up with a plan to frame Guybrush and put him on trial and have him executed as a distraction for Elaine whilst Human LeChuck, now fuled by anger looks out to retrive La Esponja Grande with his small crew of remaining alive members (would include Largo) so that he can get his full power back and become some combined form of both Human LeChuck with Voodoo power instead of his dead body, making him more powerful than ever, making him, a Pirate God?

Hopefully she knows what she's doing. I mean the guy is three times her size.

According to the story in Secret of Monkey Island, LeChuck had always been in love with Elaine and she always refused him.
my theroy is LeChucks gd but evil LeChuck planed this from the start and is useing the good LeChuck for his plans
Only a programmer could think of that! Getting a function to self-terminate and call another in such a way that, without realising, the new function resurrects the original one, having achieved what the original one could not have done itself.
Maybe she knows? This sub-plot is not good for the children but to hell with it. They've made outright sexual innuendos already, so why not make it a spectacle adults can really enjoy? *hints about Elaine/Morgan porn*
According to the story in Secret of Monkey Island, LeChuck had always been in love with Elaine and she always refused him.
And that's the nice twist on the character, if his Human form has returned him before he started to become Evil, then it means it's Elaines fault, for all we know, LeChuck could of been crushing on Elaine for a while and the only way to get her attention was to be a bad ass and be the best bad pirate he can be, once he got his respect he tried it on with Elaine and got refused, well, told to drop dead, as he did.
So really, this could be repeating History for LeChuck, he could start falling for Elaine again and this kick starts the resurface of his evil ways and plotting how to get Guybrush out of the way.
According to the story in Secret of Monkey Island, LeChuck had always been in love with Elaine and she always refused him.
The only thing I can't get is where does "always" come from? I mean, according to Estevan, LeChuck had dinner once, didn't want to leave (fell in loooooooooove), she told him to drop dead and he, well, did.
I really like "nice" LeChuck, and that he was being kind of a dope just because he was so used to being evil and demonic and is still trying to adjust to being human. I actually kind of felt bad that Guybrush was being such a jerk to him.
I'm not really sure where the story is going with him, either. On one hand, he might be genuinely repentant and Guybrush's (and possibly Elaine's) suspicions are completely unfounded, or it just be an act and he's actually planning something diabolical while luring everyone into a false sense of security.
Also, it's interesting how he's the only pirate unaffected by the pox so far, especially since it originated from him. Everyone else is getting nastier while he stays insufferably nice!

We was already evil and fearsome when he was alive:
Pushed Grandpa Marley down the whirpool (or tried to), deceived Minie Goudsoup, etc.
Turning undead simply made nastier, but he was already evil.
Well... part 4 is called "The Trial & Execution of Guybrush Threepwood". I expect a role change. For once Lechuck will be the Good Guy & Guybrush will come back to life as an evil zombie. I mean part 5 is called "Rise of the Pirate God"... wouldn't that kind of describe Lechuck? I'm not saying that it would stay this way of course... at the end of the game something would happen that would make Guybrush human again & Lechuck a zombie again. It seems logical to me at least.
Note: Won't be using any spoiler tags since the title itself states that the thread will contain spoilers.
When you first meet up with LeChuck in this episode, he is talking to a grey monkey, saying something that sounds like gibberish. When Guybrush approaches, the monkey leaves and LeChuck arches an eyebrow (fishy, fishy), then turns to face Guybrush and completely changes his expression.
I just went back to recheck what he said, and this is the exact quote:
"Go and write with the shingle, the clam has almost grown feet."
If that doesn't scream 'coded message', I don't know what does.
I won't pretend to have figured out what the cryptic message means, but I had some fun brainstorming for ideas. Some of them are very conspiracy theory-like so they're not very likely, but what the hell, it's all good fun:
The message itself is strange, but the word 'shingle' stands out. The rest of it contains pretty common words, aside from 'clam', which is relevant to what we can see on the screen. But 'shingle' is just plain weird.
Since English isn't my first language and I only knew shingle to mean the tile thingies used to cover roofs, I looked it up and here's part of what dictionary.com has to say (specific parts bolded by me):
shin⋅gle /ˈʃɪŋgəl/
–noun
1. a thin piece of wood, slate, metal, asbestos, or the like, usually oblong, laid in overlapping rows to cover the roofs and walls of buildings.
2. a woman's close-cropped haircut. 3. Informal. a small signboard, esp. as hung before a doctor's or lawyer's office. –verb (used with object)
4. to cover with shingles, as a roof.
5. to cut (hair) close to the head. —Idioms 6. hang out one's shingle, Informal. to establish a professional practice, esp. in law or medicine; open an office. 7. have or be a shingle short, Australian Slang. to be mentally disturbed, mad, or eccentric.(mad scientist, anyone? xD )
Now isn't that interesting? There's a good chance it was chosen as a random word, nothing more, but I don't know, it seems like an awfully big coincidence to me that there's even a phrase used by doctors for this word. I never bought the whole 'LeChuck is now good' thing, but I wasn't certain whether he was allied with DeSinge or not. Now I'm pretty damn sure. And speaking of which, was DeSinge's monkey grey? I can't remember.
The rest of the message made little sense. The part about growing feet may mean that the plan is almost 'afoot', perhaps? Doesn't sound too far-fetched, but I could be way off. And 'clam' sorta sounds like 'plan'
So there you have it, my insane theories on LeChuck's message xD
This is how LeChuck should be like: Funny, but fearsome and powerful (not to mention undead): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQdeDmO3L4o The middle part when he's reborn gives me the chills, hehe
Beware! Spoilers for those who havent played MI3!

Nice analysis.
"Shingle" also sounds quite a bit like "signal," in which case the "go and write [...]" bit may mean something along the lines of sending up a signal to someone else. (Be it the Marquis or another, as-yet-unseen character.)
I think that Morgan is a bit jealous at Elaine, and that's why she says "ugh...Elaine"...
Probably a girly love-story-twist in the game... And I hope so, Elaine always took Guybrush for granted! BTW: Elaine did say "WOOF" about LeChuck in the first chapter... so he may be different than the first time she met him alive.
LeChuck is defenitly evil though, 'cause I can't imagine him otherwise and it just seems "off" for LeChuck.
I think LeChuck is just pretending, he is gonna turn sooner or later. In Curse (MI3) we saw that Lechuck left minie goodsoup at the altar after stealing from her. So he was evil even before he was dead.

Technically, IIRC, he did meet Minnie after Elaine, therefore it does not contradict "evil after meeting Elaine" theory some here have.
the human lechuck seems sincere enough, but i still dont trust him. he was sort of evil the first time he was alive... besides just because he's no longer a zombie doesn't mean his intensions have changed.
though the evil lechuck could certainly not have gone this long without killing anyone. he wouldn't have the patience. it was a miracle he went so long in escape from m i as charles l charles...
i still dont quite trust him though... and we've all found out how terrible he'd be at adventure games

If Morgan wasn't in the middle of a job, she'd totally make out with Guybrush.
While she's inside that manatee, I think she'll realise she has to rearrange her priorities.
But at the end of the episode, most possibilities end in her taking Guybrush back to De Singe. One other involves her bonding with Guybrush and giving up her job for him. We see a cozy moment out on the waves, then De Singe (plus maybe LeChuck and a few monkeys, Elaine tied up somewhere) closes in on them.
Have you seen the look on LeChuck's face when we first meet him on the cliff on Spoon Island (right after the monkey disappears and before he turns around)? He has a vicious plan including the monkeys and still is the evil pirate he's used to be. We just don't how what exactly is going on yet. Or, as Elaine said in the opening: "I think it's some sort of blood sacrifice...or maybe he just really hates monkeys? It's all been a little vague."
Someone here mentioned before that LeChuck might come together with Morgan in the end, as an exchange for Elaine, maybe? Hmm.."LeChuck & LeFlay" - coincidence? What do you think?
Call me crazy, but I like Morgan way more than Elaine.
I like Morgan's character more than Elaine, but I still prefer Elaine's body. Shame Elaine insists on having men run around after her all the time, while giving them no freedom or respect whatsoever.
Okay, I can't believe I'm saying this about a gaming character, but I think Morgan is much more attractive than Elaine. Plus she seems much more appreciative of Guybrush's skills. I hope she doesn't die like a lot of people are speculating.

I wonder if Morgan knows Elaine personaly, and hates her for getting Guybrush, the could explain the grunt Morgan made?

Uhm... actually, if Guybrush didn't replace root beer with root grog, nothing would have happened.

ahaha!!! or at least try! even with his excitement to meet a pretty mermaid, there's no way he'd cheat on elaine...

Yea, it would.
