I think Chris is going through that phase I went through where I just went too far with it and then really needed to be banned. Yes, I do think that's where Chris is right now. Yes, I doooo.
Divisionten, it's posts like that (the rescue post) that convince me to keep checking this thread, even though there are times it's almost unreadable. Thanks for sharing!
Hey, everyone.
1. I just wanted to say I'm surprised and happy to see how calm the JP boards are. There was initial shock, of course, but this has quickly waned with just how cordial Telltale has been about the whole ordeal. It makes me proud to be a moderator of a forum like this one.
2. Remember last month when I made the thread about Japan? (for those of you who don't- I lived there until the earthquake hit and my apartment building evac'd). People asked me if all my friends were ok, and I said 'yes'.
I lied.
My friend Amphy from the Philippines has two brothers in the Filipino Merchant Marine. Their ship was off the coast of Sendai, almost directly over the quake epicenter. The tsunami hit. One brother lashed himself to the ship, and the other jumped overboard with some of his shipmates.
The first brother (and the ship) were flung onto a deserted island into the Pacific. He was found relatively unharmed and rescued almost immediately.
The other brother and his shipmates had been presumed dead. Of course I wasn't going to say anything- we had no way of knowing either way where he was or if he had survived. Days turned to weeks, and well, this was one time when no news was NOT good news.
And yet, three days ago we get a call from a hospital in southern Japan, hundreds of miles from where their ship had been dragged by the waves. He and his crew (all but one) survived in the frigid ocean waters for about three weeks before being rescued and given care. He has staph, and is rather injured. But he's receiving care and he's slowly getting better by the day. We just have to keep an eye on him, but the hospital is now able to keep us informed.
I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I had enough crap of my own to deal with at the time, and I didn't need to needlessly worry everyone. It really puts life in perspective, no?
Just quoting the full post so it won't get lost on the previous page so quickly... it's too interesting of a post to simply be pushed back and drowned immediately like the normal crap we usually post here

After reading about a guy who was flung onto an island in the Pacific and guys who spent three weeks lost at sea, you think I'm going to make problems with you over silly posts about space on a forum on the internet I only slightly care about anymore?
Maybe later. I'm watching ocarina videos. And by later, I mean probably never. And by probably never I mean BAN HIM GURU! BAN THE SON OF A BITCH! BAN HIM DAMN IT! BAN! BAN! BAN! KILL!
I find it extremely amusing that the forum game designed so that people could pretend to be Fawful and Pants has been now taken over...by Fawful and Pants. And my good self, of course.

God-dammit, do I hate working with foreigners.
Its not so much the quality of the work, which normally has pretty good content, its just that the write up is virtually non-sensical.
I've started to re-write it, and I'm already confused as to what they mean at some points.
I guess I better write a list of questions once I go through the plan.
(Heck, I haven't even begun to write my section in there yet. Too busy cleaning up others mess)
Next time I ever have group work, I going to have to make sure I'm not working with idiots, or anyone with only a basic knowledge of English.
My auntie broke her arm yesterday. She was getting out of bed, when her arm literally snapped. She went to the hospital to have it mended and had it x-rayed, and it showed up far lighter than it should be. The doctors are awaiting further test results, but they think it may be due to tumours absorbing the nutrients and stuff and weakening the bones.
Last time I watch the cat for my neighbor while he's on vacation... the very first time he paid me a few bucks (very little considering I took care of their cat for nearly a week), but the three times I've done it since, they haven't paid me anything at all - even despite me having to use my own catfood two out of the three times.
I need to get better at saying no to people
EDIT - RetroVortex - congratulations! That's awesome! I'm green with jealousy at the moment :D
But really, that's something I would really (!) love to have
A guy I (barely) know has something similar - similar in that he's using an arcade cabinet as well, only he's placed an Amiga inside (minimig)... which works extremely well with a lot of Amiga games... Amiga games were much more arcade like than PC games back then, generally speaking.
I like how Telltale is having a Spring sale on "EVERYTHING!*" with a big asterisk next to it excluding BTTF, JP, Hector and all physical merch, which essentially means the only items for sale that I don't already have are Bone and Telltale Texas Hold 'Em.
Wait, did I say I like that? What I mean is, it's kinda stupid.
Im so sorry I know how much it hurts when family have serious medical issues like that. I hope everything will be ok for you,.
It hasn't really sunk in yet. Although we weren't that close. It's still a shock. Afterall, she visited us a couple of months ago, and seemed perfectly healthy. In fact, she's apparantly displayed no real symptons, apart from a slight back ache and putting on weight, but those are dismissable. The first real sympton was snapping her arm!
In a more uplifting note: I fixed my headphones! Yay! Now, if only I hadn't just ordered a new pair from amazon. I attempted to cancel it, but they said I couldn't as it was dispatching imminently. Despite the dispatch estimate on the order being the 30th April!

Fixed. You're welcome.
Are we going to have problems, Waffle Truces?

I'm sensing undertones of hostility here.
Subtle! Fawful, you are a master of the hidden hand. A true king of nuance. Well done. You are the Hitchcock of schlock.
Pfft. What do you mean HOSTILE? PHFFFFFFT. I never said it had to be a PERMA-ban. PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT.
Oh, that's okay then, I suppose. Perfectly reasonable and not overly exaggerated in the slightest.
Good times, good times.
My fault?

And all I've got to say is the picture you just posted in 'The Have a Conversation with Pictures Thread' is hilarious.
(Vandalism at its best.)
Oh and oven cleaner is noxious stuff.
Its a MAME one. £205.
(But its pretty far away, so theres fuel cost on top of that)
Saves me the time and effort at least.

Not as much as Luanne and her bloody sock puppets!
But the unlikbleness is what I like XD All her arrogant lines make me lol especially when she clearly has no idea what shes talking about.
Im so sorry
I'm very sorry to hear that. My thoughts go out to your Aunt, yourself and your family.
