Iron Maiden's Final Frontier is proggier than its predecessors and for many, it's not Maiden anymore. I can see how this puts off fans of their older stuff. Personally, I prefer their new album and Dance of Death, followed by Matter of Life and Death and Brave New World. I dislike Run to the Hills (can't see why it's better than anything else they've done to reach mainstream) and find Number of the Beast overplayed.

But then I enjoy old and new Hard Rock, my taste going as far back as Chuck Berry and Hendrix, through Stones/Zeppelin/Sabbath/Cream/Purple/Diamond Head/Rush/ AC/DC and Maiden/Metallica/Stranglers/Saxon/Scorpions/Megadeth/Iggy to Korn/Opeth/KSE/FFDP/Greenday/Dream Theater/Coheed/BfmV/Lacuna Coil/Lamb of God/Skindred. I also enjoy Peter Gabriel, Radiohead and Elbow, who sit in a different genre entirely.

Back from my holiday and completely worn out from the traveling. Trying to keep myself up so I get a decent sleep tonight. Tomorrow I need to unpack *sigh* I need a holiday to recover from my holiday...

    Thanks for posting that.

All signs point to the fact that I never sleep.

Why did I have to get sick right after watching Contagion? Well, I'm off to take my temperature every half hour for the rest of the day!

I find it amusing that my computer monitor has a higher native resolution than my LCD TV.

My monitor is 1440x900, while my TV likes 1280x720 (720p) so when I set my TV up as a second monitor, objects that are the same relative size fill up more screen real estate on the TV than on the monitor despite the TV being considerably larger.

I know this is normal, but I still find it amusing.

I think I'll start following Stormwatch from the DC reboot because Paul Cornell is writing it

Epitome of what was good about Maiden's early years.

    News:
Main job ends Friday 19th September. Compliance Assistant for a Fund Administration company, on a project-based rolling contract. They were a few months over budget and the current project is nearly finished.

My part-time employer is looking for voluntary transfers in my store, so they are tightening their budgets too. I'll try them for holiday/sickness cover in other stores but not got my hopes up.

The only glimmer of hope on the horizon is a Civil Service job in the island's hospital, in the reprographics department (that's essentially photocopying, for those who don't know), 10 hours per week for a miserable hourly rate until (if as promised) the hospital expands their IT helpdesk provision.

I could easily be completely unemployed by October. 47 hours to 12 to 6 to 0.

I guess what this epically long thread proves is that Telltaliens have quite a lot on their minds...or just like shouting into the vacuum of internet space.

    One or the other.
  • edited September 2011
I hate this thread so much.

This post is like the opposite of the Boy Meet's World finale.

    I hate you all.

    Class dismissed.

    :(

Just kidding. I love it here. :P

    This thread will never die!

-waits for thread to get closed in an ironic fashion-
  • edited September 2011
I think it will die at the 20,000th post and will be reincarnated with 1 (a mod's) post in a new thread with the same name. The original thread will be renamed and locked.

This thread is about shouting into empty face.
  • edited September 2011
For some reason, this is what I think of when I think of an "empty face"

Fitting since it's from a soulless movie.
  • edited September 2011
They had to get rid of something to make room for the product placement. The soul and actual connection to the source work had to go, otherwise how could they fit the real point of the film into its running time?
  • edited September 2011
Yes I got a post on the 1,000 page of this thread!
And to "contribute" I was playing the orange box(half life 2 episode 1 360 version) and the volume for whatever reason freaking skyrocket to earbleed level. Hoping it was a glitch or something that wont happen again, that really hurt my ears.

    I don't want a child. I'm too young and can't handle them

Maybe if I say this enough it will start being true.

Here's a question, Why do we have to grow up? Why do we have to stop having fun all the time? It sucks, SUCKS I TELL YOU!

Oh crap, I don't want my grandkids to know I was a perverted and angsty teenager. CRAP!

MY spellcheck says Angsty is not a word. It should be.
  • edited September 2011
My grandkids will probably be clones, so they'll completely understand. And MY spellcheck says that both "grandkids" and "spellcheck" aren't words.

I dont like kids or the prospect of having them. On the other hand, I do like the prospect of making money.
  • edited September 2011
Well...having kids is sorta the opposite of making money. It's like having a leech attached to your bank account. Or, at least, that's what my parents tell me. And it's worse when you have intelligent kids who go to expensive, world-class universities.
  • edited September 2011
Exactly why I won't ever have kids. Or at least I won't until I'm bankrolling at a level I find sufficient to have them.
  • edited September 2011
    I plan on clones, myself.
