Walking Dead The Final Season Ideas
I know that this sort of topic has been a bit overdone but I was thinking that if we kept this thread going that maybe one of the Telltale Staff may see what you want and may implement it into the Final Season. Do not be afraid to go into detail. I also look forward to seeing what you want in the Final Season.

That would be cool but I think that it was used in Episode 3 of A New Frontier except it was to show the stolen supplies from the raids from Joan. I could be wrong though
Don't get your hopes up. The staff might be Brother Eye sponsored ninjas, but who knows if they'd actually want to use any of this stuff, much less be able to.
Now see, the thing is most of what I wanted to see was used/invoked in ANF and then bungled/squandered by the end of it in some shape or form; Gabe in particular is a complicatedgummy example of this(and not for the shallow LCD reasons the community/internet immediately thought start to finish, even if it doesn't help). However, there are a few that could stand to be tried again and/or fully realized:
Personally, I'd like Telltale to touch upon Clem's personality problems this season, rather than focusing on finding groups, saving someone and what not. This is a story of a little girl who grew up in this apoclaypse, who had literally lost everyone and everything she cared about. She has fear(walkers, death, being all alone), regret (believing the stranger that he had her parents), sadness(memories of the past), guilt(Lee's, Omid's, Luke's, Kenny and Jane's death)... feeling all these kinds of emotions at such young age would break everyone mentally. I want Telltale to make our 3 season of choices matter in the last game, so that we can see how this apocalypse affected Clem's mental state. I think it would be a unique and interesting side of TWD.
I want The Finale Season to be dark, gory and sad which ANF didn’t have.
I just want it to be different than season2 and season3.
Start of the game > Problem occurs > Problem gets resolved > Choose between characters > End of the game.
A boy character that's significantly younger than Clementine currently is.
I want to go on a emotional road trip. Not like new frontier all action based
I think Clem should have a baby or at least get pregnant. Maybe with Gabe maybe with a new boy. It would be cool to see Clem become the parent of a little girl.
Don't ruin Gabe's return even more than From the Gallows determinately made it likely to be.
I mean if that's what you really want then okay I guess but seriously no please just no
ANF was dark and gory, it wasn't as sad as the other 2 seasons but at least it's something new and isn't basically the same game over and over. If they were all sad then we'd all know that a very likeable character is going to die by the end.

Look, his story ended in Season 1, there's no way we are going back on his case, unless he was left unknown(which I would have preferred).

Atmosphere:
Bringing back S2's stunning atmosphere and color schemes. The woods, the mountains, the snowy, cold wastes... Overall, the atmosphere of S2 was really well done and I'd relish if they were able to mimic something similar in S4. Also that menu... Oh, the menu...
Exploring bandoned areas where humanity once thrived like skyscrapers and big cities. Monuments of even older eras would also be interesting. P.S: If a community resides/uses one of these places, it obviously doesn't count as abandoned... though I'm not saying a small community residing on top of a skyscraper wouldn't be a cool idea :P
Season two originally seemed to have a pretty dark/hopeless tone to it. Clementine walking alone toward what looked like an abandoned snowy town certainly seemed to imply so. Hopelessness should be one of the Apocalypse's main themes, and it has honestly been underdone.
Story:
The whole TWD franchise has become awful stale with community vs community conflicts. I've dropped both the comics and the main show for this reason, it's just not engaging anymore, it's awfully predictable and, most of the time, one sided. Exploration of themes like survival, internal conflict within a group, moral challenges along the road, etc, would be incredibly appreciated themes to bring back to the table.
...Though I'm not saying community vs community conflict can't be done right. Carver vs Cabin Group was interesting at a time for example. I also enjoyed Fear S3A's conflict between the Otto's and the Indians, it was very Gray vs Gray.
There doesn't need to be a clear antagonist, most of the time introducing one makes everything feel that much more predictable. And god forbid they decide to create one of those Negan-like characters. I get it, they are awful easy to write, doesn't erase the fact that most of the time they are awful boring generic depthless pieces of shit, not to mention predictable.

I want a dark game. Dark and have themes of horror like S1.

I hope they have more nature areas, the entirety of ANF was in previously lived in areas or currently lived in areas
Characters that actually does something for the story Ala season 1 rather than most of the cabin crew in season 2 and anyone that werent Javiers family in season 3
Going down a darker path, really emphasizing the fact that you cant always please everyone, so far, for a game thats about the world going to shit, there is no point in the game where you get punished for doing the "right" thing (in quotes because right is defined by morals)
Dont kill Clementine, I know people want an emotional end, but it wont be very emotional if everyone can see the ending coming from a mile off, do something creative, find a good way to end the series without killing her, Lee worked because noone expected it (even though I was spoiled before I played, it was still emotional), but I feel like killing Clementine will just be another Lee in a way.
Build a really strong relationship between Clem and another character, the way Kenny and Lee had, make us really care about them, then hurt us by doing something to them, that would be a great way to solidify themselves as people who can create very compelling characters, as making a secondary character as valuable to the player as the player character is a tough job, but I would like to see them try
Have serious moral dillemmas, which will affect how you yourself, and other perceive you, and how you do, for example, do you steal someones food, and get known in the nearby community as a thief, making seeking refuge there that much harder, or do you not, but later youre too weak because you are too hungry to properly defend yourself/someone you care about, I want to see dilemmas that doesnt have a correct answer, like the Conrad choice in s3 (although that choice was weak in consequence), or the Larry choice in the freezer room thingy, I want choices to affect not only the people around me, but my own character as well, I have never been scared about giving away food in previous games, because the games are too morally correct, there should be choices that have consequences for doing the "right" thing, being good or bad shouldnt always be scewed towards being good

Thread: What I want in The Finale Season...
Make episodes at least 2 hours long.
Big hubs with puzzles to work out.
Decent character development for each character/ Be able to talk to every character in a hub with numerous questions and answers.
Make the background visible as ANF blurred every background in most scenes.
Make the deaths of certain characters, emotional.
The title main menu to be like Season 2 theme, not ANF theme.
No comic characters as it was ruined by Jesus.
I want Clementine’s and AJ’s storyline to not have a cliffhanger.
Add some returning charcaters as it is The Finale Season.
Make determinant characters matter and don’t handle them like, Jane/Kenny/Edith.
Make more interactions with objects.
Hard and more fun QTE’s.
Have a more gory and dark nature theme to the storyline as ANF was lighthearted to me.
Make every character unique and stand out.
Finally make walkers an actual threat, not community vs community!
What do you want in The Finale Season?
More hubs and a darker tone, definitely. Hopefully it forgets ANF the way ANF forgot Seasons 1 and 2. Less QTE superexplosivemichaelbayaction set pieces and more downtime with interactions between the characters. On that note, actual optional interactions with the characters. Season 1 did a good job of letting you feel like you were building a relationship with the characters because of the way hubs were designed, so I guess this all goes back to hubs.
I disagree here. I dont think that everyone needs an emotional death. One, or two, or even three is okay, but I dont think that we need to cry or getting sad for everyone just because they died. Some deaths need to make us happy or relieved. Besides, if everybody receives an emotional death, then they would not be special because all deaths will be the same.
I agree with everything else.
This is quite a good point. The aim of Telltale shouldn't be for us, as players, to be saddened or upset by every single character death. If this were the case—and assuming we actually are sad or upset in the way Telltale intends—we would start becoming desensitized to this dynamic and there would be a point where it stops having an effect on us altogether.
But sadness is not the only kind of emotion there is to have upon character deaths. I'd argue, as you mentioned above as well, there's a range of other responses Telltale should opt for depending on the character: shock or surprise, relief, guilt, feelings of unfairness and anger, confusion, disgust. None of these are the same as sadness, but they're all still valuable for the emotional experience you have while playing.
While it's true that we don't have to be sad whenever anyone dies, Telltale should attempt to have us react emotionally in some way. You realize you have a problem when you realize you're killing characters solely for the plot to move forward.
TL;DR: Make us feel something when a character dies even if it's not sadness.

I really enjoyed the stuff in Season 1 where you could give Clementine an energy bar in the store, and it would say something like "you took care of Clementine", and when you talked to her in some of the hubs, you could help her get over some of her fears or put her at ease with why you did certain things
Exactly what I'm talking about. As far as I know, you didn't have to give the candy to anyone. You could also give one to Duck, if you went over to check on him and the family in that hub. It's been a while since I've played, but I don't believe you had to do that either. Or check and ask about Larry. You didn't have to fix the swing set in episode 2 either. You could if you wanted to, but one of the brothers would do it if you didn't. Thing is, I wanted to. And it made the scene with Kenny, Duck, and Clementine mean more to me because I actually cared enough to do it. All of these things were pointless overall, but making it my choice made it meaningful to me as the player, it's little things that you can do that strengthen the players immersion in the game and attachment to the characters you choose to do these things for.
Little moments of freedom go a lot further than an entirely onrails experience, substituting that with an attitude of "we'll just hold your hand and tell you who you'll want to talk to" is nonsense and takes away from what made the series special in the first place. Compare that scene to ANF episode 2s gas station. You can walk up to everyone, say one thing, and that's it. I don't even know if they reply differently based on what you say. Their dialogue is spent after 4 lines, and then its right back to the QTE actionfest.
I'm alll for hubs and more interactions but I could really do without puzzles. In season 1 they just felt like a chore you had to do in order to get to the stuff you cared about. They weren't fun for me, they were tedious.

*Kenny returns at the end and reunites with clem (if he was abandoned at Reststop) also u can have the option to return his hat to him (if you stayed at Wellington)

i mostly agree with that except i kind of liked the puzzle in season 1 episode 4.
Fixing the swing in Season 1 is actually one of my favorite scenes, especially due to the time it takes place, its only 3 months into the apocalypse, so people still have the hope that the world will go back to normal, most of the characters alive during season 2 or 3 wouldnt use the time to fix a swing for like Sarah or Clementine.
Its also a great relationship building moment, and scenes like it are the reason people fell so in love with Clementine as a character, because we had alot of scenes drawing Lee and Clementine closer together, (or you could push Clementine away and hate her, which is what made Season 1 so great, you had choice to do what you wanted, in A New Frontier you had no choice to just say "fuck you" to Kate and leave her)
Well, obviously you can't just leave her for story purposes, which is also the case with Clementine. And while I haven't fully reexperienced the game yet, I do recall there being several choices where you could disagree or push away throughout, so I don't really get this complaint.
