    Given f(x)=6x+11 and g (x)=3x^2-5x-1, find;

    (fg)(-2)

I'm not sure what that notation means. If you mean f(g(-2)), the answer would be 137. g(-2) is 21, and f(21) is 137.

I was busy all day yesterday, and didn't read all the dragon*con posts 'til just now. I would have said from the first few that it sounded like those of you who were there had a great time, and congrats to the Comrades on their engagement (it sounds like a neat place to get engaged), but now it sounds like everything exploded instead. Sooooo, ummm, how about just that things don't always go the way you plan, and the key to these things is to make your own fun no matter what happens.

So your new assignment is to convince yourselves you had fun, and don't worry about where everyone was. :)

Thank you, I'll look at it again, apparently it's something about functions and I never paid attention in math and so I'm really behind. I've been getting through it so far easily but I haven't found a proper way to look at this yet.

    Fascinating.

I didn't think Merlin would ever drink tap water, (seems to hate it normally), but he was just sitting on the table next to me drinking out of a cup of water that had been sitting there for hours.
(I forgot I made it, so I thought it odd to hear a lapping sound...)

I guess what I read on the net was true, that some cats will only drink tap water if its been there for a while.

I guess its the smell of the chemicals or something.

He still definately prefers rain water though.
We have a few buckets and puddle spots for him to drink from, and this being England, we not normally short of rain! XD

We also did a puzzle on Monday, and we left the box on the table, which he has taken a fondness for.

Keeps sleeping in the lid, which is quite unusual for him.
Normally he just sleeps randomly around the house, but most of the days he's just been there, snoozing happily.

I kept playing with him, by putting the other part of the box on him, (just covering him obviously).
He didn't like it so much, but he was a good sport today, and very cuddly.

I tried him in a shoebox I had lying around today, and he didn't like it.
Just jumped out and sat back in the puzzle box lid.

I'm thinking in the future, I need to find a nice sized cardboard box for him, and put a cushion in there, (he loves cushions).

He never took to a cat bed when he was a kitten, but I think he prefers a nice rigidity to that plush squishy-ness those beds normally are.

Maybe it would stop him from sleeping on clothes, or in incredibly awkward places.

Am I the only one excited that NHL 12 and the new Anthrax album come out the same day?

    ...Here? I'd say that's a safe bet.

Never felt so down before, I just don't feel like doing anything, and work just seem long and boring even though I have something to do.

I've been studying for about 12 hours. Come Friday, when the test is over, I'm going to Austin for a bazillion drinks.

Certainly not me. I'm into Anthrax's Thrash era and don't like games dedicated to hockey (but the ice hockey minigames in Spyros 2 & 3 are ok).

Got my Batman DVDs today! :D

Already have all 56 episodes converted and stored on my Caanoo for holiday.

(Had to sacrifice Haibane Renmei though... But I may have juuuust enough space for it if I reconvert them tomorrow, (It was the smallest series at 4 discs, so reconversion would essentially be faster, and the end product smaller)).

God I am stoked for it! :D

One is babbling, the other is talking too much. I only know this because I read way too much fiction.

The worst part is that I actually enjoyed the cheeseburger more on the way up than I did on the way down. F minus minus, would not eat again even if it didn't make me sick.

    Huzzah!

I'm going to have to learn all these words anyway if I end up taking the GRE again. Which I probably will because I'm not sure I did quite well enough the first time. Math? Probably. Verbal? Not so much.

I didn't see this first, but feel better, Guru! Food poisoning sucks.

Depends. I would generally say no I don't, but I do live in a very right-wing state and it annoys me the line some people have here about federal politcs, especially when it involves idiots like Sarah Palin.

Just received my portable Rock Band drums. :D

Know what? Drumming is damn hard. And seriously fulfilling when you're not sucking out loud. But also hard.
  • edited September 2011
It's hard, but it gets easier as you do it more. I used to barely do okay on Medium. Now, a little less than a year ago, I managed to drum the Endless Setlist 2 on Hard without failing a song and only one three-star.
