The reasons why people want don't nod entertainment to finish of walking dead the final season

The reasons people want don't nod to finish the walking dead final season are 1 they know how to tell stories in a episodes format aka life is strange. 2 to give fans an ending to Clementine and her story 3 they get there inspiration from telltale 4 they can keep up with telltale quality . 5 a chance for the voice actors to say good by to there characters

  • For a second, I thought this was about why people don't want it.
I'd need to actually check out their game to have much opinion.

  • I don't want that. DontnoD's writing has always been way to corny for TWD. It just doesn't fit.

  • I believe I read somewhere that the scripts for Episodes 3 and 4 are already complete and finished, it's everything else that hasn't been worked on yet. While I certainly share your concerns about Dontnod taking over the last two episodes (for reasons that should be obvious to anyone who knows my opinion of LiS), so long as they don't change the script or throw in any sort of LiS-esque dialogue, I don't think that's something we have to worry about. It's the OTHER problems with Dontnod we would have to worry about.

  • The reasons why its not going to happen:
    1. Telltale is using its own Telltale Tool and they are not going to share it with another studio just because fans want it.
    2. Dontnod would have to buy a license in order to even finish this up and they are more into creating their own original series. Besides it wouldn't even be profitable for them at this point.
    3. It wouldn't be the same unless they hired the people who worked on TWD.

I just hope don't nod do it after life is strange 2 finished it's run as I don't mind waiting i don't want the quality to be harmed on such a wonderful game that is life is strange

  • Besides it wouldn't even be profitable for them at this point.

It would make for positive buzz though.
Hence part of the rationale behind my trending threads.

  • But I think the writing is done for the entire season, so I see no problem there. If the company is decent enough with the rest, I'd take it.

  • Yes because we live in the world were people do charity out of the kindness of their hearts. Wake up, business is not charity. IF any company bought Telltale or at least the rights to finish TFS they would do it ONLY if it was profitable. No one, I can guarantee you, no one is going to do it if they are going to lose money because of it.

  • DontnoD would need to learn the Telltale Tool, which they won't since TWD is the last game to use it.

It wouldn't make sense for DontnoD to use it.

  • That's why I specified positive buzz, floppyhead.
In this case, Dontnod--a company [apparently] inspired by Telltale--swooping in to help the closing company ensure one of it's most well-liked franchises fully get the conclusion it was only able to half complete?
That's bound to get them attention and brownie point--doubly so if what they eventually escort out lives up to what would've been expected under normal circumstances.

  • I think that the only company that can save TFS is Skybound since they have their own spoon in the soup aswell

  • Why would they even want that tho? No offense but they don't need attention and said brownie points. They already earn those from their successful LiS series. I stand by what I said. Helping out Telltale at this point isn't profitable for anyone which means no one will step up.

  • This is a great idea in theory, I hope DONTNOD is seeing the crisis about TT, man it is so sad the TT creatives were bled dry (smh)

  • Good to know The Walking Dead really is a waste of time, then.

  • It depends on who you ask. If you ask me, a loyal fan who would to anything to see the end of Clementine's story, then no - TWD isn't a waste of time. If you ask a big companies only caring about how much money they spend and if by spending it they earn A LOT more of it, then yes - for them saving Telltale or at least helping finish up TFS is a waste of time because they won't earn any significant amount of money from it. They can only loose it.

  • They can't do Telltale's games, just bleurgh. All anyone needs to do is show an image of Clementine or AJ, and then compare it with an image of Max. DontNod's artists, design, writing, everything about them makes them a B-Tech telltale. No-one does it better than them. It's the reason why Done Running is just so good.

  • Well, that' not very nice for me.

  • People probably should remember that Dontnod only ever did episodes with the Life is Strange Games. Vampyr is a complete experience for example...

  • I wouldn't mind, but why would Dontnod do that? They don't need the success from other games, they already are very successful. Some people may hate LiS, but they are the minority.

  • Who the hell are don't nod? Also, what the hell is google lol

    Who are "they," btw?

  • Sorry, by "they" I meant those companies who look only towards money, which is normal. They are after all companies trying to earn money, not charity organizations.

  • My thought's on only hearing that particulair name.

  • Lol, I mean, I enjoyed Life is Strange.

But Life is Strange is kinda shit, and doesnt deserve nearly all the praise it gets

  • I like it too but honestly the reason it got so much attention was that it was the LBGT coming of age game with Max and Chloe, and all the well thought out sequences and characters couldn’t disguise the fact the ending sucked, ignoring everything that the player had done with two different endings distilling everything into Arcadia vs Chloe. That’s the sort of issues that we might have to consider if this happened.

  • The funny thing is, people are acting like you are a monster if you choose Arcadia.

Even though Chloe is kinda selfish, kinda an asshole, and it never really felt like Chloe were giving much back compared to what she demanded from Max

  • I know right? The problem is that the final episode spends way too much time bigging up the final (and only important) choice in that episode. I got the impression that the Save Arcadia ending is the canon one, though apparently a comic book is set to explore the aftermath of the Save Chloe ending...

  • Nice, now I know everything I need to know about that game.

  • Comic book isn't canon, it's just what if scenario from completely different writers.

  • How terrible and how absolutely corney it be, next they'll give Clementine the ability to kill walker by back talk and 30 second lag time during convos. Nah
