Back on topic, Russel was a disapointement for me. He looked so awesome in the trailer, but he was overshadowed by Nate all along and was anoying at times. I understand his 'not trusting people' policy, but he exagerates. Why did he trust the group in the first place then? He ranks pretty low in my favorite protagonist list, being 4th along with Bonnie, who hardly had any talking time.
Everything that happened in Russell's story was because of Nate, and he had more to do than Russell did:
- He encounters Russell and either picks him up or tricks him into going with him
- He shows more interest (a perverted interest, though) in the women from Russell's story than why Russell left the group
- Has the scar he got when he fought Wyatt/Eddie in their chapter
- Is an alcoholic, or has taste for alcohol, and offers Russell some.
- His idea to have Russell loosen up is to have Russell obverse a female walker up-close and consider how attractive she was, all while Russell is trying to fend the walker off of him.
- He takes Russell to a fuel station, where eventually they are forced to break inside and confront the old couple.
- Tries to persuade Russell to help kill the couple and take their supplies.

-Eddie shoots Nate's friend, forcing Wyatt to go with him or get killed by Nate.
-so what? How does that help? Russel still gets a good rant about his group in.
-What?! That doesn't help your case in the slightest.
-Neither does that.
-You aren't showing me why Nate was the dominant character
-Wyatt was taken into the woods by Eddie, where Nate attacks whoever is in the car.
-So?
Most of your arguments either don't help your case, or happen in a story where the lead and side characters are two equal parts, and nobody bitches about that.
Eddie overshadowed Wyatt for a good part of the episode, but not as much as Nate with Russel. Wyatt and Eddie are very funny and have more or less on the same amount of dialogue, even if Eddie has most of the best lines, and are equal as characters, since both argue and bicker just like two real friends, with neither of them in a position of power. As a character, Russel was completely dominated by Nate, who more or less makes and says everything.
The first time I played, I tried to shoot at Nate, but Russell couldn't do it, this upset me, but at the same time, and pleased, that Russell is a good guy. (I don't hate Nate, I just tried)

What I meant was characterisation. Nate had more character than Russell did in his own episode, he was just there. Sorry to mislead you.
Maybe if Russell had a little more to do before Nate showed up might have helped him make a good first impression? To me, his character only started developing in the camp at the end, when Nate isn't around.

This! I lost all respect for Russell when I seen how much of a coward he was, such a weak person.
I never tried to shoot Nate. I didn't even take the gun from him when he offered to let me cover him first. I don't know, something just told me to trust him...
More annoying than Ben? Nah. Russell was a little bit of a tosser, but then I don't blame him, after the company he'd been keeping. Poor dude.
He absolutely played second fiddle to Nate. But then I also feel the same way re: Wyatt's story - I remember it as Eddie's. I was far more invested in both NPC than the main characters.
And I go against the grain re Bonnie. Her story felt the most genuine, awkward and tense. Least favourite: Shel's, which is slightly unfair given my bias towards two of the characters in that episode. However, it also felt a bit wooden too and I can't really explain why.

You have too high requirements to the person who essentially still a child. + This makes it even more interesting character.
He reminds me Jessy Pinkman from Breaking bad. Seriously.
I didn't point the gun at Nate, since I'd figured that the game wouldn't let me for reasons such as Russell being too scared to commit murder, or Nate would suddenly realise what was happening and kill Russell for backstabbing him.
When I saw the prompt, I thought the game was saying "Want to see a 'You are Dead' screen? Choose this option!"

He's at least 18, thats considered a man. All I know if i was in his situation I would have Shot Nate when he handed me the gun in the pickup to reload it after the walker incident. I would have said "Pull over I need to go toilet" then when he stops the car..... BANG.

aaahh....
Thank's bro.
Agreed.
Maybe they liked that Nate was drinking and driving and makes dirty jokes?

No, not at all.

i agree, like her as a character but her chapter sucked, and felt sooo short
There was no part where you could chill. Everything happened at once it went too fast
Maybe that's why Telltale did so to Bonnie went together with Tavia regardless of the player's actions?

Then we got inside. How wrong I was.

Exactly. Glad that you understand my opinion. Thanks bro. *Hit his fists together*
