i like the part where it starts out with Edna saying "just kidding, heres your little book" and martys like "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO DOC?" and she says "that silly fool never takes his eye drops so we have to force him." Doc walks in rubbing his eyes and whining "but i dont WANNA brush my teeth" to the security guards. Marty is like.."DOC WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING" and then Samuel L Jackson busts in and says "HOLD ON TO YOUR BUTTS"...everyone stares at him....he says..."Oh....i forgot...it got delayed.." and slowly backs out of the room. Doc says.."Is that part of your alternate reality, future boy?" and Marty says....."....i wonder if it'd be worth staying here if Snakes on a Plane was never made."

thats when biff runs in and shouts "MCFLY!" and everyone stares at HIM. and he's like..."What?...." and he leaves.

then Marty gets the car, and instead of the past, goes to 2015 and starts a relationship with his future daughter....who no doubt the two WILL have kids that look like their parents. ;)

all in all,...great episode. love the cliffhanger with the future marty banging on his daughters door shouting "you better not have a guy in there!" and past marty climbing out the window.

Finally beat it. And that episode was just... Not worth the wait. Its a little bland and boring. And there are so many sound errors and glitches. And Yoman, I can't believe you fell for that guys post.

    I don't want it to end :(

I would have to agree. Didnt really like the direction this episode took.

And now we will have to wait an undetermined time to see how it is finished.

    Not my favorite episode
  • Better than episode 3, took a darker tone. But not sure if I liked the ending and still have no clue what is happening next episode.

Citizen Brown is going to ruin Younger Emmett's experiment himself so he won't fade from existance and Edna never goes mad with power.

Marty has to stop him from doing so, but now lacks the Delorean to do so. Probably will have to team up with Young Emmett or another Doc.

Who ever expected a BTTF game where you fight Doc?
  • edited April 2011
Before I played the game, I was wondering if
Jennifer was going to help Marty considering that she will disappear if Marty successfully changes the timeline. Well, she didn't but Doc did. That was unexpected but pretty cool, nonetheless. We didn't get Doc Brown as a villain in the previous episode but we might get it in the next. That was the highlight of the episode to me.
Puzzles are from the same mold as previous episodes so take that as you want.
Overall, I'd say this episode works as a setting for the final episode, if nothing else.
I'm wondering how TT is going to fit all the loose ends in the final episode, though.
  • edited April 2011
Totally agree with you there, dialogue is flat and boring. Also, puzzles are yet again way, way, way too easy. I mean could we at least get some challenges for a change? By that I mean that puzzles are very predictable and they don't require you to think much.
The times you get stuck it's generally because of a hot spot you didn't mouse over the first time you explored an area. Once you have all the facts and the complete overview, you know exactly what to do and the puzzles are solved instantly. Honestly...TTG can do so much better.

Overall the episode is one of the least entertaining ones, fixing Doc's love life is not the most brilliant story concept. Personally I was bored out of my skull playing this, and it was mostly due to boring dialogue that I had to sift through, and I was put off by the voice acting by most characters... except for Chris Lloyd. He's great of course, but I just never got into the actual game world, I felt. Not the same way I have been with Sam & Max and Monkey Island. Sound and voices really did seem way out of synch in places and it did put a damper on the atmosphere.

It has just gotten so bland...it saddens me. Telltale had the opportunity to take a brilliant franchise like Back to the Future and make it into something truly spectacular, but all they made was a second-rate product, doomed to be inhabiting the $5 discount bin of your local obscure retail outlet in 2 years time.

Well I'm sorry I can't give you a more positive review. Other people might have something positive to say, but I just can't.
  • Jennifer was barely in it which is fine, she was featured quite a bit in the 3rd episode.
  • edited April 2011
I liked this episode as a matter of fact. But the fight between Emmett and Marty broke my heart a little. And then Young Doc starts to hate Marty.
Everything is just starting to take a dark tone, and suddenly the probablility of an Happy Ending is not that high.

Anyway, I hope the real doc will be featured at some point.
  • edited April 2011
1 problem...it ended too soon...nice BTTF ride reference.
It is the shortest ep in my opinion. I hope the last one is way longer...at least story wise.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed it.
  • edited April 2011
If Telltale wanted us to feel bad about changing Doc's life. They succeeded.
  • edited April 2011
Where was the BttF The Ride reference? I must have missed it.

Great episode. It started a little slow but I thought the 2nd half of the story was great. It really did a nice job mimicking the emotional tone of the movies imo, particularly BttF 3. I love the fact that Biff isn't the main antagonist anymore. By the 3rd episode, the last battle between Marty and Biff after Biff breaks free from his mind-control felt really forced, so this was nice to have a Biff break. The conflict between Doc and Marty is much more interesting than the usual 'Biff being evil' is.

The puzzles were generally fairly easily, but there were a couple that had me stumped for a bit. The controls were also still a bit wonky, particularly in Young Doc's lab.

Can't wait to see the conclusion.

I really liked Episode 3, this one...not so much.

Yeah, it is kind of sad how Edna eventually will turn out in Marty's timeline, but I agree with him: Everything else is wrong. It's not how it's supposed to be.
What I really liked is the plot twist with FCB. He kind of reminds me of Magneto...he isn't bad for the hell of it, he just thinks what he's doing is the best for everyone, but he will screw up everything in the progress.
The characters were kind of weak. Most pointless of all was the cameo with Kid Tannen and Detective Parker. They didn't even get one single line of dialogue. They just walk by.
And I missed the humour. Last three episodes felt funnier to me.

Overall, I was disappointed with Episode 4.

I'm still on the fence about this episode.

It had its moments and I enjoyed the general idea of it but I was disappointed at the wasted potential. I was looking forward to re-building the DeLorean with Doc, attending the Science Expo (which seems to be saved for Episode Five), recruiting Jennifer to help with your escape (Her role was a lot more down played compared to what the trailer implied) and/or exploring more of Hill Valley.

The puzzles were dead easy as usual but at least they were somewhat creative. I could join the vast amount of players that go on and on about the simplistic difficulty but I'll give everyone a break.

I don't really care for the direction of the final episode. I expected so much more from Episode Four and I was sort of hoping we'd have old Doc back by now. I guess I shouldn't make any judgements on Episode Five before it's released.

when did we see kid or danny? I must have missed it.
I didn't really care to see Edna get a better timeline either. Why do all the characters have to get a happy ending? In the trilogy, Biff gets a weaker ending than his characters original timeline. Edna is not a good person, look what she does in the future. Doc blames science but she's using her own free will to remove everyone elses free will including docs. I dont think she deserves a better timeline than the one she's an old lady in the future crammed into that apartment.

When you first go to Emmett's lab, Kid's escorted out by Danny who both pass you without saying a word.

episode 4 is best at jumping to different kinds of scenes and doing this understandably. I also think the way they use the characters is better than the 3 previous episodes. The voice-acting has always been good but finally I get the BTTF feeling about Marty and Doc thanks to the script, the lines, the jokes.

The game itself, easy as usual, im kind of ambivalent about the game, but getting to know or re-discover the characters is always fun.

okay thanks. I was actually filling up my coffee at that time so i briefly heard it but didnt see it.

And i dont mind these cameos at all, keeps everything interconnected. No different than the brief shot of buford in part II.

I have to say that though as much fun as these bttf episodes are to play, they are too easy and short :( Just finished episode 4, took me 2½ hours including couple of breaks.

I was hoping for a bit more challenge so that I could spend more time per episode. Compared to Tales of monkey island, these episodes have been childs play.

But anyway, really great game, I wish I could already start Ep.5 :D

Here are my fav Eps in order

    Part 2
    Part 3
    Part 1
    Part 4.

Im sorry TTG. But Ep 4 was just not great at all.
  • edited April 2011
That was a rather suprising twist with C.Brown turning into the "villain". I enjoyed this episode a lot!
  • edited April 2011
Last episode should be pretty interesting. I'll be honest depending on how they handle this story will depend on whether I ever get any of TTG licensed titled games again.

I've just finished it. It was very good. Thank you for the great episode! It seemed shorter than the previous episodes. Took me 3.5 hrs to complete, compared to the 4-5 hrs the previous episodes took me. That's not a negative though. Keep up the great work :)

It seemed rather interesting seeing the 1931 characters again and learning a bit more about them. One example was Trixie donning a new wardrobe and getting a bit more backstory about her.

Course what I didn't like the most was
the fact that we are forced to tell the Citizen Brown Doc that Edna is going to have an unhappy and lonely life in the other timeline. Marty should of considered that this would have been a bad idea because of Doc's past relationship with her.
  • edited April 2011
Gotta say damn good episode but the end seemed way too predictable. I don't know what some of you were smoking though. That damn puzzle in his lab was a pain in the ass and really could have used a bit more direction. I spent a good while trying to figure out what the hell to do.

Overall though it was good. It does leave me worried about the ending though. There are some major loose ends to tie up so that last episode is gonna have to be a long episode to fit them all in.

I just finished it. I am really surprised. It wasn´t too easy. The big puzzle with the Emmet´s helmet got me thinking but I figured it out with a smile.

I get a sense that the storyline won´t please everyone but in my case I really felt this episode, got me emotional about Marty´s and Doc relationship. It took a little commodities that with a longer episode could it have been more interesting but I really felt the emotional complexity of this episode! because that´s what it is, this one is not about the thrills but the human connections between the characters and that is pretty rare for a computer game. Great job telltale, eager for the next and final chapter where I think, with all the setting, will be a roller coaster. OUTATIME will get us where no BTTF story has lead us before. At least it will be different and daring, just like science right?

    Just finished it, and well...

The first part where you escape the Citizien Plus Center was great.
His guitar was finally a major part of Marty again, and him messing around with electronics and hooking it up with the intercom was enjoyable.
Jennifer making fun of his underwear and saying hes "a little short for a Stormtrooper" was great. haha
And the highlight with Marty jumping down with his guitar to save Citizien Brown, felt like one of those ridiculously overacted scenes of an Action movie, but then when it failed it was just freaking hilarious.

After that it honestly became a bit meh...
The story didnt progress and nothing was really funny either.
I just kept going while being a bit bored.
Then when the story finally progressed again, we got "to be continued". :(

I want to believe this is the episode of "the calm before the storm".
