It's stories like this that always make me realize just how much of an oddity it is that I've known my best friend since third grade. I've had plenty of friends that I've grown apart from, just like anyone else, but my best friend is someone I've known for 16 years. That's a full two thirds of my life. At this point, she's practically a sister to me.
I drifted apart from pretty much all of my friends when I started secondary school. Even the friend who was still in my side of the year group. By the end of the five years, we'd all become different people (one your stereo-typical teenage band member, others had dipped into drugs, one had turned into a "jack the lad", and one spent most of the time drunk and was/is covered in piercings. I of course became the nerd you all know (and maybe love. Please? I'll pay you.)
Circumstances are again meaning I see less and less of my friends (all barring two are at universities, and those work weeks and I work weekends), but I'm determined to not let it happen.
But yeah, you should treasure your friendship guru. They say you never make friends like those of your childhood. I'm sure a psychologist would say it was to do with the shared vulnerability of childhood or something.
My dad got an old 24inch monitor out of a skip where he was working.
An Acer AL2416W.
Apparently it didn't work, but its running just fine right in front of me now! XD
Well. It didn't have any drivers, and the computer was using the old one so it looked blurry.
(Maybe thats what they thought was wrong with it. The company doesn't really care though, they have a sort of contract where they can just get new stuff and throw the old stuff away willy-nilly. Its just amazing what cool stuff they just throw away. Honestly!)
With the powers of google I found the right drivers, and its now running 1920x1200 resolution very nicely.
Two things about it.
Its apparently an analog screen, according to the drivers. (Well, it says (analog) and the installed driver date is 2005? Which seems odd...)
The second thing, is that it is Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge!!
I mean its quite chunky, but the actual screen size, being 24 inch is massive!
Considering though that our monitors have been like 15-17 inch beforehand though, that may be a little exagerrated because its a big change.
But seriously, its big.
I mean, I can see massive side-areas to this forum screen now. It looks weird. o_0
EDIT: Installing Unreal Tournament 2004, (since the Kitchen PC is only a Pentium D, 9400gt, so its a bit weak), to see how nice it games.
EDIT 2: It looks very pretty!
(Set everything to max, and with a little .ini editing, I got it to boot to 1920x1200 by default (before it set itself to 800x600 and it messed up a little))
On January 31, 2011, Oddworld Inhabitants confirmed that a HD remake of Abe's Oddysee is being developed by UK studio Just Add Water. The remake is described by series creator Lorne Lanning as "basically Abe's Oddysee being redone in a 3D physics engine as a 2D side-scrolling platformer," stating the developers "are not trying to reinvent any wheels." Later in 2011, Oddworld Inhabitants have confirmed on their FAQ on their own website that JAW will develop a new Oddworld game which is currently called Abe HD.[50]
On June 5, 2012, Oddworld Inhabitants announced on Facebook that Abe's Oddysee will be rebooted and it will be a completely new game released during the Summer of 2013, with a public showing later in the year.[51] Later that day, they confirmed the game will be a remake of the original PlayStation title, started from scratch with 2D gameplay and 3D graphics, using the original as a blueprint.[52]
At its heart, The Old Republic seems kind of rip off-y of the Original Trilogy of Star Wars. Galaxies, at least, expands upon and adds to the setting. The choice is clear, here.
My imagination is having a hard time overcoming the logic (or lack thereof) involved in you knowing your parents adopted you before they themselves knew.
...unless they recently (ie. after your adoption) sustained brain damage. But then there ought to be more important problems to deal with.
Can I have a do over on the past 2 days? They've kinda sucked
Also, does anyone know when it stopped being possible to buy individual telltale episodes? I can't get the one Sam and Max game I'm missing because of that
How dare my free shit not be exactly WHAT I AUTHORIZE IT TO BE.
NO I AM NOT BEING SARCASTIC. I AM A PRINCE AMONG MEN,
AND I MUST BE APPEASED. I WILL RAIN MY WRATH DOWN ON
THESE JERKS LIKE FRAKKING ZEUS. I WILL FEED REGGIE
LIGHTNING DOWN HIS FRAKKING THROAT. WOULD YOU LIKE SOME
KETCHUP AND MUSTARD WITH THAT, BITCH?
I had no idea about this... nor the July 1st cut-off. I bought a 3DS and a couple games in the last week of June. I ended up JUST missing it. Oh well, sucks to be me.
Hopefully none of it gets cancelled, as it would get me another £140 to add to the kitty.
From the looks of it, next month I might actually have positive money for once! XD
I just have to try not to spend too much. Avoiding the summer sale is the main priority, (though I probably have most of the games I'd want on steam already anyway).
Huh. Too bad I already have Metroid II and Majora's Mask on their respective Virtual Consoles. Guess I have to choose between Super Mario Kart and Mario vs. Donkey Kong.
In my position, sitting at gold status, this beats the crap out of the stupid calendar I was expecting to get stuck with.
Santander has stupidly switched my account from a Student to a Graduate account.
Even though I already told them I was doing a 4 year course not a 3 year, AND, now its probably a 5 year course since I had to use this year to fix last year.
Guess I'll be contacting my course leader once again, (to get some evidence of circumstances), and I guess I'll have to drop in to the local bank to try to sort this mess out.
Blech! Banks. Hate 'em.
EDIT: Thanks Santander, you have made me depressed and worried again!
(And I was just starting to get the self-loathing a little more undercontrol...)
In short, I quit Minecraft modding. I'm done with this shit.
It's now time to unveil my current project.
The ClashBattle Engine, a Super Smash Bros. like engine, one that is capable of being the MUGEN of Super Smash Bros., and can also be used for commercial games.
Which I will then use to create regular platform games.
How dare my free shit not be exactly WHAT I AUTHORIZE IT TO BE.

Lets see here.
I own all the games but SMK(which I don't care for), see zero use for a calendar or trading cards, so I guess I'm getting the posters which I also have zero use for... yay?
For some reason, I've suddenly come down with waves of nostalgia for a game I haven't played since I owned one of those colorful iMacs. In internet time, I hadn't even really acknowledged that the internet was a thing that had anything other than email and people always complained when they tried to phone friends who were online continuously because both internet and phone went in the same line.
There were probably dinosaurs wandering around outside when I last played this game.
The game I'm referring to is, of course, Bugdom. The only game where you can play as Rolly McFly, a pillbug wearing tennis shoes who apparently likes to kick ants and has an borderline obsession with very feminine ladybugs and four leaf clover.
And I'm very sad because it looks like it will be very difficult for me to find this game.
Edit: Actually, come to think of it, I should have posted this in the Games that Don't Deserve to be Forgotten thread... Well... guess I should do that...
Also, does anyone know when it stopped being possible to buy individual telltale episodes? I can't get the one Sam and Max game I'm missing because of that

This reminds me that I need to go back and finish off Lost Odyssey. :')

Oh well! Long Live "Big Head Mode"!
Question to discuss:
How should I tell my parent's that I am adopted?
Stranger 1: lmao
Stranger 2: hahah
Stranger 1: you win
1) How is that possible?
2) I don't get why strangers are discussing it.
Stranger chat. And its possible if.....idk use your imagination.

I know, counter-productive.
I hope that means they got rid of some of the ridiculous background actors then...
Or not.
Lets see here.

My step-mom loves them, so I've seen bits of them. I can only remember one bit from any of them
Charlie: Can you keep secret?
Other guy: Yes
Charlie: Well, so can I.
...
I don't exactly know how to feel about that...
Oh Fawful. You always know the right thing to say!

Makes me feel lonely.
(Better get playing Monster Hunter on the double!)
It's just too darn hot!!
And I need more visitors to watch "Whip it" with. Seriously. I can't watch that movie all alone yet again.
