After having one of their donuts, I realized that I had been living a lie my entire life and that a donut is hardly worth eating unless it is still warm from the oven, dripping with freshly made glaze.

You mean still warm from the deep fryer? Or do they actually bake their doughnuts?

Regardless, that sounds soooo good. I miss warm fresh doughnuts too, except substitute cinnamon sugar for glaze. Haven't had one of those since I was a kid.

The weekend flea market here does those cinnamon sugar donuts fresh. They are amazing. I go down there every once in a while pretty much just for those. Other than that, I've only seen them at fairs as of late.

You live in NEW YORK. Are you actually going to tell me that you can't find a single good DONUT SHOP in all of New York City? Because if you can't personally I'm pretty sure you have to be walking down the street blindfolded and with horrendously bad sinus problem every single day.

Here. One week-old foodie guide to amazing donuts. GO (do) NUTS.

Well it's not like I've been searching relentlessly all that time. :p

Odd coincidence, a couple of guys at work have arranged a doughnut run for tomorrow morning. This place doesn't have cinnamon sugar ones though as far as I can tell. I went all American and asked for a jam (I guess you call it jelly) doughnut with a peanut butter glaze. I think it might be disgusting.

It's not a usual thing to do communal doughnuts... I wonder if they're doing it in honour of bonus day (which was Friday). To "get a doughnut" in terms of bonus means to get $0, haha. Doughnuts for everyone!

    Oh wow, this looks PERFECT:

Thank you. I now know what I'm doing next Sunday morning. Will report back with results.

I think they actually do both. They have a large number of different varieties of donuts. The place spoiled me and I only went there about three times during my Berkeley experience. I also discovered that donuts are best around one-thirty in the morning.

Got heavy duty degreaser sprayed on my face. I think it was a joke. A really horrible one.

Not feeling too well. Kind of just want to take a nap and not think about anything.

I don't really have anything else to say, so I guess I'll just leave now.

Only 10 days til I see my guy! :D

I never want to be apart this long again if we can help it. Stupid early-stage love and the ridiculous attachment hormones.

Also, this (phone camera sucks for macro):

    Attachment not found.

I had half and feel vaguely ill. Probably need more doughnut-eating practice.

    That, doesn't look very appetising.

I guess I'll throw my favourites in here.
Chocolate covered Bavarian cream or even whipping cream filled
    Apple Fritters
    Double chocolate
    Glazed

I'm not very adventurous, but I love my donuts.

Well. Finally got my Raspberry Pi working with XMBC (via Raspbmc).

Its a bit slow, (its early days on most Raspberry Pi stuff), and the sound randomly cuts out, but it works pretty well! :D
(Had to disable visualiser as well since that was slowing things down a bit)

I put on a few Mp3's and a few movies off my external harddrive (the 1.5tb one, it HAS to be a externally powered hard drive since the Raspberry Pi couldn't handle the power being drawn from it via the usb).

I ordered a custom made case for about £10 for it as well today, so once I eventually get that. I'll play with it some more.

(Just being cautious at the moment. Putting it back in the sleeve it came in when not in use)

Eventually this could be a incredibly good device.
(Might need a slight upgrade in later models once the electronics get cheaper)

I mean, it works alright. My 32inch TV is a little too big to be used as a screen for it (well a PC screen...). I might buy a smaller monitor/TV at a later date for it.

I hear that hardware acceleration on the graphics chip hasn't been fully implemented on some software, which explains the general slowness in some areas.
(The CPU being quite slow anyway. But as a emulation machine/media playback device it will be adequate with optimisations)

I need to figure out how to build sources now, as thats preventing me from doing much.

Overall though, £25-30 for a pc in your hand is pretty darn good. :D

Confirmed. It was not the greatest. Half was too much... I won't be eating again until dinner, if even then.

I'll eat anything with sprinkles on it. I don't know why, but I always feel that donuts should have sprinkles. Also, I should qualify that by "anything" I meant "any standard donut flavor. No fish".

I also like old fashioned ones. Glazed are okay if I don't need my hands to do anything for the next ten minutes.

This may sound weird, but I don't normally eat bacon as a breakfast food. It's more my "two in the morning and don't want to cook something more complicated" food.

Technically, it's "doughnut" here as well, but Tim Horton's changed us to "donuts". We get enough flack over colour, favourite, flavour anyway.

    Award of Moderate Achievement.

I have Other M. I loved Super Metroid and thought I'd love this as it's pretty much a direct sequel. I hated the controls and ended up shelving it on the 2nd or 3rd boss.

In today's episode of "Games with music that needs to be a little more appreciated" we have the wonderous classic series: Pilotwings

These games had some pretty nice music, and I think they deserve a bit more attention than they get!

I recently listened to Pilot Wings - Take Flight, a remix album by OCRemix and it does do some good stuff.
But I argue that the original tunes can't be beat! HAHA!

Games with music that would fit well in a playlist/remix/medley with this game:

    - Chrono Trigger
    - Sim City
    - Super Mario Kart
