Well, my Stormwrack and Persona D20 campaign fell through this weekend, which meant I had no break from translating. Translating Old Norse til 4AM and then having to pronunciate it and old English in 4 hours worth of class time is hell.

What indeed? I knew the UK had been on a downward slide since the end of the Second World War, and this only confirms it! I bet they don't even have fireworks, Mr Pibb or affordable dry cleaning.

Oh wait, apparently I can get US-import Froot Loops... for the bargain price of only £7.50.

    That's $12 a box in Uncle Sam's money. TWELVE DOLLARS A BOX. :'(

Yeah, but we have crumpets. Would you want to give up crumpets?
The US never had the intellect to put holes in bread quite like we did.

I want to be paid for something I know how to do, not something I will know how to do. Else that, or slow down the learning process. But, hell, I'm getting paid for that!

They put holes in bread, then added sugar.... We have been outdone, brothers :(

Truth be told, I've not had crumpets. I love Earl Grey tea, though; and I hear that they go well together. I keep meaning to try them, but I'm convinced they'd need to be freshly baked and I suck at cooking.

You can get crumpets here too.
  • edited February 2011
    NO WAY

I've not seen them. Where are they!? Is it because I'm in the South? I HAVE NO MOUTH AND I MUST WHINE.

"Here" is still Canada, I'm only moving to the US later this month.
And here you can get them from any store as far as I know. If I can get them HERE, all of Canada can get them.
I guess that's why they're still part of the Commonwealth. For the crumpets.

Really!? I thought it was for the outdated and grossly expensive and unnecessary monarchy!

Oh wow, you are missing out! A cup of Earl Grey and a nice crumpet dripping in honey...

BTW, you were totally right about Earl Grey being good for sinus ailments. The office ran out of English Breakfast teabags today, so I was FORCED to have Earl Grey instead... by golly, I'd forgotten how lovely and aromatic it is.

I tell the most enthralling stories, right?

Crumpets are actually cooked on a griddle, like pancakes. No one actually cooks them fresh though - you just buy them from the supermarket and put them in the toaster so they get all warm and scrumptious.

How long are you planning to be there?

Better than my stories which either don't exist, involve police work or other unpleasant things from which people shy away, or are boring - more boring than yours. Except that one time when that thing happened and my brother, myself and my stoner friends thought we were going to robbed and murdered by a Mexican street gang. That one was fun.

Just under 90 days (that's what I'm allowed) for this time. I'll try and get a visa for next time so I can stay longer.

Just went to the dentist. Funny how she always says that I'm taking excellent care of my teeth but somehow after 20 years of no cavities, I've had them the last three times I've gone.

Anyone from the US between the ages of 31 and 40 willing to help me with that english survey thing I was talking about earlier? I just need one person and I kind need it done by tomorrow.

Just thinking about how almost every night for the past 2 or 3 months I've listened to the same music - usually about 6 to 10 tracks per night out of a selection of 12. Some get left out for a few nights in a row, but the last 3 tracks have only changed in one way in that time and that's the order of them. I think it helps me feel good at the end of the day, especially those last 3 tracks which is why they're at the end. I even sometimes just play those 3 if I've got a spare 10 minutes. Just so you know I'm currently on track 2 of 8 tonight, which may get repeated depending on how long I stay up for.

It doesn't? Nice, now to wait until they dub it and hope they don't only air at the worst ****ing times possible like RPM. I miss when the good stuff aired on the evening/early night, now they're only sending it to die at really inconvenient timeslots -____-

Also, I really want to know what they'll do with the newest sentai season when they get there.

They already have sent it to an...unfortunate timeslot, at least in the US: Sunday at Noon.

Also, I just can't get over the fact that their CELL PHONES seem to be their Zords.

    Better than only airing new episodes of programs on weekdays at 8~9AM, the time where NONE of its target audience will be able to watch it because it'll be going to school at that time. It could be worse though, they could do what they did to TMNT's last season and only air it at like 3 or 5 AM. Poor Digimon Savers/Datasquad got stuck in BOTH situations (aired only at 9:30AM and 1:30PM, then only 1:30 PM, and finally they just said **** it and moved it to around 5:30 AM) ;__;

What pisses me off the most about that last one is that it looks like someone at Latin America's Disney XD went "hey guys, we're already airing Kid VS Cat 4 times in like 3 hours, how about we take away Digimon's timeslot and add ANOTHER showing of Kid VS Cat?" and then they just kept showing movies and specials every other day at the remaining timeslot it had, then finally just moved it to 5AM.

This all happened after already pissing off fans (or at least me) by having it start over every week or two.

I've been really bored with everything and generally tired today for some reason. And I have a barely noticeable headache. And I may or may not have taken a three hour nap earlier, I'm honestly not really sure.

It depends on what you already have. If 'Beyond Good & Evil' is not currently in your collection, then buy that... twice.

That's a weird way to spell 'Fallout'.

Dammit, I've been bored with everything I've tried doing and finally found something I felt like doing, only to find that my hands are too cold to play Rock Band and my room is too cold to warm them up enough and keep them that way.

Maybe I should just give up and go to bed early.

Since when was Rock Band a part of the Kingdom Hearts series? Where do the events of Beatles: Rock Band fall into the overall timeline?

I have that on my PS2, and I've played it fairly recently....

I think I'll go with Gabriel Knight collection and maybe The Last express.
