Eh, Meh, and Bleh Characters

We often talk about characters we like, characters we aren't fond of, and characters that leave us feeling polarized. But what about the others that don't truly fall into these categories, for better or worse?
What are some characters that you feel are fine but don't really stand out, not your cup of tea yet seldom bother you, or simply exist outside of either end altogether?

I'm just gonna stick to the main story's characters. The side stories and spinoff characters can all classify into these categories if I include them and I just don't have the energy to wiki their names and that in itself says enough about their roles.

    Fine but didn't stand out
    Season One: Chuck

Season Two: Alvin. He went out like a real one though.

Season Three: What was the black guy's name again? Tripp's friend. It's weird that I actually forgot, since he sort of became a meme, but yeah, him. And Eleanor. I liked her. But such wasted potential.

Edit: Conrad was his name. I remember now.

Season Four: Omar, Willie tha G.O.A.T, James, despite the hype surrounding him and the Jamestine ship. I only have him here because he's very soft spoken and we got about 5 minutes with him. 10 max.

Not my cup of tea yet seldom bothered me
Season One: Kenny. I think that's it.

Season Two: Am I allowed to say Kenny again? Cause Kenny again. What was the black guys name again? Jesus Christ :s Umm. Fuck. You know who I'm talking about. Him. I just really don't feel like looking it up right now. I wanna say Mike. His name is Mike, right?

Season Three: Clementeen, What was the doctor's name again? Lingard? Him. Clint. Rufus. Max. Damn near everyone really. Just a bunch of uninteresting people left and right.

Season Four: Mitch. Abel. He's like a walking Try not to laugh fail compilation, but due to the actual content of his character, I'll place him here.

    Exist outside of either end
Season One: Ummm, Duck I guess? I'd probably place him under fine but didn't stand out. He made me laugh during the investigation scene though.

Season Two: Ummm...Tavia, I guess...Becca and Shel too I guess, but they're primarily 400 days characters and I said what I said about that, but they were, for whatever the reason, irrelevant when I fully expected Clem's journey to clash with theirs, obviously with the exception of Bonnie.

Season Three: I don't think anyone can be placed here honestly. I want to say Tripp, but his quotes were hella entertaining. Lonnie, I guess? Ironically the least memorable black guy in the story is the one whose name I remember off the top. That's funny.

Season Four: Ummmm...Nah. Can't place anyone else here. Everyone else classified in the places up above. I either liked or loved everyone else.

    Willy

Willy thus far has been very under utilized and completely uninspired. I literally could watch him get chainsawed and feel nothing. I have no connection to the character at all. I really hope they give him more plot time and more importance. I hope he gets some extra layers underneath the exterior. He is just kinda odd and in the way.

Hawaiian Dude from the Michonne Mini Series

If I don't remember their name and they were a main character, that's bad. He was just never really interesting. He was just there and no matter what you do he bitches like a diva. Sam did most of the carrying of the michonne series personality wise imo, Michonne was cool, Sam's dad was awesome although short lived and even the kids were interesting. But Pete (googled it) was just a character with plenty of screen time but not much moments I remember that were great.

    Crazy Jap lady from ANF

Some will disagree with this one, but I just get nothing out of her. And she's literally the MAIN antagonist of the game. someone who is supposed to make you mad or inspired or just leave you awestruck like Carver, the st josephs or even the delta have. But really Badger pissed me off, Eleanor carried the plot of betrayal and really Joan kinda just hung around and had other more hardcore people doing their bidding.

I can't think of many more characters to out. Because as the description says it can't be someone I just hate or love. The rest like Lilly are just scum.

    Edit:

I looked at some of the other responses and found others too. Sarita was a waste of potential and could have been a amazing rock for Kenny after Katja and Walter was uninspired. They tried desperately to make his death tragic but it wasn't for the player.

  • Eh,bleh, meh and hell nah and also with a bit of spit the reward goes to

    GABE

  • Gabe, just Gabe .

    Interesting.
Also, I just realized I don't know where he falls for me.
EDIT: He's okay, which I consider separate.

    Vernon for me

  • Care go a little bit into Vernon, Violet, and Walter?

I tried to cut out minor characters and characters that don’t add much to the story. Season One: Vernon and the Cancer survivors Season Two: Sarita, Walter A New Frontier: Eleanor, Joan, Badger, Clementine The Final Season: Violet, Abel

  • For Vernon, it was kind of difficult. Honestly every character in the Walking Dead first season is dynamic in his or her own way, and I just thought that Vernon was the least of the bunch. Vernon kind of felt like he was just there to be a red herring against the Stranger.

For Violet, she just seems kind of bland from my point of view. We don’t know much about her, and she doesn’t have much personality besides being the one to step up and take charge of the camp. Other characters like Louis, Ruby, and Aasim at the school, while we don’t know much about them either, all feel like they have very interesting personalities that are fun to watch.

For Walter, I thought he was sort of interesting for the amount of time he had, but he didn’t have much to do besides be a good dude and get killed. While I did like the conflict between him and Nick, it did kind of feel like padding the runtime of episode 202 so we could get to Carver. And since he died almost directly after, he didn’t have time to develop into too much else.

I don’t dislike any of the characters, in fact I don’t even really dislike any characters at all (even Gabe), but I don’t think these characters were utilized as well as they could have been. They just didn’t resonate with me as much as some of the others. Although Violet still has two episodes so we’ll see.

  • For me it's

    Season 1 : Brie,like seriously she's just there..and she dies,ok.

Season 2 : It's Sarita, they had the potential to do something else with her, instead she became a Katjaa 2.0 Yay.

Season 3 : Yeah,as much as i like Jesus from the comics,he didn't do much it's a shame really, and Max had some potential but disappeared of the story after episode 3.

And also Eleanor what a useless character seriously.

Season 4 : so far it's Omar and Willy,Willy will probably get more screentime next episode but i'm scared for Omar i hope he gets more scenes before he dies.

  • Mike. He's not unlikeable, but he leaves no impression on me at all.

  • Clementine in ANF. Although I didn’t dislike her like others on this site did. She was somewhat irrelevant to the story, which was unfortunate because she was kinda the reason why I even considered watching a play though of the game. You could completely remove her from the game, maybe tweak the dialogue a bit, and ANF would play out exactly as it does now. She was also cringeworthy at times, especially when she talked about AJ.

  • Does TFS have multiple save files?

Season One: Brie Season Two: Sarita A New Frontier: Jesus, Max The Final Season: None, but I expect Omar or Aasim (didn't help that I didn't go hunting)

Bringing this back to appease a mental tangent I went on an hour ago: Mitch.

Back when The Final Season premiered with Done Running, the first 2+ hour long TWDG episode is years, I made a thread named "Season 4's Initial Weak Link." While it was overall done as part of a minor collective effort to gauge where some of the weaknesses of the season were on the onset, it was directly "inspired" by this guy. The tallest delinquent and likely one of the oldest of Ericson's Boarding School for Troubled Youth, Mitch was also "notable" for being the Generic Guy of the new characters.

Every other character was some mix of narratively important, well-defined/distinct, and/or having their moments/monikers. Mitch, on the other hand, was just particularly extra, nondescript, and wasn't particularly memorable. The only distinguishing elements of his design was his height, his fittingly plain name, and for me at least, his "Javier's Illegitimate Son" appearance.

Come the second episode Suffer the Children, he got a burst in terms of characterization/prominence vaguely reminiscent to that of Kenny/Jane in Season 1/2. Rather than just some everyman or minor character who mostly hangs in background, he's tough guy-type who was challenging what he didn't like and/or what others did. He also happens to be almost strictly utilitarian in depth and dull as a rock.

So yeah, as I've said a couple of times before, Mitch is my least favorite, interesting, and appealing of the collective good guys and even some of the villains.

  • Mitch was the only kid in the group who wasn't "Clem's best friend" and created some conflict,i wish they kept him alive or made him determinant.

Lol wat? How does Kenny not stand out lmao. I’d understand if you put him in the “not your cup of tea yet seldom bother you,(Bleh)” category, but Kenny is like the biggest “In your face” characters of the series.
