How about "What's My Age Again?" by Blink-182? It kind of reminds me of Guybrush's antics as a pirate, and yet he still acts like a prepubescent child despite being an adult. Here are the lyrics in this link:
Iron Maiden's "Blood Brothers" sort of reminded me of Monkey Island when I was listening to it the other day. It has some beautiful melodies in some of the less heavy parts of the song, some of which reminded me of Monkey Island. It'd probably be a pretty good song to make a tribute video to, except it would probably have to be trimmed a little.
How about "All Star" by Smash Mouth? Should remind me pretty much of Guybrush.

"I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed" - this can certainly be related to Guybrush at times (though, not all of the time; Guybrush does show some moments of intelligence). And there are other lines throughout the song that sort of relate to Guybrush, his experiences, his situation and his way of living:
"Didn't make sense not to live for fun" - Guybrush always seems to want to do what he wants. "So much to do so much to see" - It sort of sums up Guybrush's situation when he is first seen washing up on the shores of Melee Island and is automatically thrust into the pirating world. "Only shooting stars break the mold" - Guybrush does not fit the mold one bit . "Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me" - Nobody would have expected Guybrush to last a day in the pirating world, but heck, look at him now. He's killed LeChuck 5 times, he's famous for it, and he's the pirating equivalent of a 'rockstar' or an 'allstar'.
Yes, I guess this does remind me a little of Guybrush, lyrically.

Another piece of music that reminds me of Monkey Island is 4:45-4:57 of Dream Theater's "Panic Attack". I'm not exactly sure why, but it reminds me of LeChuck each time I listen to it. Perhaps it sounds a little like on of LeChuck's themes, but I'm not too sure of that.
Edit: Wait, here we are. I've found out why it reminds me of LeChuck, it is because it sounds similar to one of his themes. The part of "Panic Attack" that I mentioned actually sounds quite similar to some of tunes from the opening minute-or-so of "Rollercoaster of Death" from the 'Curse...' soundtrack. At least I think so, anyway - I'm certain that there's a distinct similarity between the two pieces of music.

A bit old school ( I blame my involvement in SCA for this one), but I associate sea shanties, especially "Don't Forget Your Old Shipmates" and "High Barbary" for some reason, with Monkey Island.
How about Amy Lee's cover of "Sally's Song" from The Nightmare Before Christmas? Though the song describes Sally's feelings for Jack Skellington and her fears that disaster will happen through his mistake, the song may describe Elaine's feelings for Guybrush and how his mistakes may end up having him get killed like they did in Tales of Monkey Island, especially in Chapter 4.

Virgin Black's instrumental "Weep For Me" kind of traces to Guybrush being hurt by LeChuck's Cutlass of Kaflu and then dying in Elaine's arms. I wondered why I didn't know what the instrumental's name was when it was played in Haggis' YouTube video of the incident almost a year back.
How about "My Happy Ending" by Avril Lavigne? I think it kind of fits about how LeChuck acted friendly to Guybrush and Elaine from ToMI Chapter 2 all the way to Chapter 4, until LeChuck double-crossed them both and fatally stabbed Guybrush in the chest, which kind of fits the lyrics in the chorus: "And all this time you were pretending / So much for my happy ending."
I can hardly say it, but the ending of Michael Jackson's song "Thriller", narrated by Vincent Price, may fit the theme of Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 4.

I have always felt the album Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller) by Captain Beefheart And The Magic Band fits Monkey Island perfectly. It has a happy sounding piratey feel and some moments of sheer genius, but general cohesion. There are also a few moments where it gets quite dark, quite emotional or quite epic. And then it even has quite a dark ending compared to the blissed out horns of the earlier songs on the album. Personally I think the songs best suited to the game are Tropical Hot Dog Night (Track 2) Ice Rose (Track 3), You Know You're A Man (Track 5) and Owed T'Alex (Track 8), but they're all good. When I used to run MI1&2 on XP before ScummVM and the sound didn't work, I always used to listen to this.
Alestorm was mentioned practically right off the bat, but here's a track, with an album cover to match, that sounds, looks and feels *just* like what might be going on in LeChuck's ship:
Don't forget about the song "Addicted" by Enrique Inglesias, which kind of traces Guybrush's feelings for Elaine, especially at the end of Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 4.
Or maybe Far Away from Nickleback- when he isn't with Elaine, like when he's far away from here (Chapter 3 the most of chapter 1 and half of chapter 4)
Here's another song: "Even in Death" by Evanescence, which can remind me of Elaine's sadness for Guybrush at the end of Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 4 and right between this chapter and Chapter 5.

Ooh, I've been meaning to post here for a while. I've been listening to 'The Islander' by Nightwish, and I can't help but think of Monkey Island each time. It's more the musical aspect of the song that reminds me of it, with that whole sea-shanty sound that it has.
But I guess the lyrics do remind me of Monkey Island as well. It makes me think about Herman Toothrot. It's just too bad the character's personality (humourous, odd, silly) doesn't exactly suit the serious, profound nature of the song.

Because, although she brought Guybrush into De Singe, and was the reason for Guybrush being captured by the Flotsam citizens, she did feel sorry and she did end up caring for Guybrush afterward. And, of course, we remember that Guybrush's words to Morgan in Club 41 were far from nice or comforting.

It's almost like reggae (Dream Theater style, that is), and since most of the Monkey Island soundtrack has a reggae vibe, I can't help but be reminded of the series when hearing this particular snippet of music.
The rest of the song, however, sounds absolutely nothing like anything you would hear in Monkey Island .
