Pockets? No, I'd need a REALLY big backyard. And we just finished building a ridiculously huge shed in ours. Besides, I'm not crazy about the idea of having the Caverns of Meat under my house. I think I'll go with the mug.

Unfortunately it blew up, remember? Although the closest thing I can give you is the cursed cutlass of kaflu.
I was just thinking: it will probably be at least half a year before we do the third edition of this, and by then some of us may have stopped visiting the forums, and thus miss it. Maybe we should make a list of people who want to be PM'ed when someone starts planning the third edition.
Good thinking. I'll add the list to the first post and keep it updated. I've never been so active in an online community as I have been here, so I intend to stick around for quite some time, even if it slows to a crawl. I'll be keeping an eye out and when interest starts drumming up for The Great Monkey Island Race of 2010 (this summer, I'm thinking), I'll make sure word gets out. I'll also make a list for people interested in the Sam and Max race.
So yeah, everyone interested in the other races sound off, and specify which race(s) you're interested in.
Okay, you already know my opinion on that, but still, in case even I forget it...
I'll try to patch up my Escape game somehow and will install ScummVM, and since now all those DirectX issues with Tales are fixed, I think I'm in for the next race.
Same goes for the SnM one, except I still don't have the second season (although it might show up on the wishlist for my birthday... )
Even if you can't participate, the list is just for people who are interested in hearing about it. I know that some people (coughtpravetzcough) prefer to spectate, so it's just a list of people who want to be notified when the next race is upon us.

Wow. How'd you know? Hopefully I'll get a better computer, and might be able to participate. But if not, I'll just blab away on your streams. You can always e-mail me or Twitter me too...

But could you get over your hatred of Escape in order to play it?
So are any of you three also interested in being notified of the Sam and Max race, or should I only put you down for Monkey Island?
It's cool to see you taking interest. All of the completion times per game are posted throughout the thread, and I have all of them collected in the first post. We even broke Tales down by time taken to complete each chapter.
So I picked up both seasons of Sam and Max while the 25% off offer was going on. So far I've made it through Hit the Road and Culture Shock. They've been entertaining (though bizarre), but I'm not sure I'd want to race them. We'll see how I feel after I make it through the 10 remaining episodes, but I might just stick with an officiating/watching role in the Sam and Max race. On the plus side, the rules should be a lot more simple than the rules for Monkey Island, from what I've seen.
You should put a rule for season 2:
All the driving mini-games should be completed to gold level (Though the optional decals should be left outside since it's occurrence is random)
I only watched someone play Curse for a little while, but it was fun! Thanks for putting this on. It was a great idea. We should do more of this. Heck, I'd even watch someone play live just for fun.

Erm...why? Not skipping cutscenes is one thing, but making things that aren't necessary to complete the game mandatory kind of goes against the idea of a race to me. Or am I missing something?

No your not, the basic rules that are and were set up by You and Myself will be in state for the Sam&Max race.

Minus a lot of the complications, of course. Sam and Max seems to be a lot more straightforward in terms of racing. Of course, the majority was done by Telltale, and we didn't exactly have a lot of Tales-specific rules, so it's not terribly surprising.
Also, I finished season 1 last night. I'm working on Ice Station Santa right now.

Likewise. Please.

Ooh thanks. Shame on me for not checking the OP.
I could suffer though Escape if I got a new computer...
I'd love to watch a Sam and Max race!
Why must you make me think things puzzle...why...?
