I bet you IGN is going to trash the series final

edited February 2019 in The Walking Dead

Without a doubt IGN has been Delusionally hsrsh to TFS then I’m not gonna be surprised if they get us a one star Which wouldn’t really surprise me, especially if they give ANF all the glory and I’m like are you kidding ANF is a C- of the franchise.

“I MEAN GIVE ME A BREAK!”

IGN needs to fire the person giving those ratings and hire one of us we will rate properly on how thing should be!

Would you agree?

Someone please explain to me how Cam, fucking Cam is better than all these movies. My message to everyone reading this; don't ever judge a movie based on the Critic score. Judge a film based on the Fan score or better yet, don't judge a movie until you've seen it. IGN is bad with their critic score too. Critic scores are such bullshit. IGN gave S1 a 9.3/10. One IGN critic gave ANF a fucking 8.8/10. How the fuck? Moral of story; Critics are dogshit with pretty much everything.

  • Agreed 100%
Another example of this is films like the recent venom movie which people hated and critics too but I loved it despite people telling me that I'll be disappointed with it.

  • I loved Venom. Two hour film that felt like one. Why? Because I was entertained for the whole thing. I liked the recent Predator movie too. Don't know why the score was so low. The Predators fuck up so many people; so why is so poorly received?

  • Critics are a group of people's opinions mixed up in a blender then u get the final product aka the score....sometimes they differ of our opinion because they judged it based on their entertainment and thoughts... I don't rely on critics for my movie taste.

  • Reviews are what convince people to play/watch movies. They do it for movie commercials. They post their rotten tomato score. If people are uncertain whether or not they should buy a game or movie, they look up reviews. So someone looks up Walking Dead: "ANF has a good score. Must be a great game." What they'd just do? Waste their money on a dumpster fire of a game. Scores and reviews are for people who don't anything about game/movie. So it's important for their review to be accurate, that way people know what they're spending their money on. Imagine you've never heard of ANF. You're curious about buying it because you're a Walking Dead fan. The reviews for it are good; that convinces you to buy the game. Then you are incredibly disappointed with the product. Which means you wasted your money on a game you'll never play again. This is why accurate reviews are important. The consumer shouldn't be mislead on a product just to make a few bucks. Wouldn't you agree, man? You're a smart guy, you know gamers can be screwed over by industries. Look at No Man's Sky, we were told lies just to sell a game. Look back at ANF teaser. The devs were smearing the truth and exaggerating what the player would experience. "Players will get to play as Clementine throughout the story." Yeah, for like five minutes.

When looking at the TomatoMeter, it's important to keep in mind that the percentage isn't an accurate representation on what critics feel the quality of the movie is. It's just the percentage of positive reviews the film got that are catalogued on the site. It doesn't take into account, the level of enthusiasm the reviews have. For example, all of the critics could have said "Yeah, this movie was decent, I guess. Wouldn't watch it again, but worth at least one viewing" and the TomatoMeter would still be 100%. If you want to a different aggregation site that catalogues what critics feel the actual quality of a film is, Metacritic is more reliable for that.

Someone please explain to me how Cam, fucking Cam is better than all these movies

Nobody said that it was, not even the site itself. Cam only has 82 reviews catalogued and the average rating is 7.1/10. The majority of critics just think it's a good enjoyable movie. Very few of them think it's a masterpiece. The percentage would probably be in the lower 90's or high 80's had more reviews been catalogued. Shawshank Redemption does have a slightly lower percentage, but the average rating listed is 8.2/10. The average rating is another important factor to keep in mind.

Moral of story; Critics are dogshit with pretty much everything.

I dunno, bro. I'd argue, the general public is way worse. They have more of a reputation of taking something that has the slightest hint of depth and nuance and then hyping it up as groundbreaking and revolutionary because they've been exposed to nothing, but typical substance less Hollywood bullshit for most of their lives. Like, I enjoyed Black Panther, but are you really gonna sit there and tell me that it's Best Picture worthy? Not saying, I agree with critics 100% or disagree with audiences 100%, but I'm more inclined to side with critics just because they've actually studied the art of film and I think give much more educated and nuanced takes than half the people on the internet.

  • Do not forget that RT gave Sharknado, which is one of the worst movies ever made, a 82% score. And it's fucking higher than a masterpiece like Home Alone which, for some fucking reason, has 63% and that's a movie everyone watches every Christmas season.

  • That is because it is trash.

  • Honestly, I have to agree with this. ANF had it's problems but I can still see why new people would like it, it seems like most of the problems people had with it came from people who had been around with the series and measured it against that. Also, people still take them seriously? 7.9'd isn't a thing anymore, or am I just old enough to remember it? Smh.

I bet you like games like Metal Gear Survive because poking zombies through fences is definitely better than a game with tons of character development.

That's not how these scores work or how they're supposed to be read. The percentage is the percentage of how many of the critics gave that movie a positive review. Because of that, you can't compare the score of movies with each other, since some movies have more or less reviews, than others which also dictates the percentage.

Critics are just people with their own opinion. This unhealthy and often times toxic relationship between the users and the critics is really baffling to me.

This. Like, you obviously don't have to agree with critics and you should think for yourself and not take their word as gospel. But good lord, people act like a critic having a different opinion than you on one product is like advocating for animal abuse or something.

Just curious, man. Do you actually read any of the reviews and listen to what any of them have to say or do you just look at the score and then project? It seriously seems like the latter is what you're doing. If the reasoning the film got positive reviews is because they viewed the film as softcore porn, then wouldn't films like Showgirls, Bollero, and the Fifty Shades trilogy been well received? Just seems to me like you're projecting your own insecurities onto the critics and assuming malicious intent when there's really none to be found.

Maybe one the reasons Cam was so well received by Critics is because the entire film is a soft core porn

  • I read like the first five reviews of movies I'm interested in seeing. When I read the reviews for Cam, people were talking about how the film is a "conversation starter." But what conversation is there to be had with this film? A girl dances in front of the camera than a clone of hers shows up. Why does this happen? Where does the clone come from? How is any of this even possible? I would've given the film some props if the protagonist learned anything but no. She solves her problem and just goes right back to cam work. So, what was the point of the movie? Girl starts and ends movie as a cam girl. Does she develop into a better person at the end? No. Does she solve any of her problems with her family? Not really. So how does a film that has no moral story or some kind of message have positive reviews? You like the movie? Fine, I won't hate you for it. Just boggles my mind that this movie was ripped to shreds.
