Because there haven't been any new screenshots to dissect for the past few days. All of the screenshots/videos/concept art sort of worked as an anchor; without them, the thread will drift off to new topics.
I see your point, but since I am one of those people who hasn't spent too much time in this forum for the last couple of weeks I find it annoying I have to fight through pages and pages of this promising thread, only to find that what is actually being discussed here has nothing to do with the title.
Why not leave this thread idle for a while until there are actually new news to talk about?
Because if we do not procrastinate the world gets boring.
Wasn't The Tale of the Escape from the Secret Curse of Monkey Island: The Revenge: Special Deluxe Edition the only game that was ever as good as Duke Nukem: Forever?

Minus a dolphin race and a gun that fires dogs, I'd have to agree!
Omg revenge is last there must be something wrong with him !!one!!!eleven!11!
:D:D:D:D:D I am ok guys don't worry!
The first time I played Revenge was in 2009! It is too difficult to play a game 18 years after its development! No voice acting, bad graphics.. My terrible English didn't help to concentrate in the game!It was very difficult to read read read... So I hope the Special Edition will change my opinion of Revenge!

I played it this year, and I enjoyed it a lot... but I suppose since your english is bad, you have an excuse. You'll see the SE will change your opinion

MI2 doesn't have bad graphics, just old graphics - there's a difference. I genuinely think it's the best looking game in the series in terms of its visual style. Although I like what the SE has done with it. Different while remaining faithful.

WINNER WINNER WINNER!!!
I was just about to say pretty much the same thing.... but with more sex appeal and maybe some how work in a reference to Treasure Crab.

I still can't see how anyone can say MI2 have bad graphics, despite them not growing up with it. In my eyes, it's pixel graphics at it's finest, and the style and use of colour is still incredibly impressive, even today.
There's a big difference between bad graphics and low resolution.
And to be honest, while I like the special edition graphics, the old graphics are still superior. Games like MI2 (and MI1 too to a certain degree) have graphics I would consider timeless. Oil painting techniques and the oil paint itself has probably been improved drastically over the hundreds of years it's existed, but Mona Lisa or The Last Supper are still masterpieces.
Monkey Island two and games like Doom 1 and 2, other games from that period give me a head ache. I especially have a hard time with pixel hunting games.
I like games with pixel graphics. I don't care for graphics, unless they're crappy 3D graphics like Half Life 1, that give me motion sickness.
Really? HL1 graphics make you sick but next-gen and Doom graphics don't? odd. Incidentally, HL1 had some excellent graphics for its time. I believe HL1 innovated the skeletal animation system.

Oh, I didn't mean I only felt that way for Half Life, it was just an example.
Half Life's graphics are fine to me. I think, the game is well designed. The part that couldn't impress me was the game in its entirety. I prefer Doom too, but it certainly is not the graphics which makes the cut for me. I don't care for it that much really.
It's like movies. They can be fun to watch, even if they are made with sub par standards (which the games in question weren't). Among them are titles like "Meet The Feebles" or "Plan 9 From Outer Space".
So getting a talkie version and recorded music from real instruments are the most important features of the Monkey Island SEs for me. I still like the HD graphics too, but I certainly could live without it.
Just visited Monkey Island 2's Steam page, and found this under features that wasn't there before:
SteamWorks Achievements: Only the mightiest of pirates can collect all three. We kid, there’s a lot more, but you will need to be mighty to get them.
Steamworks Achievements...I suppose they're like a version of Xbox's achievements and PS3's trophies, yes?
Sorry if it's an obvious thing, I'm not really a gamer.
Oh, and also...um....
...2 WEEKS TO GO!!!!!

I genuinely think it's the most beautiful looking game ever.

I saw it. But I wish you could preorder....

The cover art still sucks. But i think the actual game is gonna make up for it.
