Stan's theme is brilliant in Escape, I really liked what Peter done with it. I liked how his theme slightly changes each time, in Revenge it's gone that Funeral march to it, in Curse it has that Crypt and Morgue sound part, in Escape it has that Tropical Carnival sound (which fit for the Island he was on at the time). In Tales, it was just the basic jingle repeated, I guess there was a lack of budget for certain characters themes.
I only had music on the beach and at the giant X, not in the jungle.
Odd thing, the music IS there in the games files, so if it's just a script error or something, it could be easily patched back into the game along with the other iMuse cues they forgot to put in the game but have recorded.
Oh my goodness. What's with all the missing cues that are there but not scripted?? Honestly, this really IS and unfinished product. They just better darn well patch this. It's quite annoying.

Yeah, the opening credits is actually fully in there, even the SE monkeys and the "you guys get out of here" voice file, we just need to find a way of getting it to work in the game.
The flute cue when being sucked up into the voodoo lady hut is in the resource files but not in the game either. The XBL version probably has the Dinky Jungle theme because it has no iMuse. Methinks their makeshift iMuse system that patches on top of the original game is glitchy and/or unfinished.

Well if the whole opening credits are there in the files im sure Lucasarts will notice their mistake with everyone upset about it, but its another thing if they can be bothered to patch it.
btw how did you go about finding the opening creits file?

Actually, you can hear the music on Dinky Island ingame if you just save the game and then load it. Then it keeps playing until you quit the jungle.
I can confirm that the Dinky Island music is intact in the XBLA version throughout the jungle & the beach. Also, after extensive play, the iMUSE system is also fully intact during Dinky & the swamp rooms. However, iMUSE is totally missing during the Woodtick rooms & there are no transitions. It just changes abruptly there.
Ive just noticed that the Scabb Island map is a bit glitchy for me, it seems to have a "glaze" like the motion of moving water over the top of it sometimes.
Typing "mixnmojo forums" on Google leads you right to it. When I don't have a bookmark that's what I do. It's not that hard. I don't remember the link offhand and I don't want to have to go hunting for it myself. If you really want it, go get it .

I was there two minutes ago but I can't find that software. I'm not expecting you to do the linking work for me, will do it later...maybe.
There is someone working on more listenable versions of of the soundtrack (since they're all cut up into iMuse snippets) so perhaps waiting for this would be more ideal anyway.

My opinion of the game is that it's great. I'm not so concerned about the missing intro, the list of constructive things to do after the end credits, or the changes to various dialog lines (Kyle Katarn, white slavers, etc.). I consider those things very minor (to me, not saying others don't have the right to be upset) and did not spoil my enjoyment of this game in the slightest.
If I had to complain about anything it would be the ridiculous speed required for the timed puzzles (Stan's coffin, spitting contest, Largo's room, etc.). I have played Monkey Island countless times in the past so I knew what the solution was for those puzzles and, even still, I had great difficulty getting them done quickly enough. Imagine if this was your first time playing MI2? I think they really need a patch to fix these timing issues.
That being said, I am completely satisfied with my purchase. I just can't put into words how happy I am to finally have "talkie" versions for all of the games in the series. What's even better is that they've keep the same voice actors (with a few notable exceptions) for all of the games. Considering the timespan from CMI to now, that's quite an accomplishment.
I can't actually give my opinion on it, since I've run right off the bat into a game-crashing bug. Twice inside 12 minutes; once after updating my sound and video drivers and .net to version 4...
And in case you're wondering, "why aren't you not moaning about this on the Steam forums, you muppet!?" it's because Valve, in their infinite wisdom, need to have someone actually unlock my forum account or something (apparently the Steam account and the usual board-forum-registering malaky is not good enough and they have to have an administrator clear you or something.) And as it's twenty past eight on Friday night (in the UK), I have the horrible feeling I ain't gettin' nowhere until Monday to even be able to say "hey, guys, I'm having the same problem as these guys here..." (I really hate Steam. Personally, I've had nothing but hassle from it. Guess I'm not gonna be playing Civ 5, am I?)
I wouldn't mind, but I had difficulty with SoMI:SE (the menu screen kept popping up and ever-increasingly random intervals), but I managed to bull my my through. I thought the buggers might have fixed any problems between then and now. Silly me... The really depressing part is, one chap on the Steam forums seems to think it's possibly something to do with Soundblaster drivers (and notably, both my crashes occurred when the music changed). Guess who's only got an Soundblaster X-Fi and doesn't have an on-board soundcard? *headdesk*
So, yeah, don't mind me, I'm just griping...
I can say that Dominic's first five minutes are to his usual standard of excellence, I suppose...!
Can't say much that hasn't already been said. It would have been nice if they'd put more effort into getting rid of the glitches, and I don't really care for the art style they used (though it's better than the first SE), but the voice acting alone was worth my ten bucks. Top-notch performances.
I found this rather interesting information on the Steam forums:
fun stuff!
Verb Bar – This is an unsupported addition to the PC Version. It's buried away in your settings.ini file. It will work in conjunction with the Context Driven Radial Menu. Moving your mouse to the bottom of the screen will slide out all verbs letting you choose any action as if in classic mode.
Once you create a savegame a settings file will be created – NOTE some of these folders/files may be hidden on your system properties.
Vista/Win7 – C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\LucasArts\Monkey Island 2 Special Edition
Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\LucasArts\Monkey Island 2 Special Edition
Open up the Settings.ini file and you will see an entry called “VerbToolbar=0”. If you change that to “1”, this will enable the Verb Toolbar.
Save Changes and reload the game.
Direct Control – The Xbox 360 Version lets users directly control Guybrush with the analog stick. If you plug a 360 controller into your PC, you should be able to control guybrush directly. You can also turn direct control "off" and still play with a 360 gamepad by turning "directcontrol=1" to a zero in the above mentioned settings.ini file.
Verb bar sounds awesome, I'll try that out right now
Edit - works but it's pretty annoying to use as the rest of the screen darkens and it pops up as soon as your cursor gets into the lower area there... much too soon.
My opinion? It's great! Sure, I have a few issues about it, like for some reason I like some of the classic soundtrack better than the new one. I like simplicity.

I heard music in the Dinky Island jungle. Was it just me?

Hmm, strange. Maybe the fact that I've got the XBLA version makes a difference.

edit: Oh and if you have the PC version and would like to hear the Dinky Island Jungle track, it's mx160_SE_JungleTheme_lp.

Really sucks it wasn't bug tested properly.
But it was $10 and almost entirely functional.
Hopefully a patch comes sooner than later.
Hopefully a patch comes at all
Yeah, I would like to know that, too!
*sigh* Too much searching for now...but thanks anyway!

Soo... If now just someone could implement that into the game
*closes Audacity*

Oh, BTW, I'm new here Hi!
