I wish, but I've never managed to talk my parents into it. Maybe I'll sign up for it once I get one of those newfangled job things that are all the rage.
Oh, speaking of! So my cousin is apparently in dire need of a personal assistant and wants to hire me, and it sounds like she'd be willing to pay me pretty well. The problem is that she's so busy working all the time that she apparently doesn't have time to meet with me about it. But then my sister's boyfriend broke up with her yesterday (FINALLY), and suddenly my cousin can drop everything to take her to a hotel to be pampered. So...yeah, that sucks.
You should go one step further and watch one of their films. Horse Feathers is my personal favorite, followed by Animal Crackers and Duck Soup.
I've only seen A Night At The Opera. I have a bunch on DVD, so I don't know why this is. I also don't know why I don't have Duck Soup. That is the one where Groucho is Captain Spalding, right?

Ahh, Tea. I only know how to make one kind, and It's really useful at 2 in the morning. Chamomile and Valerian root. WIth Vanilla, honey, and rose extract for taste.

Captain Spalding is in Animal Crackers. Duck Soup has Rufus T. Firefly.
I used to like to fool around with chords on a recorder by playing two at once. It was interesting, but I never got much range out of the thing. Mainly due to lack of fingers.
I have both a guitar and a piano in my house and would like to learn to play both of them, but you two have me thinking I should probably get my dream ocarina and learn to play that first to avoid having trouble with the whole no chords thing.
If you've got a piano, learning to play it will be one of the most rewarding experiences you could have. Or one of the most frustrating. Either one.
In any case, with a piano you can figure out how to play any video game theme you want. I know I have. An ocarina is a bit more restricted in what you can do, but then again gives a more accurate sound for what it can do.
I suppose the decision lies with what you eventually want to play.
I actually did take piano lessons with my mom and sister when we got the piano when I was younger, but that ended after bad luck left us without a teacher twice. I've mostly forgotten what skill I had with it, though I do still play around with it every once in a while. I can't do it with two hands or even chords on one hand, just single notes, but I can totally play Jojo the monkey's song from Monkey Island 2.
Also, you may have noticed that this conversation is now in the other thread where DAISHI was posting ocarina links. I wouldn't have moved it, but this was one hell of a derail, as well as a conversation I wouldn't mind seeing continue.
I made my own teleportation theory and they like it They think it's a "great idea", etc etc. EASY , I don't understand it, I don't literally understand it but the ideas just come together...
I'm a freak...I'm a lonely, freak...I spent like a day and a half on it...

I was in the same situation, I learnt guitar. I can play a bit of piano but guitar just came far more naturally to me. PlusI feel it's a lot easier to express yourself on guitar because the strings are a lot more responsive to touch and feel, you can present the same chord in a thousand different ways.
That said I really should get back into piano, just cos it's easier to write large scale ideas on piano.
But yes, learn an instrument, it's one of the most rewarding things you can do

Well, that's a start. I've more or less constantly played piano since I was four, so I've found that I give pretty poor advice on how to learn since I can't actually remember learning. But plunking out notes has led me to play many a good song. Right now, my favorite is Woodtick from MI2. I don't know why. It's just so darn fun to play.
I'd rather go to space. Space? SPACE. Space space space. We can go to space. Ever been to space? Spacespacespace. Dad? I'm in space. (deeper voice) I'm proud of you, son. (normal voice) Dad, are you space? (deeper voice) Yes. Now we are a family again. SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCEE.

That was a delighted sound like Stimpy might make.
I just found out that there is a video game convention next weekend right up the road from me. Normally I wouldn't really care to go to such a thing, however, it turns out that the Angry Video Game Nerd is going to be a guest (he lives pretty close to me) and, well, now I'm going to have to go get my Castlevania II cartridge signed.
Loads of people are saying the Mortal Kombat 2011 storyline ending is
bittersweet
but there's fridge logic
most of the main cast died buuut Armageddon began in MK cos there where to many fighters tapping into the realms stability so Raiden accidentally killing them all off also helped stave off armageddon as well as killing Shao Kahn
So does that mean that being Zelda themed is a point against it, or that you just don't really care? Because as much as I'd rather have one of those STL ones, I actually do think my Songbird ocarina is pretty decent for beginners. It's the second ocarina I've owned, and it's definitely easier to learn and better sounding than my first.

I'm not against it, but I don't want one for my first ocarina. It's a matter of some pride for me to start with a different ocarina, because Zelda isn't really what made me want to play one anyway. I ended up buying a Polycarbonate G ocarina from Mountain Ocarinas, plus their learning guide. I saw a lot of good things about them, so I really trust whatever they put out. I'm just hoping its not too small for my hands, but I kind of prefer that style to the sweet potato.
EDIT: I have an Eon Ticket too, never used. Someday it'll be worth millions I tell you. I have to tell everyone that at least ten times.

I wish I had one of those! They sound great!
All I ever get are "volunteer opportunities."

Yes...I am obsessed with the Marx Brothers...

I'm getting the distinct impression that your friend really likes Ocarinas.
Ahh, was the other way around, I have Duck Soup but need Animal Crackers.
It's 2 in the morning and just had my sleepy time tea, I guess it's understandable. G'night everybody.
But he also plays drums, guitar, piano, and everything else.

This doesn't sound to hopeful..I really hope it wont be a god awful adaptation.
Can we go Motoko on there asses!

Make sure to schedule for ComicCon so you can multitask that trip.
I wana go to I could be your Tachikoma!
That would be different. You're hired.
YAY jump inside.

Needs Moar "Space".
Some people tend to get....
SPACE MADNESS!!!
That was a delighted sound like Stimpy might make.

You see we had roast turkey, and he doesn't like it, so he's had nothing to eat.
So while he's sitting next to me, I started to browse Youtube and play videos related to food.
Lets put it this way. Techno Chicken was too much for him.
Gosh darn awe inspiring. Goes well with my Superman dog tags.
Yep, I've seen that guy. He's awesome.
I do have an ocarina, though...
...and what the hell, here I am playing it six years ago.
damn thats really good
If you want that, you'd better be bringing me a sword cane.
Oh, yeah. I took that picture for this thread.
