The chorus of the Cutting Crew song "(I Just) Died in Your Arms" kinda fits what happened in ToMI Chapter 4:

    I, I just died in your arms tonight;
It must've been something you said.
I just died in your arms tonight.
    Oh,
    I, I just died in your arms tonight;
It must've been some kind of kiss.
    I should've walked away.
    I should've walked away.

Hate to keep this up again, but how about "Hands to Heaven" by Breathe? The words and chorus mostly fit Guybrush's being afraid of losing Elaine to LeChuck, even in his final moments.

So I packaged all the MI songs into one zip file. Didn't no where to put it, so...

Also, sorry 'bout some of the names in ToMI music. And I gave all the credit to Michael Land. So there.

Well, I hate to bring this back, but how about "Hurt" by Christina Aguilera, about Guybrush's feelings for Morgan after her betrayal and her death throughout ToMI Chapter 4?

I think Home by Chris Daughtry really fits the whole feel of Chapter 5 of ToMI.

I really should get off my lazy butt and make a Monkey Island music video using this song, lol.

    State of Siege by Serenity.

The beginning of the music reminds me a lot of the music in Curse of Monkey island.

For Monkey Island in general, "Gone" by Tokyo Police Club seems to fit in tone:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mP9Nh2q6OUM

TOMI Chapter 4, The Police, "Bring on the Night"
-Kinda for the sense of uncertainty and a certain desire for closure on Guybrush's part (Though it happens with disastrous consequences)

TOMI Chapter 5, Rush, "Ghost Rider"
-A bit risky I know, but the sense of continuing to find hope even through the bleakest darkness seems to work well with the various demons (Both physical and emotional) that Guybrush has to grapple with in this chapter.

Anyhoo, lemme know what you think.

One piece of music that reminds me of 'Monkey Island' is the main riff of Jethro Tull's "Wicked Windows". Once it starts up and the flute comes in for the first time, I instantly begin to picture the environments featured in the 'Escape...' version of Monkey Island; that's just the automatic imagery that springs to mind.

The entire (brilliant) Plastic Beach album by Gorillaz puts ToMI in my mind. I'm not sure why, it might be the beach theme, it might be the atmosphere or it might be that I was listening to it a LOT while going through the game.

This one reminds quite a bit of LeChuck's Theme, and it's really no surprise how Land said that a lot of his inspiration for the first game came from the Disneyland attraction music...

    Great arrangement, by the way.

Message in a Bottle by the Police.

For some reason, I always get this image of Guybrush walking along the shores of Monkey Island.

MOONSHINER (Favorite song of all time):
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgyYWIR3N90

    I'm a rambler, I'm a gambler, I'm a long way from home
And if you don't like me, well, leave me alone
I'll eat when I'm hungry, I'll drink when I'm dry
And the moonshine don't kill me, I'll live til I die

I've been a moonshiner for many a year
I've spent all me money on whiskey and beer
I'll go to some hollow, I'll set up my still
And I'll make you a gallon for a ten shilling bill

    I'm a rambler, I'm a gambler, I'm a long way from home
And if you don't like me, well, leave me alone
I'll eat when I'm hungry, I'll drink when I'm dry
And the moonshine don't kill me, I'll live til I die

I'll go to some hollow in this counterie
Ten gallons of wash I can go on a spree
No women to follow, the world is all mine
I love none so well as I love the moonshine

    I'm a rambler, I'm a gambler, I'm a long way from home
And if you don't like me, well, leave me alone
I'll eat when I'm hungry, I'll drink when I'm dry
And the moonshine don't kill me, I'll live til I die

Oh, moonshine, dear moonshine, oh, how I love thee
You killed me old father, but ah you try me
Now bless all moonshiners and bless all moonshine
Their breath smells as sweet as the dew on the vine

    I'm a rambler, I'm a gambler, I'm a long way from home
And if you don't like me, well, leave me alone
I'll eat when I'm hungry, I'll drink when I'm dry
And the moonshine don't kill me, I'll live til I die

I love pirate music and Irish songs. I love my Irish roots :P Must be why I love drinking.

"Glory of Love" by Peter Cetera, fitting the part about Guybrush willing to fight for Elaine.

Discovered another one. Seems to be the inspiration for The Swordfight theme...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=9BDlqlhcCIk

Listen very carefully at 3:00. Notice anything familiar? ;)

You can hear the influence more clearly at COMI, during the sea battles segment.
The one from TOMI seems to be a mix between the Beethoven string line and Wagner's chords. Both are still awesome, though!

    Keeping this up.

I'm thinking of "Forever Autumn" by Justin Hayward of The Moody Blues, which could remind us of
    our reaction to Guybrush's death
at the end of Chapter 4, which was back in the days following Halloween of 2009, where the chapter was released.

I can't find a link or video as I don't know what it was called or what episodes it was used in, but one of Giacchino's "jungle theme" tracks from Lost always reminded me of Monkey Island.
  • The Beastie Boys' "Stop That Train" from Paul's Boutique. The beat anyway.
