What do I need to feed the sponge first and how?
  • edited October 2009
yeah it was awesome. did any1 notice that evil le chuck was voiced my earl boen again?
  • edited October 2009
I have one burning question though...what happened to the body?
  • edited October 2009
So, I think the prediction of seeing the Ghost Pirate Threepwood is coming true...

So who did kill Morgan? Was it LeChuck? Will she pop up as a ghost?

Glad to see he still was evil.
  • edited October 2009
    Okay, just finished it.
    I miss old Lechuck. =\

EDIT: Anyone else notice Majus generally got the ending right?
  • edited October 2009
Yeah the ending really was insane! How are we going to wait an entire month now to see what happens?

This episode was so much more kill-happy amd shocking than I was expecting..Morgan, De Singe and Guybrush all in one game? Wow..

Here's hoping that Morgan isn't really dead and she's going to be back somehow Although bringing back both her and Guybrush might be kinda pushing it.

    A few quick thoughts...
-Amusing to see how many people's predictions came true, or at least appeared to be true.
-This Gavin Hammon fellow was the PERFECT Stan.
    -Earl Boen's back! Woohoo!
-If we still get complaints about the series lacking "darkness", then it'll just be proof that people can never be satisfied.

OK now that ending was a cliffhanger at it's finest. So many questions. A main villain out of the game, another main villain right back in.

I loved the fighting animations of Morgan and Elaine in Club 41. Overall the puzzles were much more challenging this time around. I rarely stopped to think in the previous episodes but this one made my head spin at some points. The SHOCK course carpet puzzle for the sponge was hilarious.

If you look at the "Wonder what happens" vids closely you can tell that he apparently gets some inside info. The environments from Narwhal were spot on what the game was like. The whole Murray thing in the Leviathan vid and several other details (like how did he know that Stan was in Ep 4). I think he gets to play an unfinished version of each episode and churns out these vids. He is in the credits after all and so this isn't merely a "fan based I-did-this-because-I-just-guessed" thing.

Maybe Guybrush and Morgan will team up in the underworld or something. Also I concur, just woah, that was just crazy, and Earl Boen is back as well, very Awesome. I still feel ep 3 was funnier, but this has to take the cake for length and drama.

So, when did the quote of the winner of the desinger of a day contest get played?
And yes, the typo is intended. Watch the ending credits.
  • edited October 2009
I got it during the trial, when the bailiff was giving his testimony.
  • edited October 2009
I was surprised to see someone actually die in the game... Now we can let the 'Rise of the Pirate God' speculation begin!

Bit that cracked me up most has to have been the Guybrush Q Threepwood, "I keep getting his mail" gag lol.

I liked the use of the word 'embiggen' on the sponge recipe.

And, maybe I need to turn off my computer and go to sleep on this one, but the background music around the giant wind instrument statue reminded me of the music to World of Goo. I think.

I also liked Guybrush's mental train of thought after seeing Morgan LeFlay's body- 15 seconds later: "Ooh! Severed legs! I think I'll take a batch of them!"

but i still find it odd that telltale released this pic of guy brush and his hand back along with Elane with the pox, even though guybrush never got his hand back in ep 4.

Last episode was funnier, but this one was epic. Morgan's death was very sad, and the ending was great. I also loved how the judge completly shifted personalities based on his location. The jungle map puzzle was pretty cool too.

I still wonder whether the Voodoo lady is good or bad though.

Last time I checked, it was still his left hand that got severed.

    Elaine's shoulder.
  • edited October 2009
That's not his hand, that's part of the non-existent background which should have been the courtroom.
  • edited October 2009
Yeah a very gud ending can't wait till the finale next month should be great.

Weird how Morgan got stabbed with her own sword and if you suddenly go back, she is gone, who would take the body, it wouldn't be De Singe because he said at the end he ran away because of the blood on the floor.
I think it was Jacques the monkey, think bout it he was there just before she died and if he is an magnetic kinda monkey it kinda makes sense.
What do you guys think ?
  • edited October 2009
His left hand is attached in the screenshot, look at this diagram I drew:

Like I said, that's not his hand. That's a monkey.

And you're still ignoring the fact that this particular scene takes place inside the court room.

    Ok Guybrush dying I was not expecting ;_;

WTF DOES GUYBRUSH DIE OR WHAT???

I havn't felt this sad at the end of a video game since Half-life 2: Ep 2 with Eli Vance
  • edited October 2009
The major question, it's for me more. Do they really died Morgan and Guybrush, because any character are dead in this universe, and the disapear of Morgan's corpse is strange.

I can't see Telltale killing off Guybrush, he will be back !! :D
And maybe he is the PIRATE GOD!!
Or is that too obivous now.

    agreed!

Edit: did you know his voice actor is rafiki from the lion king? o.o when i played it i was like "hangon... who is this.... *imdb* OMG!"
  • edited October 2009
Oh wow, that ending was epic. Thank you Telltale for bringing back Earl Boen!!!! He's one of my favorite voice actors of all time and hearing him back as LeChuck again brings me no end of joy. Are you going to re-dub LeChucks lines from the beginning of Chapter 1? No disrespect to the other guy but when you get the original and beloved voice actor back in his iconic role it would be nice to give him full reigns of the character again (at least the demon side of LeChucks character).

    Again, wow, epic, thank you!

Well.. I've completed it now.. my only complaint is: (Spoiler and bug all in one)
The "SHOCK" for the sponge... Since it's quite late and I can read quite quickly I skipped the dialog that guybrush says when you examine the carpet. This caused the puzzle to not "activate" properly so I didn't get the shock for the sponge when I exited. I have re-tried this and that seems to be the cause, does that happen for anyone else?

Apart from that, great game :) A lot of fun and an interesting ending :)
  • edited October 2009
Somehow, I missed some epic music in the ending scene. Or maybe it is/was a bug, but besides the terrific (storywise) ending, the music was nearly non-existent (for me), what really disappointed me.

I hope it was a bug. I will play it again (as always :D ). Maybe this time, the music will be there.

Static electricity doesn't just build up in one second. You got to rub it the right way, long and hard.

    Yes, double entendre intended.

Spoiler alert: Guybrush's hand being there was a mistake -- there has to be specific code running to replace it with the hook, which wasn't running when that shot was taken, and we missed it. We left it out there though even after people noticed, because speculation about it went too insane for us to pull it back so close to the episode's release.

After the beautiful game I thought: "Man, NO ONE is gonna believe me that my I wonder what happens stories are only theories of mine. Similar happenings in game and movie? Coincidence?? Bwuahahaha!"

Well, I cannot proove anything, but I try to make things clear:

Part I: The setting of the episode was clear. You saw that in the video on E3 that Telltale released. There was a scene where Guybrush tries to get on the ship. Easy!

Part II: This is the movie where I got a concept-art of Spinner Cay. But it was a painting that was released a few days later.

Part III: A movie in a huge manatee. What can you find in a manatee? Many broken stuff, and corpses. Why not putting Murray in it, it's a realistic place to meet him.

Part IV: Stan being Guybrushs lawyer is pure comedy gold. Of course I had to put him in the movie. And if you search the forums, you'll find that half of the fans had the same idea. :)
And to kill off Guybrush? Well, it's in the title. And in Chapter 1 you'll find a hint that there are two worlds: World of the living, world of the dead. So Guybrushs death is not unrealistic.
Also, I love drama. And this is why I fell deeply in love with the fourth chapter of the game.

I really don't want to know details about the story too soon. The unknowing is the funny part of the "I wonder what happens" series. Also, I'm a fan as well, I want to enjoy the whole game without any spoilers.

    This one's been epic,
shouts to the whole Telltale team, you guys are amazing!

Although I enjoyed the first three chapters as well, CH4 simply has to be the next big chapter in the book of Monkey Island history.

It's cool to see that Telltale are taking some aspects to the next level here.
    Name yer poison: Morgan/Elaine; Buddy-LeChuck;
GT himself actually dying (at least for now ;)
    ).
Actually one of my favourite moments in video game history ever was
the Sierra-like "Oops - restore, restart, quit" screen in MI1
. It's nice to see the writers take one step further by keeping basic premises but creating nice variations with heavy focus on stories.

Anyway, I found some of the characters to be a little schizophrenic compared to the previous buildup to ch4.
Morgan's sad mood and Guybrush completely rejecting the voodo lady sometimes seemed sort of unaccountable for, but on the other hand it worked like a charm in CH4. I was just this far from actually starting to believe that LeChuck actually might have become Guybrush's buddy.

Usually I'm way too lazy/tired to create forum accounts or use them, but I thought it to be appropriate this time , I think I'll head over to the "Where's chapter 5" thread now :D

What an absolutely mind blowing episode it was definetly up there and i think for me also quite a bit beyond Chapter 3, now i just get sad, because its improving and improving so much more, than any game Telltale have ever done (it must be because of the many people that work on it) that there is only one episode left :( i reaaaaaalllly hope we can get just one more season.

somehow i managed to use almost 7 hours in this episode ! insane.

Wow, if any of these episodes deserves its own place as Adventure Game of the Year, this is the one. Telltale, I can't possibly imagine how you guys are going to top this one.

By the way, you guys have brought back the true Monkey Island with this one. Thank you Telltale!

ToMI - Ch 5. - There is a little bit of guybrush left in the game and a lot left in us.. .you will be playing the entire episode as his hand! Would add a great spin on insult sword fighting (Which the use of those lines between Mrs.Guybrush and LeChuck was in all ways epic)

How does a disembodied hand fight and flip the bird at the same time?!
  • edited October 2009
Oh, and didn't Ron Gilbert have a much heavier hand to play in this episode? If so... you can tell the master of adventure has returned
