I would be up for gifting a $3 item, but it might be a few days after Christmas.

    21. In below the weeaboo threshold, and most of them are from the supplementals. I invite you all to take spurious guesses at my weeb hits, though. Stay out of this, Dashing. Knowing me personally gives you an unfair edge in this.

Well, I know you're not an otaku. If you were you wouldn't like Twiligelion, as that's an insult to anime in general.

I'd kick someone a "generous" gift via steam.

This is why we can never be friends. Also, the mutual loathing probably hurts things, too.

You're right. None of my friends enjoy watching mentally traumatized characters masturbate over the bodies of other comatose mentally traumatized characters. BTW I think I know the answer to the superperverted one, or do you just skip that part every time you watch End of Evangelion? ^_^
  • edited December 2010
Cool beans, that's 3ish people who'd be up for it! I'll try and organise it if there is just a few more people up for it.

Well, you're using a weeb emoticon. The pot calls the kettle black... lolpot.

Also, I do believe you've seen a fair amount of Evangelion media. How else could you know?

Can I take liberties from my Weeaboo score for having never actually been to a convention or cosplayed? Did I mention my distaste of razors?

Um I could do the secret santa, but it would prob. be a $3 game or less.

Okay, how about this, I barely ever listen to Carameldansen, and I danced to it whilst really bored on a snowday once. And again, it isn't japanese. Only the animation is. Can I take a liberty for that.?

Stages of grief: stage 3, bargaining.

I don't exactly go around bashing things I haven't seen for myself. Since you asked, it's one of the first anime I watched.

-Doesn't watch Japanese movies or reads Japanese books that are unrelated to Anime or Manga. (This is technically true, but in light of the fact that I don't often read books from my own culture, much less anyone else's, and rarely watch anime or read manga [leaving me very out of the loop with some of my friends], I reject your two points.)
    -Cosplay+3

I think I ought to have at least half a point knocked off for having taken Japanese in college, but whatever. I almost gave myself the Japanese games one until I noticed it said "superior to any games from other cultures".

I think having lived for an extended period of time in an Asian country should pretty much instantly excuse you from the test. Even someone who went over as a weeaboo should gain at least a basic understanding that anime is not real life after an experience like that, and if not then they probably fail human level intelligence forever. Of course, they could do all that and still come back and not bathe and play The Game and glomp and shit, so maybe not.

There's a reason why Con Stank exists.

Thank god for NDK starting a rule that you have to ask permission before you glomp. Unless you're super cute, look like you've bathed today, and I can't smell you from five feet away, the answer is NO.

Which raises the question: How was that super tall guy dressed as Kiba ever allowed to not only hug me, but lift me off the ground when I was dressed as Gai? In theory, I should've taken off running before he had the chance. Then again, in theory I shouldn't have been cosplaying from Naruto.

Yes, I cosplayed from Naruto. I wanted to do a costume that nobody in their right mind would do, so I went as Gai.

I'm a little ashamed, but not too much to admit to it. And by the way, those eyebrows were uncomfortable as hell.

I have no experience with this "ramune". Is the stuff any good? Or is it just a weeaboo drink for weeaboos like my friend here?
  • edited December 2010
Being a weeaboo is not a big deal. It's only bad if it turns you into a jerk. Technically, I'm not a weeaboo if you go by the list G-Tope made, but considering how much I know about Japanese culture, I can't say I'm completely clean. I suppose you could call me a 'cultured weeaboo' in the sense that I actually do my research, lol.

EDIT: Ramune is just regular ol' soda, but it comes in odd flavors that aren't common in American sodas, like melon and lychee. Also, the bottle has an odd sealing mechanism involving a marble.

If you must know, it's pretty much soda. That's it. It's personally alright.
