not working on my mac... can't install it. it's a macbook pro 2009 .

My Mac is far too old to play any Telltale game, so I don't know how to solve your problem. I would recommend e-mailing support@telltalegames.com and ask them to help solve your problem.

I'm new to PC games, but can someone tell me if you are able to use a game controller for this game or do you have to use your keyboard and mouse?? It would feel so much better if I can get the usb controller to work. someone please let me know

There are programs that let you map specific buttons from the keyboard and mouse onto a controller, but Telltale's games (so far) don't support gamepads. On a side note, IT"S DONE DOWNLOADING! WOOHOO!

My download is doing very wierd. I've downloaded the zip file for mac. And when I open it there is a menu where I can choose the first episode. Then it's going to load and when I'm at 100% nothing really happens. And when I click on the 100% downloading bar... the orange bar is running back agein in percentage and then starting over. A waited a second time until it was 100%. But then the same thing happened again??

    Is this normal?
  • edited December 2010
Obviously this didn't go as expected but im sure telltale will fix a working download link.

i got it running just fine on pc. wow what a beginning!!!

No problems on my side, currently setting up the game.

Btw, I heard someone mention that the free episode 1 serial works with this download, can anyone else confirm? I wanted to try it myself but couldn't find where to put it.
  • edited December 2010
i think it knows our serial number through our username and password
  • edited December 2010
Yeah, but it should also allow you to input it manually, or at least that's how it used to work. With the new launcher who knows.

Still, I read that it should work for the people with the free episode too, so that should take care of the complaining.
  • edited December 2010
This is NOT working, now i got to 15% and it just stopped...

Extremely unstable line. Gets interupted many times. Combination of the traffic to Telltale, christmas, and many people connected to adsl sentral
  • edited December 2010
    Working now! :)
  • edited December 2010
Woo! I'm finally about to play! After a ton of waiting and site down-age...

...the download and installation seemed to have taken longer than past Telltale games have for me.
  • edited December 2010
It seems to be working ( for now) and im at 55% hopefully i will get to 100% without interruptions... want to play damnit!

The download is up though, just need to delete the mac part of the url.

Unless for some reason that downloads the Mac version too, then I have no idea.
When it was done downloading, it told me "Sorry, but it doesn't look like you own Back to the Future: The Game. Try logging in again under a different account or pick up the game."! Apparently, some users have already started playing the first episode without having to buy the other ones! Why doesn't it work for me?
  • edited December 2010
yes after a long time of waiting i can finally download it wow if i had to wait any longer i was gonna shoot myself :)

They crawled their way in, I assume. I can't play the game too because it says the same thing.

They finally just released a patch that tracks if you really bought the game or not unfortunately..

Wait ,so are they supposed to send the downloader to me? I'm on the east coast, does that make a difference?
  • edited December 2010
Not sure if this is a glitch or standard but I played some of the game and closed it for dinner, came back and reloaded it and now it would appear to be redownloading it from the site (and taking forever!) Has anyone else experienced this?... And now it says it's installing again???
  • edited December 2010
I still haven't received my code

    Some other guy says this:

    Short answer:
Until TellTale fixes this bug, you need to run BTTF as an Administrator if you're using Vista or Windows 7.

    To do this:
    1. Right click on the game icon on your Desktop (or in your Start Menu).
    2. Select "Run As Administrator".
    3. Click "OK" in the window that appears.

You will now be able to play BTTF: Episode 1.

    Long answer:
When you're installing the game, if you choose to RUN it immediately when you've finished (by leaving the checkbox ticked at the end of the installer) it will work fine -- the first time, at least -- because you're already running it as an Administrator.

Once the game is installed, however, and you decide to play it again, you need run it as an Administrator manually, otherwise the Launcher will ask you to Log In and then redownload and attempt to install the game over itself(!).

This is some particularly lazy bug testing coupled with some bad programming, unfortunately. Someone never bothered to see what happens if you uncheck the boxes at the end of the installer -- or, if they did, they never bothered to see what happens if you install it on a default Vista or Windows 7 setup.

Thank you, running as administrator did fix it.

Back from work and half drunk. After a lot of time waiting I still have to wait 10 minutes for the game to download. That's heavy.
  • edited December 2010
Oh man... it was worth the wait. It's very rare for a game to make me cry during the intro. Nice work Telltale.

You're sure that doesn't have anything to do with you being half-drunk? :P

    Could be.

    ...

Nah, don't think so. Hearing Marty's mom saying he was back to good old 1986 was too much for me.

It was a nice subversion of the catch phrase :) Too bad we didn't see Marty's mom herself.

I wonder if Zeitgeist Game Reviewer and martymcfly (the guy who writes the articles on these forums) are gonna be reviewing the first episode within a few hours.

Telltale didn't contact me regarding a review of this title unfortunately.

    So far ?

they support pad since Sam and max season 3.

And of course BTTF does. And it's actually much better with a pad.
