Ok, so these two 'entries' in the contest are not actual entries at all, just some examples of the kind of stuff I'm looking for in the contest that a couple of my friends put together! I've seen some great entries from you guys so far, so keep up the good work!
First, Travis Williams, a designer at 1UP.com made this terrific scene. There's a lot to love when you've got Hawkman, Frenzy, Dengar, and Robot the Cop in a car together!
Next, Mike Cruz, also a designer at 1UP.com made this one. I'm sure you get the reference.

Not that great, but it was worth it as a learning experience. (How to use perspective tool, layer modify effects and locating decals in the Source '07 GCF files)
I really wanted to make something awesome, with 3D, and flying things, and fire, and explosions, and overly dramatic scenery, and 3D, and stuff...
But sadly my DIY Special Effects Machine just got broken... So all i got left with, was this:
I'm not a Dukes of Hazzard fan, but for some reason when I saw the angle of the DeLorean, the first thing that popped in my head was the hood slide from the credits.
I laughed when I was done with it, as the flames make it look like he's sliding across the hood incredibly fast.

Hi there I read about this contest and would like to join, because I need to play Puzzle Agent... and I am not ashamed to show a really bad Photoshop picture to get it. I tried to cover my bad skills with a cute handdrawn kitty and cheap special effects, let's hope this works. So here is my little picture:

Max: Yeah its with me all the time.
Old Sam: Oh yeah i just remembered where do you keep your gun?
Max and Past Max: Non of your damn business!
Old Sam: Oh right still the same after a few years.
Sam: You mean a few decades.
Old Sam: ???
Sam:Well look at the time we should send you guys back to your time.
Old Sam: But decades?
