Yes, it is. You've sparked my excitement for the movie. I was a little on the fence after seeing the trailer but if it's as good as Iron Man, it definitely seems to be worth a watch. Thanks for the input, Sunny.

Well, I'll be honest, I don't remember that much of Ironman, just that I enjoyed it a lot. I also know that I enjoyed Thor quite a bit too and that other people say it's as good as Ironman.

Then again I also enjoyed Ironman 2 so take that however you want >.>

Oh yeah, just a tip, don't pay for 3D, it was totally not worth it.

Unless the effects are mind-blowing and everyone recommends the 3D screening, I usually stick to the 2D version anyway. It's nice to pocket the extra three dollars and know that I'm not missing out on anything.

I'm only really interested in Thor because it has the same director as Henry V.

My ploy was successful. I had a corporate diversity stock photo and everything.
    It wasn't your ploy!
I brought him back by posting in the "gameplay analysis" thread (Although I didn't do it on purpose, I was curious to know whether he will analyse Ep4 or not) ...
and, I brought you and Alcore back by bringing him back!

Wow! I deserve a medal or something for that

its awesome. Just remember though. Stay after the credits of thor. Not going to spoil what it is but trust me its awesome scene
  • edited May 2011
It was, but honestly, since I don't really read comics I have no idea what I should've been all "OH SHIT!" for besides
Loki not being dead (which was to be expected anyways)
. The scene's after the credits for the other movies were much more "friendly" for people that don't read comics.

Ironman: "Tony got invited to the Avengers :O"
Hulk: "Tony found Bruce and is inviting himg :O"
    Ironman 2: "Thor's hammer :O"
    Thor:
"...what the hell is that cube thing and why should I be worried Loki got his hands on it?"

I so don't have the mental energy for this thread today. Sure it was a little boring without Dashing, Tope, Alcore, and Pants, but maybe boring wasn't so bad.

Check out my title. Boring's what I do best and I'm glad that it wasn't "so bad". I try my hardest to provide you all with a sea of mediocrity.

PROTIP: If you go to the liquor store to get boxes to move your worldly goods in, your new neighbours will think you to be an alcoholic.

Psh. You need us, Kenny. Why, if it weren't for Josh, Katie and I; the extra mod manpower wouldn't be needed, you wouldn't have been hired, and the Prophet IcedHope (p.b.u.h.) would have been the only mod here. Your job security needs punks like us.

Tope though? She's too well behaved on here to warrant mod attention, from what I know.

Curses for dragging me out of my study slumber! But I have to take a stab at this.

I got it. You went dumpster diving. Only logical solution.

Actually, the guy there just kind of gave them to me once I told him I was moving into the area. Based on my preference for Stolichnaya boxes, I think he thinks I'm going to be a regular customer. Well, seeing as how the Publix near my apartments doesn't carry Stolichnaya - the only brand of Vodka worth anything to anyone who matters - I might have to be.

I like the mental image of dumpster diving more. That and it is also how I procured all my boxes for when I was moving into my apartment. The dumpster behind the UPS store was a goldmine. Or boxmine.

Weirdest thing. One moment I was happily punching boxes and the next I was fighting off hordes of zombies with a cardboard pickax. Now, I have a castle. :D

If you Pre ordered you got a code for DLC costume. The content differed form shop to shop.

Oh you mean those. No reason they should expire.

Honestly, they should've been unlockable, not DLC. Right now the only way to get more than one is either
-Pre-ordered at Gamestop and Amazon, bought at Best Buy near release, bought at Walmart, bough a KE/TE, and bought the bluray movies.
-Pay ridiculous prices on Ebay (hello $100+ Reptile codes!)
-Wait until they put them up for sale on the PSN/XBLA

and even then there's also the klassic Smoke, Noob Saibot, and MK3 robot ninjas that are there in the code mocking you that you can't play them without hacking at all right now and that's just annoying D:

Easy to explain away. Liquor boxes are some of the sturdiest around, perfect for moving things.

Maybe not the greatest for shipping, unless you're shipping something that needs the sturdiness. Like bottles of liquor.

So I got my arcade parts in the mail yesterday.

The buttons are incredibly simple to switch, and I did that no problem.

However, the sticks were an issue.

Getting the sticks that were already in there out were pretty tough, since you can't remove the stick part from the box, so I had to remove a button to JUST get it out of there.

Getting the new stick in wasn't an issue since the box and stick are seperate. The box screwed in, but the stick was a bugger to get in.

First we followed the engrish instruction exactly, and after stuggling to shove the end clip in, we tried it out.
It worked, but it made a dreadful clunking noise that just couldn't be right.

So I looked around a bit on the net, and I stumbled across a diagram of a similar stick.

Now one of the parts in the diagram was facing the opposite direction to our stick.
Even more odd, was that the instruction that we had were specifically telling us not to have that part facing that way. (it was in a warning box!!)
But we decided to do it anyway.

Now, we originally thought that the very bottom part could be put in either way (since on the diagram provided in the instructions it looked completely different) and was a matter of preference, but when testing it out it was much better to flip that part too.
(so we had to struggle with that clip 3 times!! XD)

    Now it works pretty well.
In fact, I can play Street Fighter much, much better. I could even play as Charlie to a degree of success. (I'm not very good with charge characters)

If the warning was true and the stick does break, I'm not all too fussed about it either, since it only cost about £8 each, and I plan to get sanwa parts over time.

I need to change the other stick as well, but for now I'll leave it in there.
(Those old sticks did seem pretty dirty and worn on the bottom, it makes me wonder if they came from another cabinet (since I've never seen sticks like them!))

I also found out exactly which type of Enduro Racer my machine was converted from.
Funnily enough I though it must have been converted from an Upright cab like this one:

    Enduro_Racer_%28cabinet%29_%28upright%29.png

But its actually converted from the true original cabinet!
    Enduro_Racer_%28cabinet%29.png

You can see my cabinet clearly share the same sides and speaker slits (but I don't think the coin mech is original, but possibly could be)

    2e3d4xe.jpg

You can also see the new stick in there.
Its seems a little short, but that because the wood is pretty thick.
It handles much better than you'd think! :D

I might record a video showing it off a bit more.
See how nice it actually runs.

Things that are on my mind:

    - I wonder if I want there to be a third 'Portal'. There's the possibility that it could be another strong installment, just like the first two, but then there's also the possibility that it could turn out to only be a shadow/imitation of the first two, and end up being terrible in comparison, thus tarnishing the first two games somewhat and making the 'Portal' series no longer the glimmering picture of [near-]perfection that it is.

    - Where the hell did all the tags go? Almost all of the original, 'classic' tags have spontaneously disappeared. I feel like a part of me has died.

    - I've grown awful fond of soundtracks (both game and movie). They're just so great to listen to; there's usually so much depth and atmosphere to the music; I love it. Soon my CD collection will comprise of rock, metal and soundtracks, which will be strange.

    - I have a bad habit of buying games that I know I'm not going to play in the near future. Either I'm just a sucker for great bargains, or I'm a clever personal investor who's stocking up on dozens (which will grow to hundreds) of video games to play during my eventual retirement.

    - So I've found out that there will be a 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' in 2014. There's something to look forward to (even if it is released after the next Olympics, the next leap year and the next Armageddon).

    - 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' better be frigging awesome, otherwise I may reach a level of disappointment so severe that I will probably drop dead upon exiting the movie theater.

    - I'm happy to know that Mike Mangini is the new drummer for Dream Theater. Animal would have been the ideal choice, just ahead of Lars Ulrich, but I guess this experienced, technical world record holder will do.

    - I want my packages to arrive.

    - I will not be playing the rest of 'Back to the Future: The Game'. 2-and-a-bit episodes was enough for me. If episode 5 gets unanimously positive reviews, then I might think about it, but otherwise I will not be suffering through anymore of it. I also shan't be buying 'Jurassic Park' unless it's put on sale for $5-$10, or if some the users here whom I hold a greater degree of respect for say that it's a "good" or "great" game.

    - In recent times, MotoGP has become a relatively dull and unexciting motor-racing competition.

    - After watching the 'Hector: Badge of Carnage' shorts/trailers, I have realized that I need to buy this game. But I know that I shouldn't blow $10 on just one episode when I know that the day will come when all three episodes are bundled together and sold for a similar price in one of Telltales common, generous sales. But I really want to play it now... This is a dilemma... I am a cheapskate.

    - I wonder if 'A Day in the Life of a Turret' was, in any way, the inspiration for the faulty turrets in 'Portal 2'.

    - Gosh, this post has gone on a bit. My oh my, how I waste my time.

Anyway, that's what's on my mind, in bite-sized chunks.
