Earl Boen, the man who first gave a voice to the evil ghost/zombie/demon pirate in 1997 with Curse of Monkey Island™ has returned to play LeChuck in the final chapters of Tales of Monkey Island!
Plus, he's re-recorded lines for the prologue of "Launch of the Screaming Narwhal", which will be available on the Collector's DVD, and coming soon as an updated Chapter One download on our website!
You can hear a sample of Boen's work in our new Season Trailer.
I can´t help but feel sad for the voice actor who originally did LeChuck in chapter 1. I imagine it is bit upsetting to have your lines re-recorded by someone else.

Yeah, it's like the entire franchise is trying to get rid of him. Oh well, it was kinda expected.
Maybe he knew he was a temp? They couldn't tell us as it would of spoiled the end of the season, "Oh, Earl Boen will only travel out once, so he's going to record all of his lines at the end of the season when LeChuck comes back!" would of been a give away

Tell it to David Prowse. Not only he wasn't used as a voice of Vader, he wasn't even used as his face.

I wouldn't worry about that, he's (Adam Harrington I believe it was) probably a professional. As long as he got paid, he's happy. Maybe it was a little difficult taking the part, knowing that some of the fandom will hate you before release because you're not the regular guy. Maybe this wasn't the case with LeChuck, but I'm certain some actors fear taking over some parts because they won't live up too the expectations of the fans.
I actually liked the new guy when I heard him in the first chapter. It was a fresh new take on the character. I think it's actually bad to get accustomed to one actor for only one character. It makes it harder to accept new actors who try doing their own interpretation of the character, and you will judge them unfairly.
I'm still getting the updated version when it becomes available, but I'm keeping my wiiware version of the chapter so I can have both versions.:D
People have different tastes I guess.
I always thought he did a good job, he sounded quite similar to Earl Boen as well.
I liked his Hardy harr harr harr. It just became the LeChuck laugh in a way, became a trait of the character or something.
Who knows, maybe Earl Boen will do it in a similar way?

Yeah, even Rick Moranis got to do it!
Haha. Nice.

And the legions of Earl Boen fans, of course.
