Has there been any word on the price of this?
I need to know whether to get some more crappy MS points or not..
  • edited June 2010
It's 800 points just like the other one. $9.99 on Steam or anywhere else.
  • edited June 2010
If it really is $10 again...
...and we thought the 1st SE was too cheap...
...we're gonna feel like we stole this one!
    :o

MI2:SE is available for pre-purchase on Steam. Also, as a bonus, those who don't own SMI:SE get it for free if you pre-purchase MI2:SE before it launches on the 7th.

    ..£6.99???!!!
Easiest £6.99 I've ever handed over!
    :D

    It's really coming......

    Purchased!

£6.99 really is a steal, considering I havn't yet bought Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition, and I get that included free with my pre-order (currently downloading now).

Two Monkey Island games at £3.50 each..? Best hour's wage I've ever spent.

I knew holding off buying MI:1 SE was a good idea...
  • edited June 2010
    Oh, one other thing:
It'll be available at 6:00pm in British Time according to Steam.
    :D
Work that out for your own locations on your own...
    :)

Well, the download'll be huge, and my connection'll be crappy, so I'll just leave it to go overnight and play it on Thursday all day...

Has anyone established whether it'll be available through Telltale yet? And if so, will it be in the very near future, or would we have to wait a year? I'd really rather buy from Telltale over Steam, but on the other hand -- I won't be able to hold off for very long!
  • edited June 2010
Purchased as well. If LA had been good enough to let us know if we'd ever get a disc I would have waited but since they won't tell us anything I'm getting it NOW. :P
  • edited June 2010
There is no news whatsoever about MI2:SE coming to the Telltale store. It most likely will be postponed to a much later date as with the first remake. It was never listed on the list of consoles it would be coming out on in the initial press release.

I'm in the process of pre-purchasing. Just goota wait for bloody Bold and the Beautiful to be over for my Mum to come upstairs and do the paypalling.

UPDATE: On the pre-order page it says "the game will unlock in approximately 1 week, 6 days, 11 hours". That's about 4am on the 8th in Australia!
  • edited June 2010
Are we, then, reasonably sure that Steam is the only option for PC users?
  • edited June 2010
dont you mean the 4am on the 8th?

Yes, I got confused with the release date of the first game. I've fixed it now.
  • edited June 2010
Yea, I just want the system requirements to go up before I preorder.
  • edited June 2010
Preordered! Downloading free Secret SE aswell. This is one awesome day.
  • edited June 2010
I hope it is released somewhere other than Steam. I wont buy it from steam, MI:SE was released on Direct2Drive, but limited to the US only. I didn't buy it until it appeared in the Telltale Store.

Although MI:LCR was my favourite Monkey Island game ever, I wont buy it under the same conditions.
  • edited June 2010
Well, there's no way that Steam is getting anywhere near my new notebook, so I guess I'll just have to wait.

Hope it's available at the Telltale store soon!
  • edited June 2010
Why all the hate for Steam? I use it for my downloadable games (minus the ones that you can get from the company themselves, like Telltale) and I see nothing wrong with it. Heck, I would go as far to say that it's the most efficient way to play/download games. That's why I preordered on the spot.

I don't have a problem with steam, I have my Half-Life games, Team Fortress 2 and Portal on there.
I just don't want to buy Monkey Island there, I much rather want to keep my Monkey Islands in one place, if it's possible.
  • edited June 2010
I'm fairly sure that if the game would be available elsewhere, we'd know by now. You should at the very least treat it as being a timed exclusive on Steam. I'm sure it'll turn up on here eventually, like the first SE did.

I guess I just don't mind where they're stored, as long as I have a desktop shortcut for it.

    I prefer Steve Purcell's original.:p

Oh, I think everyone does, but this one is nice enough. Plus it represents a SE.
    :D

I finally realised what was bothering me about the Special Edition cover; I don't mind Guybrush's face, LeChuck's beard or the monkey; it's Lechuck's EYES! He has PUPILS! LeChuck has NEVER had pupils! Simply painting over the pupils in MS Paint makes it look much much better IMO. :D

Zombie LeChuck has pupils. I think you need to look at the original artwork again.

Regarding the pupils: the actual model of LeChuck in-game in the MI2 SE apparently does NOT have them. But the painting of LeChuck on the SE cover art does.
  • edited June 2010
That would certainly solve the problem of what LeChuck is actually looking at.
  • edited June 2010
please, lets not this again, if you have to complain about it cant you do it here: http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15368&highlight=LeChuck%27s+Revenge+Cover+Discussion

You know, I'm seriously half considering refunding my TMI Deluxe order so I can buy MI2:SE instead...
  • edited June 2010
Bought my copy yesterday evening, it's my favourite Monkey Island just ahead of Curse, and with new graphics, voices, fantastic sound and flawless running on my PC it's well worth the £6.99 let alone the added commentary and ingame artwork
  • edited June 2010
Y'know, it might just be worth it to cancel my Deluxe order and just get the standard edition and MI2:SE.

EDIT: Did it. Cancellation request email'd.
  • edited June 2010
I assume this one has been posted?

One of the worse endings to other wise good games. I'll never forgive Ron.

EDIT: Did it. Cancellation request email'd.

Way to go champ, we stand by you...

Any idea how big the download will be? I'm on a limit an thought I'd check before I buy it.
  • edited June 2010
    Probably close to 2 Gigabytes.
  • edited June 2010
the first remake was 2GB. I think it's safe to assume this one will be more than that.
