Still no comment on Puzzlebox' unusual color. The community must be blind. :o

I have just logged in and had no chance to make a comment. Then again ... I have never met Puzzlebox so I probably wouldn't know whats her usual colour :p

I just thought I must have been really angry and seeing red for some reason. But only in specific areas.

I just read in today's newspaper, that the Pope recently claimed he hoped that paradise was like the time of his youth.
When my sister heard this, she was like 'Wait!? Didn't he grow up in the Third Reich?!?'

    The vatican says:
His youthful years were not easy. His faith and the education received at home prepared him for the harsh experience of those years during which the Nazi regime pursued a hostile attitude towards the Catholic Church. The young Joseph saw how some Nazis beat the Parish Priest before the celebration of Mass.

Oh goody! That's exactly how much one Guybrush coat (materials plus labor) would run you! I can pay you in coats!

My only measurement for these things are random strangers on Etsy. There are totally sub-$500 pirate coats there! =P

I'm sure yours will be twice as cool, though.

Actually a Guybrush coat would really run 200 or 300$. I was just making a joke. Something like Guybrush would Realistically be 50-100$ in materials, plus 10 hours labor.

But semantics! Actually, the Elane costume is more labor intensive because it has a corset.

Aha! So you STILL owe me roughly $200 in joke dollars!

Does all this mean we can expect Dashing to cultivate a ponytail?

I'm not even sure if it means we can expect him to figure out wearing contacts! And I still don't know my measurements for a coat anyway!

...it's possible I didn't think this through very well.

Ah don't worry. As a serious cosplayer I have a wig you can borrow.

Also I don't wear contacts when cosplayinf. Just take my glasses offs for photos.

I used to do that because I couldn't stand the idea of sticking something in my eye. Then I did one costume where I had to wear costume sunglasses...

    PICT0020.jpg
And I have much better shoes for it now.

...and another where I had a giant mask with black fabric over the eyeholes, no peripheral vision, and no room for glasses inside.

    DSC01501.jpg

That proved to be too much of a pain, so I got contacts.
  • edited June 2012
Well this would be my first go at it, so I can be the idiot who wears glasses the whole time I guess. =P

Contacts are pretty easy. I wear them nearly constantly. The trick is to get hard contacts, since those prevent your vision from worsening (if you have a mishapen eye, which is what I've got) and you can wear them for a really long time. I think my record is somewhere around thirty-six hours, but I also wasn't sleeping and I took them out for two days following that. But sixteen to twenty hours is generally what I get out of them.

And then when you first get them, they're something of a bitch to get used to at first, so what I did was I only wore them for an hour the first day, two hours the second, and so forth until I could wear them all day long. And with all that putting in and taking out, you get really used to it. At the beginning, it took me about a half hour to get them both in, now it takes about thirty seconds. Maybe less.

The Lazarus: Form Recovery add-on for Firefox just now saved me from losing text I tried to post here.
  • edited June 2012
I use a similar add-on called Textarea Cache. It's really helpful. I think I need to install it on my laptop, though, since it's not popping up in the context menu right now.

Sorry I'm late to the party with this whole "OMG, Cosplaying Dash? This'll be bizarre!" business. My Internet has been - and is being - apocalyptically awful. That being said...

OMG, Cosplaying Dash? This'll be bizarre!

Also, does anyone know how to threaten my ISP into giving me their best service possible for free? I feel I've suffered slow enough - and non-existent enough - service these past few days to warrant it.

Yes. Expensive guns that I don't want the Popo to confiscate if I fuck up a perfectly morally excusable job. Seriously, have you dealt with Charter Communications? They're basically the American branch of the Ba'ath Party.

Need help, i'm trying to find an old-timey miracle cure print to hang up in what I hope will become the games room. It's gotta make extraordinary boisterous claims. Somethin' a bit like this...

Macchu Picchu in one month... I don't feel anywhere near ready. It's not like I'll die on the trail or anything, but the fitter I am the more I'll enjoy it, so the mission is to get as hardass as possible between now and go-time.

Also, I get to see my guy in 3 days!! :D

Life is pretty good and exciting right now. There's a lot to look forward to.

Had a real blast with my best buddy over the last few days!! :)
Sunday-Tuesday, three days of little sleep, Doritos and Sweets, amine and videogames!!!

The best parts were playing co-op minecraft (we did SO much random crap in 3 days. A gigantic fort built into a mountain, a insanely long mineshaft full of lava, obsidian, and monsters, exploring the ENTIRE map, building secret exits, creating a lookout point on the top of the map that gives this fantastic view of everything, ghast baiting in the nether world, and so much more! XD), trying to drag each other into traps in Little Big Planet 2, and me trying to put him off Expert guitar in Guitar Hero by doing stupid stuff with the vocals.

Phew! So much fun I'm totally beat!xo

Oh well... Back to normality now...
