Am I the only one who does not actually care for AJ? I just feel that Telltale do not even know what they are doing with the story anymore, to be honest.
Hon, I meant from Season Two and ‘A New Frontier’. I am saying that the writing has become worse over each season and hence my apprehension for the last season.
8 or 9. I'm not letting ANF ruin my anticipation. At the same time I'm cautious about how hyped I am. I don't want my otherworldly expectations to exceed the realistics going into this season. Hype has a way of ruining a something if you expect too much. So I'm excited, but cautious.
I'll happily watch the episodes uploaded onto YouTube, but I don't plan to purchase one for myself anytime soon, unless something groundbreaking within the season prompts me otherwise.
Current at a 3.

About a 6 or 7. Not really been thinking about it lately. I guess I just need to see more of the game before I make an opinion about it. I have faith in them to do the right thing though, I’ll give a strong 9 to that.

My expectations are very low due to Telltale's recent Walking Dead output, and what I've seen of Season 4 so far is not good at all (3rd person combat, kid focus, AJ still around, etc). I am just in absolutely no hurry to purchase Season 4.
On the other hand, I am a huge fan of this series so I still keep updated and hopeful to some extent.

Because all Telltale games use fixed cameras to good effect and for the devs to remove them just so they can introduce new combat elements - something that was never of high priority in these games - is a terrible decision that comes across as them trying to market to the mass audience (because combat sells) rather than from any artistic standpoint.
Never did I play through these games and think to myself "man this game is great and the story and characters are amazing, but what it really needs is an in-depth 3rd person combat system!".
Well, when your games are generally agreed to be getting worse, the stories aren't as well-told and even consistent, and your character's are underdeveloped and not as fleshed out as they could be, you kinda have to see reworking the system you've been using for years as a saving throw.

About a 7 or 6.5 currently. Still a month or so away, so don't really have a reason to be hyped. Should increase the week before or of, but I'm very curious about what feedback they take from the no longer trusting or hesitant fanbase. They still haven't disappointed me (As a whole. There's some episodes that aren't so great at times) so I'm optimistic either way.
Agreed. The issue is that if they want this game to be as great as season 1 then they should actually work on those qualities of great storytelling, memorable characters, etc. that you mentioned, and not focus on trying to introduce new gimmicks like 3rd person combat.

An 8. There's so much potential for this game. I'm a little skeptical about the new "unscripted combat" mechanic fitting the flow of this story, but as long as the story is immersing and works well with these new characters, I won't mind. As the new trailer rolls out, it will probably become a 9.5
AJ has been a very minor character thus far in the series (being a newborn in S2 and a toddler with only flashback cameos in ANF), so it's only natural that players wouldn't feel too attached to him yet. But the overarching story is about Clementine.....how her experiences shape the woman she has become, and how that translates into protecting AJ.
With that in mind....your comment about Telltale not knowing "what they are doing with the story anymore" is premature, if not outright wrong. How about actually playing the final season before making that kind of judgment?

Obviously if the "unscripted combat" takes away from the story and character development it wouldn't be ideal. But it has the potential to make hubs more interesting.

Like an 8 or 9 ?
I'm really excited when I think about how good it can be and how interesting Clem's story might turn out but then I remember how bad the S2's latter episodes and ANF were and I think this might turn out kinda shitty too
I don't want to give it too high of a score as each season has been more disappointing than the last, however removing Kevin Bruner and taking more time to develop the game is a step in the right direction. I also ear we're getting longer episodes which is definitely a plus however we're only getting 4 so that might be subjective. Still more hope for this game than I did for ANF

I don't expect it to be above average. A New Frontier and the latest seasons of the show ruined my love for this franchise. I can happily watch my favorite youtubers (Swingpoynt, @MetallicaRules and Jacksepticeye) play it but if I hear that it gets great reviews, like a solid 9/10, I might give it a chance but I can't promise anything. I learned from ANF and Outlast 2 that I should not purchase a game at launch without knowing their reviews.
6 right now. ANF really shattered my faith and even though I am coming into this season open-minded I still did not see enough of the final season to build up my hype. Just wanted to record that and see how it changes after upcoming teaser and gameplay.

hesitant to say 9
The season hasn't even started yet...

I say the same about most games, yet it is the first thing I buy when I come home. ?
Anyone saying otherwise that are on these forums are lying.

10 because I'm not going to let ANF and other players ruin my experience for the last season of Clementine's story
Why is 3rd person combat a bad thing, if persecuted correctly?

but are you going to buy it? Because then it's an 8+, otherwise you're just a rich kid.
I can assure you I'm no rich kid, however I'm still conflicted on whether buying the entire Season Pass is a good idea.
I think more excited then I was for ANF
A solid 10! I've been a fan of TTG's TWD since the demo came out for Season 1... I really want to see how the story is concluded with Clem.
The sheer negativity on these forums is toxic
