Yeah, kinda. But Sydney would make more sense, since it's bigger and better, like California is to Washington DC.
More like New York. California and Washington DC are on opposite coasts. Also, California is a state. Queensland can be California. And far north Queensland can be Florida. I realise that Queensland and Sydney are both in the east, but there's nothing in the west but Perth.
