I incidentally found the thread, I had no idea about Lonnies.
It's all right. Icedhope had locked the thread because Lonnie wouldn't let the argument drop. Shortly after I became a mod, I cleaned out the inappropriate part (all 27 posts) and reopened the thread, because the locked thread felt like a stain on my record. I figured maybe someone would find it and bump it after the argument was forgotten, but I should've left well enough alone.
Thank you. Something bad might happen, I hope it's not too bad. Yes, something bad, but not too bad...

Can't get Steam to work on Wine on Mint. Sucks. I think this laptop is powerful enough to play Left4Dead, which apparently works great under Wine, and I can't get Steam to work. Figures.
He was banned after the "all new movies suck" incident where he was arguing in a loop with Davies. To my surprise, it was not permanent and he's free to come back anytime he likes.
Define new. At some point, said new movies are no longer new. Does this mean that they no longer suck? Otherwise, do you mean that all movies that were filmed after a specific, recent date all suck? If that's the case, then what is the cutoff date by which all new movies started to suck?

I, personally, haven't seen a good movie in a couple years. There hasn't been an abundance(herein defined as 3 or more per year) of good movies released since the early-mid 1990's. Many debate, very reasonably, that 1984 was the last great movie year.

So yeah, a Caanoo, with Dual PSP shoulder buttons, 2 SD card slots, Dual Analogue nubs from the 3DS, Front/side speakers, Hardware volume slider, D-pad from the Wiz, Start, select and home keys from the DSi, Built-in wifi, and 2 USB ports.
And on the inside, extra CPU power (about 1ghz processor), Ram (256mb), and a better graphics, (not much better, since its laready decent, but just enough to be as par as other mobiles).
And a HDMI out, since I freakin love HDMI out now.
(Plus its easy to get cables, and its becoming pretty standard now)

The year of Slumdog Millionaire, which I loved, there was also Iron Man which was a great hero movie with a great actor; The Wrestler with Mickey Rourke, which I thought was a powerful film about a man's demons; the Dark Knight, another great action film; Milk, with a great performance from Penn and smart writing; Frost/Nixon (probably the weakest of my movies here to me); WALL-E which is of course another great Pixar film, and the first half of that movie has such a creepy tone I found it really delightful; Kung Fu Panda which I thought was just a surprisingly funny movie that captured a real spirit to it, so much so that China was wondering how America had made a better movie about itself than it could make; Changeling which I thought was a great period movie with a lot of tension and a superb cast; and Mama Mia! based on the long running jukebox musical with its all Abba soundtrack and lighthearted fun.
This isn't even a list of all the movies that were released or nominated for 2009 Academy Awards, and I didn't even really talk about foreign films. These films are so all over the place in approach, direction, theme, writing, etc., that if most people didn't find one they liked, they could find another. All that said, if somebody told me there hadn't been a good year for movies in over two decades, I just would not believe it.
Oh and about no more than 3 good movies coming out in a year since the mid 90s, in 2007 "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will be Blood" both came out, which fills in two great movies at once. I'm not going to write up another list, but there were a bunch of other (what I think were) good to great movies that came out within that same year.
latest movies I felt were more than acceptable are Dark Knight, Shutter Island(yes, I liked it) and Avatar(and no, I'm not a 3D person. I have only seen 3 movies in 3D and I'm aware it is a retelling of Dances with Wolves etc. but it was well done and I enjoyed it thoroughly without 3D...I completely understand why people don't like it, I just do).
It's sad to me that, in this day and age, I have to rate movies as acceptable. I've been pressured and encouraged to watch so much garbage lately, it just gets to me. Except for the new fad of remakes, I dont necessarily feel cinema is declining. It's the fact that movies now take 2-3 years to make from idea to theatre. If you go back to the 80s, a company would pump out so many movies at once and they would take less than a year to produce. If one failed, bam, a month later there would be another coming. Now it seems companies are riding on 1-2 big movies a year. Production has just become ridiculous. I know it isnt as profitable, but for just pure viewing pleasure, companies should ride 1 big movie a year and produce a few lower budget films... Audiences can love a movie that doesn't cost over 100 million dollars. Shit, even the Oscars prove this. There seems to be 1 movie every year that sneaks into nomination with little budget.
I've hopped into the boat of relying on indie films for quality and originality lately. Hollywood still squeaks plenty of good movies by, but almost all of the best films I've seen in the last five years have been random no-name Netflix picks.

Yeah unfortunately its very true that the stakes are super high and so productions costs are extravagant. However, the movies I'd consider worth awards... like Slumdog, Milk and Frost/Nixon, all cost under 30 million to make. I'm just not sure that those are the movies the general public flocks to as compared to, say, Transformers.

...and for this we can blame ticket prices. Let's say someone is taking their girlfriend out for their monthly proper dinner, movie, full on night out date(in the real world where money is tight, this is common) are they more likely to go see the current #1 or most hyped movie...or study and see a theatre 9 film that peaks interest?...yeah we all know the answer. When people would go weekly to see whatever's on for 3-5 bucks, they would gamble...those days are gone.
The plot drags in places; The film takes far too long to introduce the protagonist properly by name; Woody Harrelson's character is fairly pointless, as the movie spends quite a bit of time with him only to give anti-climax to his part in the plot; The sheriff just gives up at the end with an "I'm too old for this" attitude, after investing so very much time on the case; And, most importantly, the lead protagonist dies off-screen in a fight with the antagonist which is never shown.

Just to name a few.
Haha ok at least you have legitimate points I still disagree but that's life eh?
Anyone know what comic this is from it looks awesome!
That's a variant cover for Adventure Comics #515, and it's actually an homage to an earlier Jack Kirby cover from the 1980s. It exists in massive form here. That link to the massive version comes from the artist for the piece, who did a blog post about it here.
Unrelatedly, a quick way to make me start disliking you is if your youtube favorites are made up nigh-entirely of Video Game related videos.
I have a feeling thats directed toward me.
And I mainly favorite them if I need to see it later to show someone, I really should go through and delete the ones I dont watch anymore.
EDIT:Ok there a videos I dont even remember watching in my favorites.

Thanks il check it out because it looks sweet and brings up all kinds of feelings of despair.
EDIT
I searched the title The Great Darkness Saga on the original comic in the blog and found this on Amazon.
Its pretty exciting to see my laptop actually run under 50 degrees celcius!!
Well its at 49 at the moment, which is the lowest I've ever seen it go.
Normally in idle its ranges anywhere from 55-60
A combination of cooling stand and undervolting have helped.
Boy, the stock voltages must have been pretty excessive.
(Well its generic and probably has a safe margin too)
Heck, before The Sims 3 would send my lappy straight to 80, but it was at 68!
Of course ambient temp comes into play too, since it was a pretty cold day today, and it is almost 4 am here, but I am pretty happy.
I wish my laptop had more than just 1 internal fan though, I think thats the main cause.
Its cooling consists of one bottom vent, one side vent, and a small fan.
Even worse, is that the CPU and Graphics are all squished up together on the left side.
I don't know if I'll get another HP DVx lappy in the future.
(though it is infininately better than my last laptop which had a GMA 950 in it. The horror! THE HORROR!!!!)
Video game related as in Let's Play's, game music/remixes, reviews, or any/all of the above?
And as opposed to what else? random tech tutorials? music videos for songs not already owned on mp3? political speeches?
These are my favorites, for frame of reference. Things I enjoy watching repetedly and enjoy being able to get to within a few clicks. Video Games, on the other hand, are incredibly boring to watch.

So you mean Let's Play's and reviews, then. I favorited a number of video game music related videos, primarily because I don't listen to them near often enough to download them to mp3 and because they're enjoyable yet not easily located for future reference.

I have about 17 games on there.
Unsuprisingly most of those are new games and EA games.
In fact, the only games that haven't been released this year are Il-2 Sturmovik, Unreal 2, and Bloodrayne 1+2.
I really do own most of the GOG collection now, especially since I own a lot of the other older GOGs on Gamersgate now.

But was it a bad movie?
Oh and I like Avatar it's just toooo long toward the end.
That depends, would you be able to defeat Gary Oak, a rare trait only Mewtwo possesses (isn't that a fun word to spell out?)?
Fixed.

It's Davies' birthday today. Maybe he's having a huge blowout celebration full of radioactive farm animals, and neglected to invite us.
Or maybe he's at PAX. Or maybe he got a life. I dunno.
